Day 81-streak intact

I was finally able to do Zumba on the Xbox today. I did an intermediate routine and a few small single routines to equal 30 minutes.

Work's been busy, crazy Friday night. Had two chemo patients come in late afternoon. Thankfully we had our IV room pharmacist picking up an extra shift. She had to make eight different chemos. The rest of us kept busy with all kinds of other crazy orders and the nation wide drug shortages that make hospital pharmacy interesting these days.

Gonna try to get a few more spark points before the evening is done.

Day 80!! (10 min exercise/day)

So far I've done the elliptical for 30 minutes, weights, crunches and stretching. I'm eating lunch right now but will attempt to Zumba afterward. We'll see if the Xbox cooperates today.

Our school year is about to get really busy. Mikey (15) has just started track practices. That usually doesn't affect me too much. He walks home or gets a ride from a friend. Stevie(10) is still in basketball. He usually has three practices a week and I don't like him walking by himself since he's younger. He also has piano and guitar lessons that I have to drive him to and from. Soccer will start up soon. I'm assuming once the ground thaws. Mary (12), Stevie (10), Sean (6) and Bridget (6) are all signed up. I also signed up hubby to be an assistant coach for Sean's team and myself to be an assistant coach for Bridget's. We'll see how that goes. It should be fun, but neither one of us has coached before. Patrick (13) may try Middle School track this year. We'll see how his asthma is. He's having a good year with it so far.

I think for meals during all that crazy time we'll have to grill up a bunch of burgers and hot dogs and just warm things up on the go. If I have a bunch of dipping veggies in the fridge for the week, then we'll be set.

Only 10 more days and you are at 90!! Know you can do it - you have tons of energy and will need it once the spring sports start up. The kids will keep you running like crazy. Enjoy the coaching - Bridget will love having you help and Sean will love having Dad. See you tomorrow night at work - have a good night of sleep.

Day 79-XBox frustrations

I admit, I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world, but I usually can get things working. The Xbox today said I couldn't play my Zumba game until I did an update. I clicked "ok." The update was unable to download. I tried to play my game. I cannot play the game until I do the update.

I've also noticed with my Zumba game that only two easy level workouts are available right now. Mikey (my oldest) looked it up. I have to go through the easy, moderate, and difficult levels that are available to me to unlock more routines. It seems to me that all the easy routines should be open first, then the moderate, etc... In fact, I paid $50 for this game, just give me all the workouts! I shouldn't have to "earn" a @#$#@ thing!

So.....today I swam for my exercise. I did 45 minutes of kicks and backstrokes. I also stretched for 10 minutes afterward. I like stretching in the pool. The water is warm, so my muscles are really loosened up. I also can do some stretches I can't do out of the water. Gotta love buoyancy!

    I LOVE to swim! Technology is supposed to help us, right? I empathize with your frustration with Xbox updates. If I were you, I'd forward your Zumba feedback to the company to open all the easy routines! You might also look on youtube for zumba stuff. Swim on, zumba on!

Day 78-Happy St. Valentine's Day

The day started with the phone ringing at 5:45am. It was the automated call to tell us that school was starting two hours late. In other words, they woke me up 45 minutes earlier than normal to tell me that I could sleep in.

It also meant that I had less time after the kids left for school to get my workout in. I did my standard routine today: elliptical, weights (triceps, glutes), non-crunch abs, and stretching. No time for Zumba today, at least not yet.

After my workout I headed to school for the first party, Bridget's. It was fun to help out. At the Christmas party the kids decorated Hubby as a Christmas tree. Today, one of the kids asked me, "Where is Bridget's dad? We could decorate him with hearts."

I came home for lunch and then headed back for Sean's party. I think both twins enjoyed having me there for their parties. I enjoyed being there for them. I've been pretty good too with all the treats around. I had one chocolate chip cookie last night, and one today. Not bad for making a double batch. We'll see if hubby brings home any treats. I hope he brings flowers. You can't eat those.

Day 77

Today I was able to get back on track with weights. For various reasons I was only able to get one weight session in last week. Today I did 30 min elliptical, weights (chest, bicep, delt, quads), crunches (regular, bicycle, reverse) and then 20 min of Zumba.

The Zumba game is a little frustrating at this point. It takes me a while to log on. I don't know if they could make it more complicated. It used to be (way back in the nintendo years) that you plug it in, turn it on, and you were good to go. I'm having Mikey, my oldest, figure out how to open up more sessions for me. Right now I can only do two easy sessions, which really aren't that easy at all. Zumba is fast, it's fun, but it's fast.

We've got another busy week ahead. Basketball practice for Stevie, Piano for four kids, guitar practice for one, track practice starts for Mikey, Valentine's parties for the three elementary kids, and I work on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. That means I have to get all my home jobs done by Thursday, and have some food ready to take to work this weekend.

I'd better get at it!!!
