What a beautiful day! I was stuck inside working all day, but at least the pharmacy out here has a window. My Omaha job has no windows. Things seem to be going well at my small town job. I guess I'll find out after the fact if I messed anything up.
After walking home from work, I quickly changed and got outside for my workout. I wanted to walk/jog 3 miles, 2 of if jogging. After the first jogging mile, my shins got really tight. I gathered up Bridget (7) who wanted to go on a walk with me, and we finished my walk together. I was only going to do a total of 2 miles (0.5 with her), but she wanted to go see the horses. That takes us out to my usual turn around spot, a 1.5 mile round trip. So I did complete my 3 miles today, I just walked 2 miles instead of jogging two miles. I also really enjoyed the one-on-one time with Bridget. She didn't even fuss on the way back about her legs hurting. It was a very enjoyable day.

It's been a busy week, but it always seems to be a busy week for me. I'm working some shifts in the hospital in my small town. I haven't worked there since February, so they had me come in on Wednesday to re-train. That went well, and so did my first solo day in a while. I'm working this whole weekend, and it seems pretty slow, so I'm catching up on my Sparking.
Day 323 (Wed)-Since I worked all day, I only had time for 10 minutes on the elliptical when I got home. I don't like to do extensive workouts in the evening. They keep me from sleeping.
Day 324 (Thurs)-Wow! I had lots of mom stuff to catch up. I spent all day doing laundry, dishes, sewing, and cooking. I squeezed in 20 minutes on the elliptical. Lots of kid activities that night, so I ran out of time. I did make ribs again, this time a double batch (16+ lbs) and I used my electric roaster as a giant crock pot. The whole family is raving about my ribs and begging me to make them again. It's hard to believe it's only my second time making ribs.
Day 325 (Fri)-Another work day, so I went for a one mile walk with my daughter. It was colder than we expected outside, or we would have gone a little longer.
I expect today's workout to be similar, a walk or a quick stint on the elliptical. Have a great weekend everyone!

I had a rough time this morning since I didn't sleep well last night. I didn't really have time for a nap, but I took one anyway after the kids went off to school. That really ate into my workout time today. I went to the city to the weekly shopping. I think I maxed out the Sequoia. We needed some trash bins along with all the groceries and some other errands to run too. I had a nice lunch with hubby, which recharged both our batteries. We shared a smoked chicken cobb salad and a bowl of tomato soup. We did really good sticking to a healthy meal plan. The tomato soup was full of veggies, not the creamy soup from a can type of tomato soup. I went to Sams instead of Costco today. There are certain things I get there that are not available at Costco. I really appreciate Costco now. They help you with the checkout. I went through twice, once to get non-parishables, and then again through the store to get fruits, veggies, meat and dairy. I figure that can count for my resistance workout, at least a little.
I quickly got in a 21 minute walk that ended up being 1.1 miles. We went down our big hill and then back up again, so it's a harder workout than it may seem at first glance. We even jogged a part of the up hill portion since I felt like I was running late. Now I get to have dinner with a good friend. It will be great to finally get together with her. I need to talk with other moms more frequently, but we are all so busy these days.

I finally was able to do a full workout routine today and I feel fabulous! I decided to go back to what I love: walking and jogging, weights (slightly modified from a previous routine), crunches and stretching. Since I haven't been consistent with this routine, it's like a new routine again for my body.
Here's what I did:
Walk/jog : 0.25 mile walk, 1 mile jog, 0.25 mile walk (I did this three times)
Weights & crunches : bicep, tricep and delt, regular crunches, bicycle, and reverse (I did this three times-one full set after each 1.5 miles)
Stretching when all done
My jogging mile times were: 13:48, 14:12, and 13:20. I'm really impressed with that last mile. I think it had something to do with speeding up to avoid traffic and to get around the slightly dangerous curves on my route. I'll take it!
My total walking/jogging time was 69 minutes. I hope I successfully worked off yesterday's two donuts, mini cupcake, and mini chocolate bars (I kind of binged at work).

I wan't able to go to church today, which depressed me a little bit. My seven year old son wasn't feeling well, so we stayed home together and rested. He fell asleep on me, and it was the best hug ever! Depressed feeling went away fast. When the rest of the family got home, I went on a one mile walk with my 10 year old son. It was sunny, but breezy today. I had already showered for work, so I couldn't run and get all sweaty. Besides, it's Sunday, so I like to take it easy anyway. We did the mile in about 19 minutes.
