I realized as I was jogging my planned three miles today, that if I extended by just a half mile, my total would be 13 miles in four days. So today, I totaled 3.5 miles in 49 minutes. I did this in intervals, one mile, one mile, 1.5 miles. In between jogging intervals, I did weights (chest press, delt press, bicep curls, quads), and crunches (regular, bicycle, reverse), and then stretched when I was done. Feels great to get all of this done. I work this weekend, so I'll have shorter workouts to keep my streak going. My total time for the 13 miles was 178 minutes (just under three hours). I have a friend who just ran a half marathon and she did it in 2.5 hours, a slow time for her. She isn't overweight like I am, and she's been running a lot longer than me. I also know that some of my jogs have felt slower this week for whatever reason. I'll keep an eye on my trends from week to week. I hope I can get out to jog a lot. It makes the biggest difference in my body out of all my exercises.
