I so look forward to having a more normal week this week especially because it means that I will be able to sleep well all week--Lord willing. It's amazing how much sleep effects ones desire to eat well or not, and I can use some improvement in that area right now. So I'm up now to go eat a great breakfast and get my week started on the right track!

Lots of Snow this Morning--Making me Want XC Ski

Wow, was I surprised to see the white landscape this morning! I haven't been watching the news lately and, though I had heard about the possibility, I wasn't thinking much about snow--after all it's only Oct 12! But there it is. I think we must have got 1-2" here in the NW suburbs of the Twin Cities.

It won't last long but it is making me long for the colder weather and deeper snow so that I can get out on the cross-country ski trails! I wasn't in very good shape last year and I'm excited to see what I can do out on the trails this year having trained pretty consistently since January.

    See I woke up, opened the door to let the dog out and the sight of it made my stomach drop. It's too early! Frost on the Pumpkins is one thing, an inch of snow is entirely unacceptable until Thanksgiving. ;)

Working Way Too Much

I've been working way too much lately and it's not good for the diet. I find it so easy to revert to old habits when I get this busy and I hate that. Thankfully, the next several weeks look much more normal and boy am I ready for it. I've worked 7 or 8 weeks of 70+ hours and I've had enough!

I'm going to be thinking through my schedule pretty carefully with my co-workers to try to ensure that a season like this doesn't happen again. But the truth is, sometimes life is just filled with things that must be done and I have much to learn about maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the midst of such times.

    Silly season with work plays havoc with my healthy eating plan too. Glad your work is getting back to normal and your eating is getting back on track.

Not Feeling Well Today

Feel a little sick and burnout today. I have so much to do but I'm shot--so what's a guy to do? I'll do the best I can, try to keep making good decisions, and trusting in the Lord.
