Day 142-Another sunny day

I LOVE getting outside in weather like this. Today I did jogging and weight intervals:

1 mile jog, weights, abs (non-crunch)

I did this three times.
My jogging total time was under 42 minutes. I felt slow today, and it felt pretty warm out there. I hope the weather cooperates. I'd love to get outside again this week.

I am doing great at avoiding fat, alcohol, and high glycemic foods. I'm also trying really hard to watch my portions, 3/4 of my plate as veggies, 1/4 meat. I think I really needed some extra last night after dinner. I was starting to crash and had an extra ham and cheddar cheese (a fancy Irish kind from Costco). That helped a lot instead of my usual stick of string cheese. I still think I'm making progress, but can only weigh myself once a month, if that often. I don't want to discourage myself.

Hubby is still trying hard at eating well. He also tries to get some sort of workout in, but he is pretty tired after work.

I'd better go now, lots still to do around the house.

Day 141-Five miles

I finally got in over sixty minutes of cardio. Today I did some walking and jogging intervals: 0.25 mile walk/1.25 mile jog/0.25 mile walk/1.25 mile jog/0.25 mile walk/1.5 jog/0.25 mile walk.

That totals 4 miles jogging in 54 minutes and one mile walking in 17.5 minutes.


For the record, I did take my nap this morning after everyone left. It was cold and rainy, perfect sleeping weather. It felt great!!

    Great job exercising! I firmly believe that exercising in intervals like the walk/jog/walk/jog is the prime exercise for weight loss. Keep moving!

Day 140-Lots of running around

I finally got a workout in today, at 7:30pm. I walked around the track down by the soccer fields. I couldn't find my sweats and was in a hurry, so I decided to walk instead of jogging. I did two miles in under 31 minutes. I feel really good about that.

Today was a day of running around. I had to get the title from our totaled van from the county courthouse and then take it to our insurance company so we could get the check. Then I had to drive to Omaha and meet hubby so we both could sign the check and deposit it. I was then able to pay our taxes. I really don't want to think about that part too much. Hubby and I had a nice lunch together, gyro salads. Afterward it was off to Costco for lots of fresh veggies.

After I got home it was the usual trying to get dinner and other various kitchen jobs done while getting kids to and from their practices and lessons. I think tomorrow morning, I'll go back to bed after everyone gets off to school and work. I need a break!

    Great job on the walk (we were actually walking at the same time - almost like walking together LOL) but it sounds as if you need a morning for regrouping. Nothing better than going back to bed to do it right. Have a great day.

    That's a busy day. Way to go on fitting in that walk. I know what you mean about fresh veggies at Costco. I've been thinking of getting a membership again to Sam's Club. They always had good qualilty produce that was flavorful and lasted longer. Enjoy that break tomorrow.

I only got 10 minutes in on the elliptical, but that's all the time I have. Getting ready for church, then off to work. It's a busy day.

I sure hope the storms are done for a while. The forecast says windy today.

Day 138-Short workout, but my streak is still going

I only had time for a short walk today with hubby. We walked for twelve minutes. I pushed him a little harder and made him walk a little faster, but he couldn't manage my all out walk. He's trying, though, and that makes me happy.

I've done really well the last two days with eating veggies (tons) and small amounts of meat. I've also done well with limited caffeine. Both days I only had two mugs of 1/2 caf coffee. I can live with that. I might even switch to green tea, but hubby made the coffee and I was in a hurry.

Work has been crazy until this point. Last night I didn't even get a break. I hate nights like that. Tonight's been busy, but we've caught up now. Hope I haven't jinxed it.
