Wow! What a difference in my mood with the sun shining! Of course the migraine earlier this week, and Patrick's cough (10 days now) brought my mood down some anyway. I went for a walk yesterday for 35 minutes and did well. The hills in my area get tough sometimes pushing the stroller. Thankfully, I only had one of the twins with me, that lightened the load. I've been doing really well with my eating. Lent helps that a lot. I'm not allowed to snack unnecessarily. I even avoided the potatoes and Irish soda bread I made yesterday, limiting myself to the corned beef, cabbage, and a few carrots. This is the first year I've had everything turn out really well. I'm so happy the kids love my cooking and baking. We even have leftovers for tonight, so I don't have to cook again. That will give me more time to get a good walk in today with this beautiful day.
Have a good weekend everyone! I'll be working, but will hopefully be able to fit in some working out too.

Today I have four of my blessings home with me. The usual two, the four year old twins, Sean and Bridget. I still have Patrick home with his cough. Mary joined us today with a sore throat and headache. To top it all off, I have a migraine and didn't sleep last night.
With all of this, I can't help but see the blessings surrounding me. Mary is ten and is very creative. She voluntarily copied off Easter coloring pictures for the twins and then compiled them into books with a story she wrote. When I went to lay down, Patrick came in to see if I needed a heating pad warmed up. Pat's almost twelve. They both helped with making lunch. The twins spontaneously come over and hug and kiss me throughout the day.
None of us feels good, yet we are all pulling together to get through the day. I know Mikey (13), and Stevie (8) will be awesome helpers when they get home. Brian has already told me that I don't have to make dinner. He also let me vent this morning in my sleep deprived migraine state.
Yep, I'm surrounded with blessings.

I'm worn out. This weekend wasn't very relaxing at all, and I just feel exhausted. Poor Patrick is still sick. We go back to the Family doc again, or the pulmonigist if he ever gets back to us. I don't see how the poor guy is going to catch up on his school work. My husband was sick all weekend and studying. He takes a test at the end of the month for CISSP certification (computer stuff). He also had to deal with the plumber and a bunch of leaks we didn't realize we had. Our old house just seems to be falling apart. I took five of the kids to church and then shopping for things we need from the city. I just can't take them during the school week. I did manage to find everything we were looking for: white suit (First Communion), new dress (Confirmation), shin guards (soccer), piano books, and finally faucet for the kitchen sink (my husband added that one at the end of my trip). Both Brian and I had an exhausting Sunday, and I still have to set up doctor's appointments and get the plumber here to fix the last leak.
I sure hope the sun comes out today. I am so tired of this foggy, cloudy weather. That's probably part of my problem. PMS is probably to blame for the rest. I'll have to exercise and see if that helps me perk up a bit. At least I found out that I can use my dishwasher today. I read on some Spark Blog suggestions for being more active that washing dishes by hand is one way to be more active. I think whoever wrote that doesn't have six kids.

I was worried about my Patrick all morning. Yesterday his oxygen level was 94% and the doctor put him on prednisone. This is the first time he's needed oral steroids for his asthma. I kept him home again today and took him back for a recheck of his oxygen. It was 98% and he can go back to school tomorrow. This has been his worst bout with asthma. I just hope his coughing ends soon.
Anyway, I just wanted to share that he is doing better.
Chris
