Working Way Too Much

Sunday, October 11, 2009

I've been working way too much lately and it's not good for the diet. I find it so easy to revert to old habits when I get this busy and I hate that. Thankfully, the next several weeks look much more normal and boy am I ready for it. I've worked 7 or 8 weeks of 70+ hours and I've had enough!

I'm going to be thinking through my schedule pretty carefully with my co-workers to try to ensure that a season like this doesn't happen again. But the truth is, sometimes life is just filled with things that must be done and I have much to learn about maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the midst of such times.

Silly season with work plays havoc with my healthy eating plan too. Glad your work is getting back to normal and your eating is getting back on track.

Not Feeling Well Today

Thursday, October 08, 2009

Feel a little sick and burnout today. I have so much to do but I'm shot--so what's a guy to do? I'll do the best I can, try to keep making good decisions, and trusting in the Lord.

I'm So Sleepy

I am SO sleepy right now. Luckily I can lay down for a bit before I have to get a few things done so I'm hoping I can nod off here. ZZZZZZZ

Scale Heading in the Right Direction Again

Tuesday, October 06, 2009

As I said a while back, the scale was going backwards on me there for a bit but I just stuck to my guns, refused to panic, and thanks be to God it's heading in the right direction again. Hopefully, I can begin losing again soon!

Going Backwards

Monday, October 05, 2009

I'm not sure what's happening. I have been a little less disciplined about eating over the last two weeks due to unusual busyness but not much. I have been strength training three days per week which I have not previously done. I have been taking a strength-training supplement, AMP Whey Protein, for post-workout recovery which the saleswoman said can lead to water weight-gain (but then she also said it could lead to dehydration so I left slightly confused).

Maybe it's one or all of these things but I've been weighing in at 3-5 lbs higher each day than I have been over the last couple of months. I DO NOT like weighing in higher as I've been on a plateau for months and been trying to break through it. It's depressing to go up when you're working so hard to go down but alas I'm just going to keep doing the right things and then rest in the Lord because I can't control my weight, only my habits.

Any thoughts?

Yes I know that feeling.....it IS very frustrating...Myself personally always find I must almost starve myself under 1000 calories a day consistently in order to achieve goal weight. I hate that but as I have struggled for years with my weight,I do know what works for me. If I do what dieticians tell me,I either maintain my same weight indefinately or even gain slowly back some pounds. I'm thinking I have the metabolism of a Galopagos turtle!
