SO Grateful

Sunday, December 06, 2009

We had a wonderful time of worship at church today followed by a meal which we eat every month together in celebration of Jesus' death and resurrection. Then I finally had the time to get some things ready for a meeting we have tonight and I'm just about to go finish decorating our house for Christmas.

And in it all, I am just overwhelmed with thankfulness to the Lord--for what he has done in making a way for our sins to be forgiven through simple belief in him, in making a way for us to be reconciled to God, in forming the church--his bride, his body--in providing so many things for us all whether we trust in him or not.

He is SO good and I'm SO grateful! Thank you, Lord.

I think for each of us it is important to take the time to really think about the sacrifice made on our behalf. At lunch I read to the family from the daily bread about how Jesus gave up His place in Heaven, which is far more beautiful than we can imagine to come here, be mocked and give His life in pain, so that we would have the opportunity to have salvation...amazing love!

Great Workout Today

Saturday, December 05, 2009

I haven't been able to workout for the last few days so I decided to have a long one today and boy was it fun! I jogged/walked for 30 minutes, did 1 rep of 20 different exercises (freeweight & machine), and then rode the stationary bike for 60 minutes. Oh that felt good!

Now I'm off to get some outdoor Christmas supplies and work on the house with the fam. Thanks, Lord, for a great day so far!

Good Movie, Bad Decision

Friday, December 04, 2009

My daughter and I watched a great movie last night, "The Blind Side." As good as the movie was, my decision at the theater was bad--I had a small popcorn (no butter at least), a box of junior mints, and a large icee. Oh, what was I thinking? I guess I wasn't.

Well thank God, it's a new day and a new chance to make good decisions!

I thought it was a great movie too
I usually skip the popcorn, I worked at a movie theatre for 3 years and after all the free popcorn while working I hate paying for it now.

Hey man, don't look at the negatives of the popcorn and icee, but rejoice in the time you spent with your daughter. That is great.

I want to see this movie too, not in my location yet.

It is so hard to resist the popcorn it is good especially after the article about how bad it is. I know your not supposed to bring stuff in but it is better for me if I do so the next time I go I am going to bring in the Trail Mix, recipe from Spark, drink water, and enjoy the movie. Good luck at your next movie adventure.

Daddy-Daughter Date Today

Thursday, December 03, 2009

Each week I take my 15 year old daughter out on a date. I've done this since she was very little, maybe 3 or 4. Oh how I love her! It is such a privilege to be her daddy and to watch her becoming a young woman now. How I pray that in my love for her she'll see how much more God loves her, and much more perfect his love is than mine.

Flying Back Home Today

Wednesday, December 02, 2009

I'm traveling back home today and I'm so grateful. I haven't had my fill of spinach in days, and my body's crying out for all kinds of good stuff it's been denied since I've been here. Eating well is hard when you're traveling, especially in a conference or seminar setting, so I'm glad I don't have to do it much!
