Day 276-Still Busy!

Still trying to get too much done in very little time. Last night, my oldest son, Mikey, received his academic letter that he earned last year. It was a nice banquet, and free, so that's always a bonus. The down side was that the food was high carb, which I normally don't eat. It did taste good, some kind of chicken in a creamy sauce on bowtie pasta. I even had a dinner roll. All of it was very yummy.

I haven't had much time to get laundry done, but I'm almost done with it for the week. The family will have to help with the final couple of loads, but I can't believe I got as much done as I did. I worked a lot this week, and on the two days I didn't work, I still went into Omaha. One day was for a Costco run, the other for orthodontist appointments for two of my kids.

Today I didn't have much time before work, so I only got in ten minutes on the elliptical again. I feel good, though. That's ten minutes of exercise a lot of other people don't get in, and it still adds up and keeps me feeling good about myself.

Day 275-Busy!

Too much going on today, and too much laundry to catch up, so I only did 10 minutes on my elliptical this afternoon. I wish I could have gotten outside early, but I couldn't due to orthodontist appointments for my kids. I also have just one day to catch up laundry, before working all weekend.

Day 274

My two best friends came over for coffee this morning, so I ran out of time to get a good workout in. It has been too long since we've visited, and I think we are planning to do coffee more often. I'm not planning on volunteering at the school, so that should open up my mornings. I just don't have time for volunteering any more with all the work hours I'm picking up.

I did get my "workout" in, though. I did ten minutes on the elliptical. It's too hot to go outside, unless I get out first thing. I was tired, so I tried to nap a little after everyone left for school/work. So the elliptical got some use today, although I wish I had more time.

    I'm glad you got to visit with friends. That is important for your general health! Great job keeping your streak alive! Just think of all the days you would just skip a workout if it weren't for your streak. Some days are harder than others, but it is great to know that you have been consistent for 274 days! Woohoo! Way to go!

Days 271, 272, 273

My blog from yesterday disappeared, so I have three days of exercise to talk about.

Day 271 (Sunday)- We went to the zoo for the first time this year. I estimated a total of two miles walked at a pretty slow pace since I had hubby and the kids with me. We had a very fun time and I loved the changes to the aquarium. We also took in a 3D Imax movie.

Day 272 (Monday)- This was my roughest day with TOM so I had to take it easy. I walked 1.6 miles in 34 minutes. That included walking to and from the school to pick up the kids.

Day 273 (Today) - I got my first jog in with my new running shoes. I ended up getting Asics Nimbus, very cushy, very cute, and also on sale. I jogged two miles straight with a 0.25 mile walk both before and after. My total time was 38 minutes, my mile times were: 14:00 and 14:30. I can tell I still feel a bit drained from TOM, but much better than yesterday.

It looks like I'll have to keep getting out early for my workouts this week. What a hot week we have coming here in Western Iowa! Stay cool and careful everyone.

Day 270 Weekly totals

I love my elliptical on rainy days! I was able to get 30 minutes in on the elliptical today. I'll call it 2.2 miles. That's between a 13 and a 14 minute mile, my usual jogging times. My elliptical measures miles pretty generously. It said I went 7.5 miles. I haven't been able to match that up with kilometers, bicycling, or any type of real measurement. I also stretched for ten minutes afterward.

Here are my weekly totals:

5.4 miles walked
11 miles jogged
2.2 miles on the elliptical
18.6 total miles on foot
336 minutes working out (5.6 hours)
6 stretching sessions after cardio

I've eaten pretty well this week. I still like having treats too much, but I've noticed I don't totally binge when I have a treat now. I still would like to stay on track for a few weeks before having some kind of small treat. When I start eating sweets, I have a hard time stopping.

All in all, I'm very happy with my progress this last week.
