I'm still doing good with exercise. Yesterday had to be a slow day (my worst day of TOM). I got at least 10, maybe 15 minutes walking in with hubby. Today, I'm feeling much stronger, so I did 30 minutes on the elliptical. I changed it up, though. Instead of doing my usual program of resistance that I created myself, I chose one of the pre-programmed settings. This one gradually built up to a resistance of 9. I usually only go up to 5, and for short bursts. I repeated this program three times, for ten minutes each. This definitely got my heartrate up, whew! I think I'll keep trying different programs to challenge my body while still using the elliptical.
I've had more food victories too. Wednesday night at work, I resisted Eileen's Colossal cookies, not an easy task. Yesterday while out with hubby, I had a Thai peanut chicken salad for lunch. He had a grilled ham and cheese with french fries. Last night, I had one bite of a graham cracker. The kids said they tasted funny and I was checking before throwing them out. They tasted fine, but with TOM the one bite triggered an awful sweet tooth. I beat it with my kids' help. They got me a nectarine and then a string cheese. I was cured, no ice cream, cookies, or graham crackers.

Today I did another 30 minutes on the elliptical. It felt better today, so hopefully my body is remembering that I'm not all that out of shape. I feel like I went pretty fast, 70 rpms for most of it. My kids cheered me on today again.
I have to agree with my sparkfriend, SIBLEYHONEYBEE, that at this point, I have to say "no" to the treats. Cake, ice cream, oreos, donuts... they all get me started down a bad path and then I crave more. Last night another victory. Hubby brought home Oreos for Sean (he got a Rocephin shot). It was a Costco box. I have totally resisted, with the help of my kids. I did eat pizza last night, but that was just one meal off the diet. It was deep dish, so it was mostly the ingredients parts, not a whole lot of crust. (I'm a low carb person).
I'm still researching different ideas for when school starts to really jump start my program. For now, I feel like I am making progress at regaining the stamina I had not too long ago.

When will this heat wave end? I guess it's good that I'm working so much. I can't have much fun outside when it's so hot and humid.
I did 20 minutes on the elliptical today: 5 min warming up and gradually getting faster, 13 minutes going fast (around 70 rpm), then two minutes slowly cooling down. The thirteen in the middle were hard, but I feel like I'm working toward something now. Over the next couple of weeks, I hope to come up with a plan for when school starts. I need some 60 day boost for myself. I plan to go 60 days straight eating well for one goal. I also plan to come up with some exercise plan for those sixty days. I want to look at my expected work schedule and write out my exercise for each day ahead of time and try to mix things up a bit.
Any suggestions on "Jump Start" workout plans that have worked for you?
I've heard of PX90, or something like that, and I just saw the "Insanity" workout commercial, which looks too hard for my joints. Any ideas, no matter how crazy, would be appreciated.
