We finally were able to go disc golfing as a family. We went to the course over in Blair. It's a little hilly, but that made for some good hikes. I had better shoes on than the last time we tried. Last year I had a bad fall wearing generic shape-ups. We went on a whim and I wasn't well prepared. I've since stopped wearing those shoes. Today I had good walking shoes on and we had fun. It's nice in Blair, not as crowded as the Ralston course. Our loud kids didn't bother anyone. Now we just need to get our bikes ready so we can get some family rides done this year.

It has been a wet, dreary week here in Western Iowa. I finally saw the sun today, and it called me outside for a jog. I only had a short time to work out, so I did 2.5 miles. I walked a total of 0.5 miles and jogged two miles straight (27:20-jogging time). It felt really good and I think I could have done more if there were more time.
I'm feeling pretty good today. I've made the switch back to Cytomel (T3 only medication for thyroid) and it seems to be agreeing with me much better than the dessicated thyroid. I'm on half the dose I used to be on. As the T4 and reverse T3 build up goes down, I will probably have to increase my dose. I'm taking it slowly, one day at a time and really charting my sleep and moods carefully. I've slept well the last two nights, only waking up 1-2 times per night.
My weight is about the same as it's been, around 178 (that's with shoes and clothes). My clothes are fitting the same so I know I haven't changed much. Good news though, I haven't gained despite my thyroid issues. I'm trying to keep positive. It's easier to stay positive now that I feel more like myself again.

I was very active all day long, doing the shopping for the family. YUK! It had to be done, though. I've never seen our fridges and freezers so empty. So I headed out bright and early, well not so bright. It rained and drizzled all day. First stop, Target to get some different clothes for the family. I found almost everything I was looking for there. I even got some new exercise shorts and a top. Then off to the dreaded Sam's and Costco. Yes, we have memberships to both. I had my van filled in every row with groceries and odds and ends. I realized on my way home that I would not be on time to pick up the elementary kids from school so I quickly called a friend. She got the elem. kids, I got the middle school kids. Then we unloaded the whole mess and got it all organized. After that, I chopped up the fresh veggies for salads and we had dinner. I've been going all day, but found enough energy to do some Zumba. I chose an "expert" routine so I could get another accomplishment checked off. The expert levels don't actually work you harder. I really don't like them, but tolerate them to earn my accomplishments. Today's wasn't so bad. It had some decent moves in it.
So my streak continues with 20 minutes of Zumba today.

I try to post a blog every day, not only for the points, but because it's easier for me to keep track of my streak. Today I did the elliptical for 30 min. I haven't slept well for a couple of nights, so I have to keep my workout short.
I'm sparking on the iPad. Anyone who's read my comments before knows that I hate using the iPad for sparking. I prefer a real keyboard, but at least I have a backup.
I spent the morning running around in Omaha. Two of the kids needed to go to the orthodontist, then we went to my thyroid doctor. I've been getting myself worked up about this trip since it's been almost a year since I've been there. The appointment went fine. I was worked up for nothing.
