Day 45

Thursday, January 12, 2012

I did 60 minutes on the elliptical today, all at one time, not divided like I normally do. I also did weights, and a non-crunch ab routine. I hope to stretch later.

I hate these frigid temps! I want our unseasonably warm weather back. I guess it's coming back a little on Sunday.

Tomorrow we will be celebrating Stevie's 10th birthday. He's having a sleep over with seven of his friends. Wish me luck! I hope I can keep them all occupied through the night. We have the pool, and a couple of game systems, and a movie planned too. Stevie is really excited. It should be a lot of fun for him.

That wind was ridiculous today! I'm with you... Bring back the 50s!! Way to go on the elliptical! I'm not sure I could do sixty minutes straight. I did fifty last week and it felt like forever. Ugh!

Today was your 1-1/2 month mark - great job!! Awesome on the elliptical and all your other exercise. Have fun with Stevie's party - the big 10. I'm sure you'll have plenty to keep them going well into the night. Have a nice weekend.

Very nice! I don't think I'd last 10 minutes on the elliptical right now.

Day 44

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Today I swam to give my body a break from the jogging and elliptical and weights. I swam for 30 minutes including 1200 backstrokes (500+700). Today is early out so we'll be having some friends over. Only the older three kids will have friends. I've decided to split it up. I'm going to bake cookies for them. I WILL be good and not eat any. I've been great with my nutrition since Jan 3rd. I've already baked twice this week without indulging. I made herbed biscuits on Monday and cornbread yesterday.

I'd better get my dipping veggies out in advance. That should help me avoid the bad stuff.

Good job, Chris. I don't know about up your way but it was cold and windy today by the time I got up. Feels more like winter - I agree that it would be fun to be able to swim right now.

Day 43- Streak intact and going strong!

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

The projected high today, January 10th, is 58 degrees. I decided to walk/jog today for my workout. I'm glad I did. It lifts my spirits so much to get outside. I went a total of 4.5 miles, three one-mile jogs, the rest walking intervals. I also did weights and crunches. I'll get my stretching in sometime later. My calves need that.

So I'm going to keep my blog short today. I want to get outside some more and need to get off the computer to do that.

Have a sunshiney day everyone!

Day 42 of 10 min/day

Monday, January 09, 2012

Today I rested all morning. Sean stayed home sick today, so I hugged him up. I also didn't sleep well all weekend. I rarely do when I'm working. So at 2pm today I rushed to get my workout in before the rest of the kids came home from school. I did 30 min on the elliptical, weights, non-crunch ab routine, and I hope to stretch later.

I'm still eating well also. I didn't break down and have cookies or M&M's, both were offered to me at work. I stuck to my veggies. I'm getting to the point where the thought of eating back turns my stomach. I hope I stay that way.

I enjoyed the sun this afternoon. Sean and I walked down to the school to pick up the kids. He's not really that sick, thankfully. I plan to enjoy this good weather every chance I get.

Good job on the exercise! I'd like to say that I've avoided said cookies, m&m's, etc but I'd be lying to us both. I need to up the calorie burn just a little more. One more night of work and then (hopefully) I'll become more productive. My streak is still going, though. Hope Sean feels better soon.

So glad you've avoiding the junk! I have to admit I've been using a little candy here and there to get over my "poor me I can't eat wheat anymore" fits, but I'm staying below 100 total carbs (my goal right now) and within my calorie ranges. I need to get my fiber up more, but that won't happen until I quit spending my carbs on candy! :)

This weather is just awesome! Glad to hear that you had a pretty good day and way to avoid the cookies and M&M's at work (I wouldn't be so strong!)!

Day 41

Sunday, January 08, 2012

Taking a little break at work to post a quick blog. It's been a busy weekend here, but I'm making myself take breaks. I just took a long walk to the exit door to the employee parking lot (opposite side of the facility than where I work). I was good and returned to work, but I also took a short trip up the stairs. I made it up 5 flights before coming down three to where I work. I might have been able to do a little more, but was worried about getting all sweaty at work.

My official exercise for the day is 20 minutes on the elliptical. I started off slow, but was able to increase the pace to my normal.

I forgot to mention another goal I'm working on. At home, I have the tendency to ask the kids to go get things for me, especially items from the basement. We have an extra refrigerator down there, and shelves full of food from Sam's/Costco. I've made it a goal to go get things myself, thus increasing the number of stairs I do in a day. Most days it works well. The day after I jogged last week, stairs were tough, but I did them anyway to try to work out all that lactic acid in my muscles.

I'm looking forward to another great week of workouts and eating veggies!!!

I've noticed lately that I have the same habit of asking the kids to fetch things, so I've been making an effort to stop that as well... It really helps me get my steps in! Great minds think alike!

Nice way to add some activity AND get away from the desk for short periods of time.
