Why do I so quickly forget?!

Friday, April 29, 2011

Every time I remember to check in on Sparkpeople, I'm encouraged, motivated, ready to make changes for a healthier life! Then I stop checking in and I'm unmotivated, lazy, and back into bad habits. Why can't I just remember to come here EVERY DAY for my "attagirl" boost?! I manage to check other websites that matter. This needs to become one that matters ALOT.

Will I ever get this?!

Wednesday, March 02, 2011

Been doing some of my famous "spark-stalking" again. I seem to get a little obsessed if I do the whole tracking thing. But I'm going to make baby steps toward improvement. My eldest child and I have decided to keep each other accountable on our water consumption (baby steps, remember!) and we found a cardio dance workout video we're going to start using. We both agree that our favorite workouts have always come as the result of some dance number we've worked on for some show we've been in so we decided to go with what works!!!

Dancing is SO FUN! It may not be the BEST overall workout but it's moving, burning and FUN! I LOVE IT! I figure I'll work my way back up to Crossfitting & weights. For now, Zumba it is! It's all about the babysteps. If you jump in with both feet hard, you fail faster, then quit faster. GO GIRL, dance your way to fit!!!!!!

Good day!

Thursday, May 13, 2010

To avoid obssessive type behavior (checking my spark page dozens of times a day, spending WAY too much time finding ways to earn spark points, etc.) I've sort of been "spark stalking". I've been reading posts, checking out recipes, etc. and not much else. I have been watching what I eat, making sure I move more, and generally trying to make wiser choices.

When I started this journey - yet again - I had gotten to the worst weight I've ever been at. Weighed in today and I'm down 12.2 pounds total in the last 2 1/2 or 3 weeks. And that's during the final two weeks of getting a show on stage which is usually the time of lousy eating habits and way to much junk food!

Need to commit to this AGAIN!

Sunday, May 02, 2010

I mentioned in an earlier blog that I tend to obsess with this whole thing. So my overreaction drives me to do basically nothing! I need to find a way to get the help from Sparkpeople that will motivate me to a healthier weight and life without letting it dominate my day!

I've also decided that I am ready to just start "forcing" healthier foods, snacks, etc. on my family. I'm nervous about conveying an unhealthy attitude in the presence of my daughters - one of whom does NOT need to lose an ounce! - and need to find a way to make the menu changes about health, not weight loss.

Any recipe ideas? Guess that's as good a place to start as any!

Bear with me

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Went over my "fat numbers" last night but don't honestly care! Sounds strange I know but it's the kind of thing that would normally wig me out. My family went out with another family that we've gotten to be friends with since moving to Iowa and I enjoyed a dinner that put me a little over the top but it didn't cause me to go into self destruct mode like usual. Taking that as a small victory - not overreacting emotionally is an improvement for me!

Hi there. Thought I'd leave you a note. The nutrition tracker has been the key for me. I've learned to plan my meals and enter them in the tracker a day or two ahead. It helps me to see my plan clearly and stick with it ... it it isn't in the tracker, I don't eat it. All I count in the tracker is calories. I don't pay attention to any other numbers because I figure it all boils down to that formula ... calories in / calories out. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!
