Day 60 WooHoo!!Friday, January 27, 2012
Today I did 30 minutes on the elliptical (at a pretty fast pace, 3x10 min), weights (delts and glutes), and my non-crunch ab routine. I also finally got a good stretching session in. I've been neglecting the stretching, and I feel it in my calves and feet overnight. ![]()

Way to go on your streak! And it is so awesome that your hubby is getting in on the healthy train. It makes it so much easier on us when our husbands are supportive (whether or not they need to lose the weight - mine is a beanpole!). Have a great weekend!

I add two cups of fresh spinach to my smoothies... so 1.5 cups frozen berries, 2 cups spinach, 4 oz plain green yogurt, and a packet or two of truvia with fiber... oh and water as needed to thin it out. That's about as close as I get to sludge... LOL. Now I feel like an underachiever!

Great job on the 60 days!! Are you going to keep going? I'm not sure I could drink your "green sludge" but it sounds really healthy. Congrats for Brian to get going on improving his exercise and diet. Ed's to the point where he's thinking about improving his eating - he's increasing his vegetable and fruit intake and decreasing the amount of the less-healthy food that he normally gravitates to. It's a big change for someone who loves to eat. Report Inappropriate Comment |

Today I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, weights (biceps, delts, chest press, quads), crunches (regular, bicycle, reverse), and then I got outside and jogged for 2.25 miles (31.5 min). I will stretch after I eat a little.
The problem between Patrick and his friend got resolved. I finally got a hold of his mom (my best friend). His friend thought it was mutual horsing around and didn't mean to humiliate Patrick. Patrick accepted his apology. I still think it was poor judgement on his friend's part, but he's a teenager. They do lots of stupid things.
Hubby is still trying to eat better. I made him salads to take to work this week. He says he's walking for 10 minutes each day at work. He also says this IS the year he gets healthy.
I took a look at my weight tracker. I realized that my goals were set for June 8th, 2011. Hmmm. That deadline passed, so I adjusted things. My goal weight is still 150 lbs, but I'll aim to get there by October 8th, 2012 now. That's our 18th wedding anniversary, and about 3-4 lbs a month. If I keep up the 10 minute/day challenge, I should at least come close to that goal. I usually handle the weight in about 5 lb increments. First step right now, get to the low 170's. I've been eating tons of veggies, and doing well with low carb. I feel good, and I'm exercising a ton. I've logged over 1500 fitness minutes this month, and I've done weights three times a week every week (assuming I get my third time this week done tomorrow). I'm doing the elliptical, swimming and jogging. My upper body feels so much stronger. I just have to keep at it!

I think it's great how early on there were times it seemed like just getting 10 minutes was tough, but you did it ... and now you've got days you're breezing past 10 minutes for a much fuller workout. I'm glad it got reasonably worked out with your son's friend - hopefully he takes that to heart and thinks more in the future about the impact on others. Tough for a teen to do sometimes.
