Creatine & Weight Gain

On the advice of the manager of my gym I've started using creatine as part of my strength training supplements. The label says that some people see a weight gain of up to 5 pounds in the first week or so, for me it's been 2-3. It's water gain, of course, but I must admit that I don't like seeing the scale go up. But I'm determined to stay the course as it says this usually only lasts for the first week or two.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

So far so good. I completed week one no prob, week two was a little more challenging for me even though it only calls for me to run for 90 seconds at a shot. I have always hated running and honestly I wondered a couple of times how I could possibly keep going for 2 or 3 or 5 or 30 minutes but I'm taking it one "step" at a time. I am actually enjoying the challenge and look forward to seeing how I do next week when the runs jump up to 3 minutes at a time.

I know for some of you this blog is laughable but for me running is a major challenge. I rode my bike for almost 2500 miles this year and love to do that but again running has never been my think. In fact, the reason I'm doing this is because I think it will help me ride better, and more specifically, climb better. But we'll see.

    Great job training and running! I'm not a fan of running either, though I love to walk and bike. Keep it up! You're doing great! emoticon

Not Feeling Well Today

I'm detoxing from caffeine and I feel horrible right now. I know I'll come out of it in a day or two but wow do I ever hate these "dulldrums." However, I must say that I'm so thankful to the Lord for giving me a few days where I could get by with it!

Back on Track with Food--And it Sure Feels Good!

For the last couple of days I've turned the tide back around and have been eating very well. I can already feel the difference, although I wasn't eating that bad. It's amazing how the body rebels against us when we don't give it what it needs.

But again, it sure feels good to be back on track and literally be craving things like spinach!

    WOW I have never craved spinach, but I rediscovered apples and my body loves me for it.

Over the last couple of months strength training has become an important part of my exercise regimen. After consulting with two experienced, trusted friends I've started using the following supplements:

Whey Protein in the morning and post-workout
Creatine in the morning and pre-workout
Glutamine post-workout and in the evening
