Day 76-Still going!

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Yes, I did Zumba again today, for 32 minutes. Wow! The fast parts are really fast and I'm only on the first easy level. I need to "earn" more levels.

I'm ready for the week to start. I had way too much activity this weekend. I hope there isn't any snow. I really need the kids to go to school so I can get some stuff done.

I know what you mean, Chris. I don't get near enough done when the kids are home.

Day 75-More Zumba

Saturday, February 11, 2012

I navigated my game a little easier today. I hope I can figure out how to log in when the kids are at school. I did 30 min of Zumba today. I love this game!

Today Stevie had his second basketball game. My parents were able to go. His team won and he scored two baskets! The score was 18 to 8, so four points is a lot for him to score. He also played fantastic defense and had an awesome assist. Stevie is very talented in both music and sports. He's fun to watch!

Day 74-Zumba!!!

Friday, February 10, 2012

I went shopping today with all the kids. Yes, I'm nuts!! They all needed different items, and they didn't have school, so we all ventured out first thing in the morning. I think I found everything I was looking for, even Zumba for the Xbox360 Kinect. So today for my workout I did my first Zumba class. I'm glad it was at home. It's been many years since I took Jazzercise, and Zumba has a lot more hip motion. The kids were all busy with their own computer games, so they didn't laugh at me. I managed a total of 42 minutes with doing some tutorials and one 20 minute class.

I love it!!! This will be such a fun addition to my exercise routines!!!

I love Zumba - but haven't tried it at home. I take Zumba classes 3x a week, and I love them! For awhile we were getting together at my church on Saturday am and doing the original Zumba tapes together.

Good for you!

Good job, Chris. Sounds more productive than my day. I sewed a cape for Kyle to wear to the opening of Star Wars Episode I in 3D (his little group were going to dress up in Star Wars outfits but he forgot to tell me until last night). Needless to say, I didn't get the cape done so he'll have to wear it for the rest of the movies when they come out in 3D - I'm sick of sitting at the sewing machine and cutting fabric! Ugh! What we do for our kids - right?!? Have a nice weekend.

Day 73

Thursday, February 09, 2012

I got called in to work today out here in my small town hospital. It was my first time being the only pharmacist on duty. The technician was there too, so she could help me if I had trouble finding things. It was a good day. Slow at first, then really busy for most of the rest of the day. The last half hour slowed down a bit too. That shift will help make up for the fact that I stayed home for a shift last weekend during the snow storm.

I did my workout after work today. I did 40 minutes on the elliptical. I wish I could do more, but TOM hit and I need to go slower. I overdid it last month, and had a tough time recovering. I won't be able to swim or do weights for the next couple of days, but that's okay. I'll try to do 30-60 min on the elliptical, probably just 30 tomorrow.

Days 71 & 72

Wednesday, February 08, 2012

Yesterday was a great day! I did 60 total minutes on the elliptical ( 16x3, then 12), weights, non-crunch abs, and stretching for a fantastic full workout. I also ate great all day. I'm still pushing the veggies. Most days I'll have my veggie drink (green sludge) and dipping veggies and probably a side veggie for dinner. The kids had fun after school. I had Patrick (13) help Sean (6), and Mary (12) help Bridget (6) make their boxes to hold Valentines. They also helped the twins fill out their Valentines. Bridget's box is covered with pictures of butterflies, with a giant picture on the inside. Sean's box has teeth to "eat" the Valentines. I was making dinner and observing them all at the same time.

Today I woke up with a very stiff neck and annoying headache. I really couldn't see straight this morning, but the pain wasn't as bad as a migraine. So I took it easy the first half of the day, drank coffee and watched TV with a heating pad on my neck. I decided to swim for my exercise today. The warm water of the pool felt really good on my muscles. I split my pool time equally between backstrokes and kicks (holding onto the kickbar). Total I did 45 minutes, 1200 backstrokes, 600 freestyle kicks, 400 backstroke kicks, 200 reverse crunches (holding onto kickbar too), 200 ab/adductor kicks. I also stretched afterward. I like stretching in the pool. The water is warm, and the boyancy helps me do some stretches I can't do otherwise.

Awesome, Chris. I woke up today with a backache which ended with a trip to the Chiro (couldn't hardly move) but am feeling better now. I always loved doing the Valentine stuff with the kids. I'm a little bit jealous.
Sleep tight.
