All moved in!

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

We're quite happy in our new smaller place. Downsizing went well and what took hubby and I a month to pack, took two young men...2 1/2 hours to move... wow!

It was hard for John, who usually moves and lifts everything, to sit and watch others do it...but we got through it just fine.

Most everything is put away and still have a few pictures to hang up...but doing well.

We're happy to be able to grill outside again and this place is sooo peaceful and conducive to rest, relaxation and restoration...ahhhhhhh.

We've been grilling out every night and eating lovely grilled corn, peppers, tomatoes, onions and anything else I can think to throw on that baby.... yum.

Trying to eat healthy and drink my water but have not exercised AT ALL!!!! UGH
Did I say UGH??? lol Yeahhhhh

I decided that I would start taking little walks and mapped out a mile from our place...but haven't done it yet. John said he'd walk with me....yay.

Guess I'll start on the 2nd of July because the 1st is my 53rd birthday and I'ma' gonna' party..haha.

Hope everyone is having a happy summer.

Should be back in full sparkymode swing starting July 2nd.
Look forward to sparking again!

I do think there is such a thing as bifocal contacts. Can't quite imagine how you'd hit your focus though :) I went back to wearing glasses at 30 after my second and last child had been born. Enough with the vanity. Now, at going on 50, I'm vying for lasic. However it's a huge chunk of money, so it might never happen...

Have a wonderful Easter.

about bifocal contacts: I have read about doctors who prescribe one eye for distance and one eye for close up...(this sounds crazy to me as I need in between a lot)....then there are some lenses that have variable corrections...(I can picture my eyes rolling around trying to find the proper strength)....[I have never worn contacts as I only need off the shelf readers at present...so who am I to comment on this???] LOL

Love your answers... emoticon

The Path Is Sometimes Frightening

Monday, April 18, 2011

It's all how you look at it, isn't it!

The path can be frightening and full of rocks and cracks and potholes..and instead of turning around and running back to your comfort zone, ...you can turn it all around by choosing to look at that very same path in a different way.

Instead of "frightening", you can look at it as an amazing adventure, just waiting for you..full of new experiences and people to meet, ..new things to discover with lots of blessings!

Don't be afraid,...just believe.

Have a happy week ahead!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Every time I get going..something gets in my way!!! My children's father was diagnosed with level 4 lung cancer..so my daughter came up from Alabama for 2 weeks to visit and spend time with her dad. (not my current husband, John)

So..there goes the plan..right out the window!

I will keep mounting the horse and eventually...WE WILL RIDE!!!! haaaaaaa

Life just seems to want to sweep you away at times, doesn't it!

Guess I'll just call myself the Champion of New Beginnings because that's all I seem to do is start over again and again and again and again and again.

Oh well...I'm good at it...lol.

Hope all you sparky lovely people have a wonderful day and get out to enjoy the sunshine.

Spark on!

Hello, hope you're be back on the improved health journey soon. I'm beginning again myself and taking the reentry slowly. Hope to get back into a healthier path myself soon but got to change several bad habits I regained during the pervious few months. At least I can walk again and have started a small walking program inside my house for the time being. Best wishes.

The important part is that we DO start over --- we DON'T give up --- no matter what!!! We keep on keeping on!!! woohoo for that part! I think somewhere I read that the road to success seems to have a lot of detours or something like that --- and isn't it true?!?!?! detours! lol! I love it and that sure is great visual!

Hope your Wednesday will be wonderful! Sending hugs and blessings your way ---

That's all we can do is keep trying, starting over again if life pushes us back down. Sorry to hear about the bad news but I hope you got to visit with your daughter some while she was in town.

Welcome back, me!

Monday, February 21, 2011

I'm tracking my food today and I got hubby to do the one mile walk /Leslie Sansone indoor/ with me today. He made it to a half mile and I finished the full mile. Well, that's a start..and I'm proud of us! We're going to start a healthy heart diet. The doctor says that he will have to have a defibrillator put in in several months and so that's that.

He's been going through a depression. As an over the road truck driver, his world was always moving...rollin', rollin', rollin'. Now...everything's different. His world has come to a complete STOP. My world was also moving with little hyper Haley and now my world has come to a complete STOP.

Time to get rollin' again..lol.

I was walking around the grocery store and noticed that my lower back muscles were starting to hurt. It's simply from being too sedentary. I don't like it...so, it's back to...
Begin Again...and that, I shall. It should be easy with John on board. I just know that he'll start feeling better after one week of doing the walking tape and eating healthier.

Time for the blues to go away and the sunshine to come out! (Unfortunately, here in our town in Michigan, we just had a good 6 inches of snow dumped on us last night..haha) Oh well..that's the way it goes, eh? :)

Please pray for us. I basically had to brow-beat John into exercising....but it worked...now we can build on it.

Day #1 : Success

Hope you're all doing well and accomplishing your goals.

See ya soon!

I'm so happy to read this blog! Welcome back first --- and then a big woohoo on that mile! I'm impressed -- it might only be a mile - but it's one more mile than you walked yesterday - right? I think it's great!

I will keep you and John in my prayers --- I'm sure it's really hard for him to be off the road and home -- and for you too -- big changes tend to give us big stress. I just know you will find your new normal -- it just takes time and lots of prayers. It makes me think of two little quotes that I like: nothing is bigger than our God ------- and: stop telling God how big your storm is - instead, tell the storm how big your God is!

I also wanted to thank you for stopping by my "Corn Recipe" blog and for your fun comments ---- you are so corny!!!!

Hope you are having a terrific Tuesday --- we just missed a big snow/ice storm last night -- yeah --- we're in Ohio and just happen to be in a pocket that tends to get missed quite often when the storms come through --- sounds like your Michigan "pocket" tends to get hit --- so sorry -- it's a bummer, I know --- but spring is coming soon!!! woohoo for that!!!

Welcome back - I'm still here, but stil have not been able to kick the Holiday Habits, if you know what I mean! Being retired, I understand the big STOP! when it's just the two of you together when previously you had "other lives" - it is a time of adjustment. We have not found it easy. I cannot get into a decent routine. We did get out and start walking when the weather was warmer, but we got about 8" yesterday!

One day at a time, one step at a time. You are an encouragement to me!
