My summer has been wonderful and I am preparing to go out with a bang! I signed up for the 36 mile Providence Bridge Pedal on the 11th, get to go on a 3-day camping trip for the first time in 7 years and have that 30-mile hike to look forward to on the 24th. I am still hoping to find someone to go with me, but if that brave soul cannot be found...I will make the hike alone.

I made up most of my missed workout over the weekend and will continue to add a little each day to the current day's workout until all the spots on my progress card have been filled in. I'd rather not miss a workout because it's already a pretty good chunk of time out of my day, but I also won't let a missed workout go by the wayside without at least working hard to make it up...even if it is just one exercise, rep or set at a time.

Nothing is going to stop me from achieving my goals! :)

So, Kitty and I both had to cancel our workout last night due to a problem. Our cat got in a fight with a couple of raccoons a couple of weeks ago and his behavior last night leads us to believe he may have contracted rabies. He has been acting aggressive and has nearly chewed his tail off! We locked him up in the garage (the gym) to quarantine him, but he was at the back door this morning. Taking him to the vet this morning...hope its good news. Should be able to get in my workout today but can always postpone if necessary until Sunday. Going to make up yesterdays missed workout tomorrow, then going to find a nice, quiet hiking spot and enjoy the day! :)

I probably should have given myself a little recovery time after the 24.5 mile hike on Saturday, but I feel a need to give it everything I've got and push through while I have the chance. Once September hits, I won't have as much free time to spend on working out, so I want to make the most of every day, tired or not. However, I'm thinking the best course of action for this evening would be to go home, take a nap and re-evaluate whether or not working out this evening is a good idea.

  Some times the workout sounds like a lot. But remember how much better how mush better you feel after emoticon
