Two Years Already

Tuesday, December 03, 2013

Wow, I can't believe I have been on Sparkpeople for 2 years. I don't seem to have accomplished much if just look at the scale. I lost 7 lbs. that have stayed off and another 5 or so that I keep losing and gaining back. It seems I am stuck in one spot.

But there have been many other changes that I've noticed. I can walk quickly for 60 minutes. I can go up and down the stairs without running out of breath. I miss it when I don't get to do my workout. The nutrition tracker has really helped me see how much I eat and where the calories come from. I feel better about myself and the way I look, even at my current weight. I don't worry so much about what other people think of me any more, because I know that I am a work in progress.

Thanks Sparkpeople and all my Spark friends for your encouragement and help. You all inspire me to make better choices and to keep on moving.

I think that realization is the best sparkiversary gift you could possible give yourself. It's not about anyone else, and if you are happy with you the whole world is a brighter place.

Virtual Model

Thursday, March 14, 2013

I just did a virtual model of myself now and at my goal weight. Wow! It is very telling and very motivational. I REALLY want to look like the goal weight picture!

I looked like this at one time. I WILL look like this again.

Is there anything else I would like to share?

I have kind of enjoyed blogging this week. It has been good to think about some things, get them written down and get feedback. Thank you all for the great comments and encouragement. emoticon emoticon

I liked reading daily blogs from others more than I enjoyed writing them. I will have to make time to continue doing so.

Although I didn't necessarily like the daily blogging, I have gotten to know a lot more about myself and others. I guess it was worth it!

What can I improve upon?

Well for starters, my attitude. It is not always the best. Some days I lose my focus and don't care about exercise, tracking or eating healthy. I have to stop letting stress and day to day things interfere.

Then of course there is working on learning to like veggies and making sure I measure all my food. Sometimes I just don't care enough to do it. Most of the time I do it any way and am so glad I did.

Each day is a new day to do it right. To have a good attitude, to focus on my goals and to tell myself that each day I am worth it.

Attitude is hard to improve, but like so many other things, once you get it going in the right direction it will gain its own momentum.

Recognizing where you can improve is the first step! Perhaps you could place a visual reminder (a quote or a picture?) where you will see it to motivate you when you stop caring? I'm proud of your honesty with yourself!
