I had a fantastic workout on day 246, my previous blog, 2 mile jog. I started feeling like I was finally going to start making progress again. I even had a decent night at work afterward, but got a stomach ache that felt like bad gas toward the end of my shift. I left work 15 minutes early, made it home. That began six hours of excruciating pain and vomiting and then back to the hospital. The signs and symptoms all pointed to a gall bladder attack. Both my mom and brother have had their gall bladders removed. The pain eventually subsided, after about 12 hours, leaving me with a bruised feeling inside where my gall bladder is located. All my tests came up negative. I even did a nuclear scan where they could see the gall bladder functioning perfectly. Although I'm relieved I didn't need surgery, I'm puzzled as to what happened. I still think it was a gall bladder attack and that perhaps the meds I received for pain and inflammation somehow helped it clear out enough that it got working fine again. That's my best theory at the present time.
I spent the night in the hospital with doctors orders to get up and walk. Thursday my 10 minutes of physical activity was walking slowly around the hallways of the hospital. Friday I was feeling much better as I was getting food in my system again and did 10 slow minutes on the elliptical, although I also had to walk the halls of the hospital before being discharged.
So now, I'm building my strength back up slowly. I figure I'll be walking for my workouts for the next week. I'm trying to slowly get back into eating healthy again. I'll be cooking my veggies a while for easier digestion. I've switched from coffee to tea to also help my stomach, just in case my stomach is the problem. I've also stopped taking Naproxen for joint pain, and stopped some of my supplements that may be stressing my liver, just in case that could be affecting my gall bladder. I think these are all positive changes to my routine, some of which I have been debating doing anyway.

I wish I had more time yesterday to get a longer jog in, but I was glad I started jogging again. Today I continued that trend, and jogged almost two miles. The first 1/8 mile was walking and I got the two miles done in 27:40, that's 13:50 each mile. I then walked another half mile in nine minutes, pumping my arms to keep them moving. My daughter hates when I do that. She says I look silly. I think I just look like someone who's working out. Jogging will definitely be a part of my 60-90 day jump start program when school starts. I don't know why, but I love jogging.
I just logged my miles for today, and I'm at 338 total miles for the year (walking, jogging, biking, elliptical). My elliptical miles are based on my time on the elliptical and how fast I feel I'm going (13-15 minute mile usually). I joined a goal on the Iowa Moms team to make it across Iowa, and that is 330 miles.
I'VE MADE IT ACROSS IOWA!!!

I haven't jogged much lately due to my busy work schedule, camping, and the intense heat here in Iowa. Today I decided to try a quick jog. I warmed up with a 1/8 mile walk and then jogged the rest of the mile. I came in with a time of 13:19, and that includes the walking portion of the mile. I am very happy with that and the fact that I feel like I could have jogged two miles if I had time.

One of my twins, Sean, had an MRI on Thursday. There was a very small chance he had something wrong in his brain, causing visual disturbances. The scan came back clear. He's perfectly healthy! This is the best news I have ever gotten.
Today's workout was a quick ten min on the elliptical, a different program that's already set in there. It built up quickly to level nine, then down to eight, then up to nine again before decreasing for a cool down.

Yesterday we took it easy. We've had a cold going through the family, so a couple of the kids didn't feel so good. I also have been on the go with work, camping, and mom stuff, so I really needed a relaxing day. I went for a walk in the evening with my best friend, Tracy. She was glad I called. We live a block away from each other, and we've hardly seen each other this summer. It was a slow walk by my standards, 20 minutes per mile, but the visiting was really nice. Hubby and I went out to eat last night. That ruined my good eating streak, but we had a really nice date. We ate at Crave: California roll (Volcano variety) appetizer, filet with crab and asparagus, garlic potatoes and Moscato D'Asti. Yum! Yum! Yum! We went to Delice for dessert and I had a white chocolate, raspberry charlotte. More Yums!! We were impressed with ourselves that we were able to eat the California rolls with chop sticks.
Today is the twins' birthday. My babies are seven! We're getting ready for their party with family right now. I played Xbox Kinect for 30 minutes with Stevie (10). That's my workout for today. I stink at track and field. I have to get my knees up higher. I came in eighth. I beat him at table tennis, though. WooHoo!
