Feeling Better

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

I have to say that i have enjoyed Spark People more than any other diet program I have done...and beleive me, I have done it all. I like this because I can have the convenience of having on my phone, I like having a range, and the marketing works, because I am motivated by the SP points. I have done this 12 days now, and I hope that it continues.

Pressing on

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

I have stuck with this consistently for 11 days. I have lost 10 pounds as of last Saturday, and I am continued to be motivated. I press on, and encourage others to do the same.

Snow Day! Though it is only about 4 inches of snow, it seems to be sandwiched between ice, and the high today here in North East Texas is not to go above 30. We made the call yesterday to cancel school today because of the roads. So today we are in the house all day.

My biggest worry today is sticking to the plan. I eat out of boredom, and today will be boring. I struggled yesterday, but stuck to it. My wife and I have already planned a Wii tourney with the kids today, so this will help.

I am going to enjoy the day, looking forward to the sun.

Hope boredome did not get the best of you! I also have to stay busy otherwise I just end up eating. So far I have stayed quite active and have kept my hand out of the cookie jar.

We have a snow day here in the Denver area, too. We get snow every year, but not many snow days. We have about 10 inches and the roads are packed. Enjoy your snow day and instead of eating from boredom, may do some exercise. My plan it to play with wii today and maybe a workout DVD too.

Our First Snowfall

Sunday, January 09, 2011

Being a Texan, we don't get much of this stuff, and I am thankful for that, however, I do enjoy it when it comes. I decided to cancel church today, for it is supposed to get worse before it gets better. Giving us the opportunity for a lazy Sunday morning. I have spent the morning making Minestrone Soup ( A Sparkpeople recipe), playing with the children, and a Wii workout!!! Good times.

Carpe Diem

Happy Snow Day! As a New Englander, I'm very familiar with the power of soup. Don't let the snow keep you inside! Get out and play!

I am in Texas, too, getting our first snowfall for the year, as well. Minestrone soup will taste good on a cold day like this. Enjoy and have a great week!

And you have won a BRAND NEW CAR...

Saturday, January 08, 2011

After you give us $400 per month for the next six years. That has been my day. Last night on the way home from shopping, my wife and I discovered that the third set of tires in a year were worn out on our van. after the second 1st set wore out, we blamed it on the the bad tires. After the second set wore out, we had some work done to prevent this from happening. The third set was the big indicator that something was wrong with our 6 year old well over 100k miles van. I was frustrated, and told my wife I was of good mind to get another vehicle, and, despite the fact that I was not really being serious, that is what we spent our day doing. Not that I like having a car payment again, but it is a nice treat to be able to drive without the car knocking, squealing, shaking, vibrating, and being just dirty.

The worst thing about buying a new car...the hours at the dealership. One would think that in the days of modern technology that the process could be expedited. We missed lunch, and were starving by 5:00, so we went to Braums. One can't go to Braums without having ice cream. Despite my ice cream, I managed to stay in limits because of the grilled chicken salad. I did not get to exercise or accomplish my water intake, but I have a happy wife, and that is what matters today. I will get after it tomorrow and do better.

But on the bright side: I lost 11 pounds this week!!!!!
