It got hot and humid quickly outside, so I looked at my inside exercise options. I haven't done weights in a while, so I decided on one of those routines:
10 min elliptical, one round of weight set one (chest press, delt press, bicep curls, quads), one round crunches (30 regular, 10 bicycle, 10 reverse).
All of the above times 3
It was hard to complete today. I did not feel like exercising, although I'm glad I didn't cut it short. I feel proud of myself for sticking with it.

The temps and humidity are rising, so I stayed inside and swam today. I did 30 minutes including 600 backstrokes, freestyle kicks, back kicks, reverse crunches, and ab/adductor kicks. I also stretched afterward, especially to loosen up my neck. My arms and shoulders are not used to swimming and got a little tight.
I have to say I really appreciate the 10 min/day challenge. I have been insanely busy April and May with work, soccer, piano/guitar, choir and band concerts, middle school track, high school track, a field trip, buying a new car, and all my other mom stuff. I think last year I pretty much stopped exercising, or only did it once or twice a week. If I couldn't get a full cardio, weights, and stretching done, I didn't bother. Now I get something done every day. Many days last week were only 10 minutes of light cardio due to schedule and illness, but that's still better than nothing. This challenge also forces me to do something for myself for at least ten minutes a day. I hope I have a chance tomorrow to look at the April numbers. It will be interesting to see how much exercise I got in even though I really didn't have time.

Today was the kindergarten field trip, so I rearranged my schedule so I could go with the twins. We went up to Hitchcock nature center north of Crescent. I haven't been up there in a very long time. I wish I had gone last year. The views are spectacular and it would have been interesting to see the floods from that vantage point. The twins enjoyed the day and we did some hiking on the trails, so I'm counting that as my workout today. Bridget even tried a cheddar flavored bug. I guess they actually sell those. She tasted it, then spit it out, but that was better than at least half the kids there. Sean wanted no part in that, neither did I. The nature center is really nice, and the naturalists who led the groups were very good with kids. It got a little warm, and I didn't sleep well again, so we napped after the field trip. I got a good cuddle from Sean. He was exhausted too, so we both crashed out.

Again I didn't sleep too well. I probably got too hyped up from work. We had another good night at work. This morning after everyone left for school and work I did a few chores then went back to bed. I stayed in bed until 11am. Still recovering from the sore throat/congestion I guess. Then I was off to register the new CRV. That should be the last enormous check for a while. I haven't really done too much today, a little grocery shopping, laundry, dishes. I still feel pretty slow.
I did a 31 minute walk today, two miles. I forced myself to only walk, but it was a fast walk with my arms pumping. I know I should ease my body back into my workouts. It felt good to go for 30 minutes.
So, overall, today has been pretty relaxing. Hubby made enough stew yesterday for leftovers today. Thanks Hubby! You're the best!
