I'm proud of myself today. Monday... enough said. Monday after I've worked seven of nine days... even worse. The day started with no one ready for school/work, no one able to find what they need (even hubby) and everyone turning to me. I didn't lose it. I actually remained quite calm. After I got everyone out the door, I decided to stay up and not nap. I've had a lot of trouble sleeping lately, so I've been napping a lot, which causes trouble sleeping. It's a vicious cycle.
I picked up around the house, only grumbling a little to myself about picking up after everyone. I only picked up the whites that were on everyone's floors, the loads I was going to start today. I calmly started making the "To Do" list for the kids. I organized the fridges, freezers, and shelves in the basement where we store extra food and determined that I only needed a small Costco run. After getting the laundry started and cleaning up the kitchen I trekked into Omaha and did a good job only getting what I needed. I had several errands to run, not just Costco. Got back, unloaded the Sequoia, walked down to the school to get the kids, started on more laundry and dinner. I love Costco roasted chicken on busy days. We already had leftover mashed potatoes. I warmed up some corn and made some gravy (water, chicken bouillon, bones & skin from the roasted chickens, salt, pepper, bay leaf, sage, strained it, separated out the fat, added corn starch-YUM) and made some salads. I ate chicken (with a little gravy) and a spinach salad with tomato, red bell pepper, cucumber and Italian. Everyone snarfed up dinner. I was happy.
I finally got a workout done after all this. Stevie (10) walked with me down the hill and back up again. It ended up being a 16 minute (0.81 mile) walk. I felt my buns on the way up. Later I stretched for about 12 minutes. My left calf is still a little tight. I might have to take some pain killers for bed.
A busy day, yes. I got a lot done and I'm ready for making a roast and stew tomorrow, and hopefully some green sludge too (veggie drink). It would be easy to just skip the workout if it weren't for my streak.
Something (16 min walk) is always better than nothing!

Sunday is church day, so I don't have much time for a workout. I squeezed in a ten minute walk this morning before mass. Then we were off to church, then over to hubby's sister's house for lunch. All four of her kids recently had birthdays. It's always fun to get together with them. Her kids are all the same ages as my six. They always have so much fun. I quickly ate lunch down there, and then off to work.
As far as work weekends go, this hasn't been too bad. Friday was horrible, but Saturday and Sunday have been much more manageable. I'm looking forward to this week. I only have one shift. I can be mom for a while, and hopefully get some good workouts in too.

I have had some real trouble sleeping lately, and work sure has not helped. Yesterday was an awful day at work. We were six technicians short in the afternoon, when I go in. The three we had were running their tails off, and we pharmacists tried our best to help them. We soon got behind on orders and the phone would not stop ringing. I worked ten and a half hours straight, ate at my computer, and only got out to the restroom twice. YIKES! No wonder I couldn't settle down. Tonight is going much better, though, and I'm hopeful to get some sleep tonight to catch up.
Before work today, my family made a nice breakfast for me. Hubby made the eggs, Mikey (16) the bacon, Mary (12) the coffee, and the rest of the kids helped in the kitchen and dining room. Sean (7, one of the twins) was a "hug zombie" this morning, which was hilarious. Bridget, his twin, was also cuddly, and I needed the hugs. After breakfast, I got outside for a quick ten minute walk. It was gorgeous outside, and I wish I could have spent the entire day out there instead of under the flourescent lights. Oh well, I do this for my family so we can pay our bills. Maybe next weekend will be nice outside too.

I enjoyed getting outside for a little bit today. I walked 0.25 mile, jogged 1 mile, and walked another 0.25mile. My total time was 24 minutes. I'm feeling really down today. I've had a lot of trouble sleeping over the last week or so, maybe longer. I think many factors are playing into my sleep problems, so it's hard to correct. I'm trying to make adjustments. Still, I'm happy that I've kept my streak going during all of this.
I'll be working all weekend. Hopefully it won't be as nuts as it was on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm not sure we're fully staffed tonight. We'll see when I get there.

I did a quick ten minute walk yesterday before work. Lots of running around in the morning. My twelve year old daughter has bronchitis. We did a doctor's appointment then I ran around getting meds and supplies for her and for our nebulizer.
Today I did ten minutes of weights and crunches. I'm very happy that I finally got some resistance training in, even though it was quick.
