Good Day but Little Time

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

It's been a really good day but I've been going since 6.30 a.m., it's now 10:45 p.m. and I need to go to bed! See ya!

Soup & Watermelon Today

Monday, August 24, 2009

I take one day off per week and I tend to just rest the whole day. Because it's a pretty low key day I cut my cals way down on Mondays which today means I'll be eating soup and watermelon, pretty much nothing else. Soup because we just made a fresh batch yesterday afternoon and I can't wait to devour it; watermelon because our church put on an event this weekend and had a bunch of watermelons left over so I ended up taking three of them home and have to eat them before they go bad!

But it's not exactly a sacrifice: watermelon is my favorite and we don't get it year-around in Minnesota so I'll enjoy it while I can.

Ah yes, a day off, fresh home-made soup, and watermelon--thanks so much, Lord!

I like your strategy of eating fruit and soup on Mondays, I too observe a similar regimen on Mondays.

Ah Yes, a Day Off

Sunday, August 23, 2009

It's been a long week. I've put in over 70 hours at work and plenty more at home. I'm sure glad that tomorrow's my day of rest--I'm going to squeeze it for all it's worth!

Helping Others for the Glory of Christ

Saturday, August 22, 2009

I have the privilege of serving as the Pastor of Glory of Christ Fellowship in Elk River, MN. Today we hosted an event at which we gathered food and school supplies for needy families. We're giving all we gathered to a local non-profit called Community Action Elk River, or CAER.

The reason we put this event on is because we love Jesus Christ and he has taught us to care for those in need. So our prayer is that his name will be praised because of our efforts and others will be helped.

I Didn't Have to Wimp Out

Friday, August 21, 2009

Well, I was going to exchange my outside bike ride for an inside one yesterday because I was too wimpy to ride in the rain. Most days I don't care and actually enjoy riding in it but yesterday...I don't know, I just felt wimpy. But just as the time for riding was approaching the clouds broke and I was able to take a brisk one hour ride along one of my favorite country roads.

Thanks, Lord!
