I have to remind myself to slow down sometimes, but luckily today I remembered. TOM hit, and that's one of the times I have to remember to take it easy. My workout today, a two mile walk in 35 minutes. So, my streak continues, and I'm not suffering for it. Other times I have to remember to slow down: the Mondays after I work, when I have headache issues. Except for Monday, I've taken it easy this week, but kept my streak going.
Last night was stressful, shopping with the kids. I forgot that my asthmatic is on prednisone, and that alters his personality. He had a meltdown. I think I handled it well. It's so hard trying to get everything we need in one trip. I wish I could make the kids understand better.
How many other moms out there use the speech, "Do you think this is fun for me!?!" while shopping with the kids? Just curious. I know I pull it out every time as I obsess about getting everything taken care of.

Well, I've decided to lower my caffeine intake. I'm down to two half caf mugs of coffee. I've been battling a headache for three days, but I'm not budging. I knew there would be withdrawals, so I'm pushing forward.
Today's been a shopping day with the kids. I managed to get an 11 min walk in, all by myself. No noise, no music. It felt great! Now off for more shopping.
One main meal I've adapted in addition to my coffee is my lunch. I usually have chicken or during lent salmon salad. I love making it with apple and celery. I finally decreased the mayo I was using, and mostly use plain, non-fat yogurt. I still add some mayo at this point for flavor, but it's much less. Just thought I'd share.
The kids are all fighting right now, I've got to go.

Well, I've finally admitted to myself that I need to make a change to my diet. Hubby and I are going to do this together, so I'm really excited. We've got a plan for lots more veggies and fruit, and decreasing the meat and fat. I've also given the kids the talk that they have to be supportive to help Daddy get healthy.
For my workout today I had to take it easy. I walked for 30 minutes, 1.8 miles. I overdid it yesterday, forgetting that I have to take it easy on the Monday after I work. I had a horrible headache last night, and felt very fatigued this morning. I hope I remember in two weeks that I have to go easy on Monday.

Wow! I am glad I got out around 9:30 this morning to jog. It already felt hot and steamy. I did a 3 mile jog in 42.5 minutes. I'm happy with that time. It felt good to finally get a nice long cardio session in. I worked all weekend, and that sometimes makes it hard to get a 30 minute workout done. I only managed 11 minutes each on Friday, Sat. and Sunday.
With the car accident, taxes and other issues last week I never mentioned the road work on our street. They've been cutting up sections of the road to replace because of pot holes. Today, they lobbed out a big section right by our mailbox, and another in front of our yard. It's been interesting getting out of the driveway and around the road closed signs. It's also been loud. One benefit has been that the road was closed all weekend. The kids were able to ride their bikes in the street with no traffic. I think Hubby has gotten all the bikes ready, so all we need is some free time to get the bikes to a trail for a ride.

I got a quick walk in today, 11 minutes, about 0.6 miles. Time to get ready for church and work. Enjoy the sunshine today!
