Your Real Age..

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Take the Real Age Test to determine what your real age is ...based on your habits, lifestyle, nutrition. (just love that Dr. Oz!)

I had taken the test years ago and was horrified at the results...but am extremely pleased to see the new results and to find out that I am now closer to my current age!

I know that it's solely due to the positive changes that I've been making in my diet and habits since joining Sparkpeople!

It gave recommendations on supplements to take and tips on exercise, etc.

I look forward to taking the test again in the future. Perhaps I can get to the point where my "real age" is younger than my actual age. That would be awesome!

Keep sparkin'...it's good for your health!

Take the test... www.realage.com/

Excellent test! I'm 55 years, 2 months and was pleasantly surprised that my results showed 52 years, 7 months. Pretty much even-Steven, I guess. I'll definitely re-take the test when I'm down 30 or 40 pounds. Can't wait to see the results!

Keep up the good work -- you're doing great!

Great reminder that our actions can have a positive effect on our inner health. I been taking the Real Age test for a couple of years and slowly getting closer (i.e. descending) to my chronological age. emoticon Off to artsy fartsy class for the day.

I'm a few months younger than I am in Real Age which is great. Of course, when I lose weight, that number will probably go down along with some of the values that make it higher. It's like the rich get richer and the thin get younger. Or something.

Cheers, Deb

Oh, Michele, you just reactivated a reggae song they played over and over and over again at the resort called "It's a New Day" LOL! There are worse things to be playing in my head on a day when I feel the same way. A bit of zest for eating clean, exercising and getting on track.

Let's ease on down the road together with a big smile for our well-rested selves!

Well, well, well!!

What to blog about today? I'm happy that my sparkfriend is back from her vacation...hmmm..what else? I wish I'd accomplished more today..but I must admit..I've been a tad ..lazy? Yeah, lazy!! I should be cleaning out the front coat closet...but I'm not...just don't feel like it today.

Some days you just feel lazy...and that's okay! I'll just try to move this body more tomorrow.

Big storm a-brewin' for tonight and tomorrow in our neck of the woods. UGH!

At least the hubby is in South Carolina...he won't be driving in it!

Kind of feel ... blah, today. I think I'll watch a movie on tv or read.
Haley is gone until tomorrow. I guess I could take a nap..but don't want to waste time..lol.

Isn't that awful?!! Have loads of things "to do" on my list..but don't feel like doing any of them.

Okay...enough of that.... time to give myself one of my famous pep talks!!!!
Yeah, right..haaaaaaaaaaa ... Don't feel like doing that, either!

Don'tcha' just hate those gray..blah days? I know we all have them but...ugh!!

This too shall pass.

Lazy days give meaning to life - what would it be like if we couldn't have them once in a while. You're just recharging your batteries and will be off and running tomorrow. Enjoy this time - Haley will soon have you jumping!

Sorry you're feeling blue about the gray skies; it is kind of depressing to get Storm #Whatever-It-Is and be denied our natural right which is to AT LEAST have sunshine on the weekends...

Have your lazy day and appreciate the down time. Who says we always have to accomplish something? Aren't we supposed to be human BEINGS not human DOINGS as one self-help guru claims?

Sometimes when I'm left alone for the day after running around after people all the time, I feel a little disoriented and don't know what to do with myself. All these normal day-to-day obligations that feel so burdensome (sometimes) have a way of structuring me. In their absence, I sometimes feel the way that you do today. Only after the hurricane of activity resumes do I think of what I would have really liked to do! LOL

I'm glad I'm back too and thank you for being glad! This week is going to be an awesome reconnection to my program and Spark Friends!

xxxooo Deb

Hope your grey skies are turning blue or at least lightening up a bit and that the brewing storm will be mild compared to some of the more recent ones you've experienced. So what if you have blahs for housework, afterall we're talking about housework that is probably make work category rather than must do or else something negative will happen. For some amusement, why not drop by my blog for today and maybe get a chuckle or two. Best wishes for you.

Don't feel bed I've been having a lot of those grey days where I just didn't want to do anything. But this is Michigan and since when do we consider 5-7 inches a storm? My husband told me we had a major storm coming and then that we were expecting 5-7 inches and I'm like this is Michigan that isn't a storm that is flurries LOL. Every once in a while we need a lazy day as long as we get back on track and don't let it side rail us. Keep up the good work we will get through this together. Oh remind me to send you a better pic of storm clouds I have a wonderful one I took in Houghton Lake a couple years ago while I was working. Now that was a fun rain storm to dance in.

The Sun is shining!

Saturday, February 20, 2010

I'm so glad the sun is shining today!! It makes you feel good inside! Yeah!

It reminded me of a song I heard as a child!

Sunshine, Lollipops And Rainbows
Lesley Gore

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
That's how this refrain goes, so come on, join in everybody!

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
When you're in love to stay.

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
That's how this refrain goes, so come on, join in everybody!

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
'Cause you're in love, you're in love,
And love is here to stay!

Have a sunshiney day!

Don't get discouraged!

Friday, February 19, 2010

We all have setbacks but it's what we do with them that counts.

Good old Valentine's Day came and went and Haley and I made a lovely cheesecake for my hubby when he was home. He's gone now ..but the cheesecake is still here!! I ate 2 pieces yesterday and went over my calories...ugh. But, I know it's okay...I'll just begin again!

I could camp in poo poo cheesecake land or I can get back on the horse and ride!

So...saddle up!!! lol

Not gonna' let a little cheesecake mess with my head!!! haaaaaaaa

We fall down...but we get up. The whole key is "get back up".

My body feels great by feeding it nutritious food and I like that feeling...I don't want it to go away. I dont feel bloated and miserable like I used to.

Why is it so easy to allow ourselves to be dragged down by a minor "mis-step"...???

Forget that! Onward and upward! Keep moving forward and keep making progress. It doesn't matter how long it takes... it matters that we're continuing to make progress ...little by little..day after day!

Right!

Have a happy day!

Good for you! I've been reading extra articles lately and many of them have emphasized staying positive after a step backward. (Sometimes I question whether it's really a step backward. Maybe you needed to eat that cheesecake.) Anyway, you have a lot of steps forward to offset the backward one. Focus on those and keep up the great motivation!
