I've been at a conference the last few days and it's so nice to be home and get back to normal in terms of exercise, food, sleep, etc. Thank God for the conference and thank God for being home again!

I started my day today about 6:30, it's now 10 pm and I'm just wrapping it up. It's been so good--I had an hour-long conversation with a friend from India, hung out with other church planters for a few hours (and got a free lunch along the way), worked on some projects, and then attended the beginning of a weekend conference--and yet I'm so tired.

I'm going to do a workout on the bike today called "The Matchbook Maker." Here's how it goes:

Find a stretch of road where you can do a handful of uninterrupted 3-5 minute efforts. Push the pace until itís uncomfortable and hang on for 3 minutes. Recover for 2 minutes and then repeat 2 times. Repeat this exercise until you can complete 5 such efforts and then do 3 efforts of 4 minutes, working up to 5 efforts, and then do 3 efforts of 5 minutes, working up to 5 efforts.

This workout is designed to increase aerobic capacity and aerobic endurance. I've loved it every time I've done it, although it is painful at times, and I've certainly improved a lot as a cyclist.

    I will definitely keep this in mind when I start training for my first triathalon scheduled next March.
