"Low Cal Monday"

Monday, June 01, 2009

Monday is my one day off each week, and for the last several weeks I've been going very low cal on these days. I work hard from Tuesday through Sunday and thus I usually do a bunch of nothing on Mondays. So it doesn't make sense to me to eat my normal cal load on these days. I've been shooting for 1200-1500 cals on these days which leaves me satisfied (because I'm just laying around) and usually a little lighter the next day!

So, I don't know if it's the best idea but "Low Cal Monday" works for me!

Nice 40 Mile Ride Today

Sunday, May 31, 2009

I just returned from a great 40 mile ride in the woods with a great friend of mine, and I must say that I really love cycling. What a great gift from the Lord!

What it's All About

Saturday, May 30, 2009

My wife and I had the privilege of meeting last night with a woman who's given her life in service to the Lord in India. As we listened to her stories, her hopes and dreams, her concerns and needs, it hit me all the more that healthy living is not an end in itself--it simply prepares you to give yourself to more important things. The better I feel, the more energy I have, the clearer my mind is, the more I will be able to give myself in service to the Lord and others.

Lost Another Pound

Friday, May 29, 2009

My main focus with SP is living a healthy life, and therefore weight loss is secondary for me. But I must admit that I enjoy losing pounds and I lost another one today. That makes 17 lbs since March 21, and about 33 to go until my goal. Long way to go, but I'm getting there one pound at a time!

Wow, didn't gain on my trip!

Thursday, May 28, 2009

I have been traveling for the last 10 days and haven't been near a scale. I exercised almost every day but I definitely overate as I was unable to completely control my environment--I did pretty well, but I know I overate.

Well, I'm home now and I was pleasantly surprised to see that I haven't gained at all! I didn't lose but I didn't gain, so I am one happy camper!

Congratulations on not gaining. Traveling can be tricky especially since there aren't the healthiest choices in airports. Good job! emoticon

Congratulations on not gaining. It is so hard to control our eating when we are traveling. Glad you did good. emoticon
