A DAILY SPIRITUAL OASIS (10/3/2011)!

MAKE A JOYFUL SOUND EVERYONE!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: - John 7:37-38 - "In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried, saying, " If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water".

TODAY'S MESSAGE: JESUS, THE FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER! (By MJRVIC2000).
1. Jesus proclaims Himself to be the place where the living water is found.
a. Jesus isn't the living water.
b. Jesus is the fountain where the living water is found.
c. The Holy Spirit is the Living Water (Vs 39).
2. Throughout the New Testament, water for drinking is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
a. The Holy Spirit shows sinners his need of salvation (John 16:8).
c. The Holy Spirit applies the Word of God in conviction (John 6:44).
c. The Holy Spirit baptizes new believers into the body of Christ ( 1 Cor 12:13).
d. The Holy Spirit seals the believer (Eph 4:30).
e. The Holy Spirit fills the believer and uses him for the glory of God (Eph 5:18).
3. PICTURE THIS: If the Holy Spirit is the Water of Life (and He is), then Jesus is the Fountain of Living Water. Before the Water of Life can be dispensed to a lost soul, the Fountaon of Living Water has to be opened. Have you satisfied your soul's thirst today? To be continued tomorrow.

TODAY'S PSALM: (By RSSSLHB) -
"I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies".

TODAY'S THOUGHT: (By DIDMIS) -
"If we empty our plate, we will not lose weight!"

TODAY'S PRAYER: (By MJRVIC2000) -
" Father in heaven, Almighty God! Do we listen to Your Word and put them into practice like we should? Do we build our life on the Rock or on the sand? Where is our foundation? Where is our Living Water? Help us not to put money, possessions, or any temporary thing upon which to build our life; because the rains will come and the water and winds will test it, and great will be the fall, or it will not be shaken. Show us the way of wisdom and help us to avoid the way of follies. Strengthen us by Thy Word and Thy Spirit. Enable us to remain faithful, and to glorify Your name always. And thank You Father for bringing THINLIN07's husband home from the hospital. These things we pray in Jesus' precious name, Amen!"

TODAY'S CLOSING: -
" May we each be blessed with the comfort that come from God and use it to comfort others". IN HIS CARE, Vic.

TODAY'S PSALM: (By RSSSLHB) - Ps 61:1-2

"Today is a gift, use it wisely".

TODAY'S INSTRUCTIONS: (By PASTORMIKE7) - From: "A Dead Man Speaks To The Living".
"Abel's sacrifice was a deliberate and purposeful act of worship (Heb 11:4). He brought the very best in faith as a response to God." Let us do likewise!
1. He speaks of life in faith.
2. He speaks of worship.
3. He speaks of excellance.
4. He speaks of Divine approval.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: (By MJRVIC2000) - Luke 5:38 -
"New wine must be put into new wineskins; and both will be preserved".

TODAY'S HYMN: THERE'S A FOUNTAIN FREE - 1876 (By Mary B. C. Slade & Dr A. B. Everitt).
1. There's a fountain free, tis for you and me: Let us haste, O haste, to it's brink;
Tis the fount of love from the Source above, And He bids us all freely drink.
REFRAIN!

2. There's a living stream, with a crystal gleam, From the throne of life now it flows;
While the waters roll let the weary soul, Hear the call that forth freely goes.
REFRAIN!

3. There's a rock that's cleft and no soul is left, That may not its pure water share;
Tis for you and me, and it's stream I see; Let us hasten joyfully there.
REFRAIN!

REFRAIN: Will you come to the fountain free?
Will you come, tis for you and me;
Thirsty soul, hear the welcome call;
Tis a fointain open for all.

TODAY'S CLOSING: (By MJRVIC2000) -
May God bless us by understanding our difficulties in parting with the past and by filling us with His Spirit.
IN HIS SPIRIT, Vic.

TODAY'S LIFE OF FAITH: (By PASTORMIKE7) -
When faith in God goes, Man the Thinker loses his greatest thought.
When faith in God goes, Man the Worker loses his greatest motive.
When faith in God goes, Man the Serverer loses his strongest help.
When faith in God goes, Man the Sufferer loses his securest refuge.
When faith in God goes, Man the Lover loses the fairest vision.
When faith in God goes, Man the Mortal loses his only home.

TODAY'S PRAYER: (By MIDORITHOMAS) -
"Loving Father, Almighty God! Thank You for the promise of a brighter tomorrow. We are grateful for Your presence and for the knowledge that You draw near to us each day. It is beautiful to think about the day when all of the sorrows of this life have been completely removed. Your word instructs us how to choose life. Help us not to lose sight of our goal to enter fully into Your presence. Help us not to focus on the pain, suffering, and disappintments of life, but on the beauty which You provide. Help us not to be deceived or get caught-up in those things which would cause us to veer off our path to glory. Ennable us to remember that this world is not our home, and that we are just passing through on our way to our ultimate destination....HEAVEN WITH YOU! Open our eyes so we may catch a glimpse of the wonderful things You have prepared for us. This we pray in Jesus' blessed name, Amen!"

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: (By MJRVIC2000) - Rev 2:10
"Be thou faithful.....and I will give you a crown of life".

TODAY'S MESSAGE: JESUS, THE FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER! (John 7:37-39).
1. In verse 2, the Jews were celebrating the FEAST of the TABERNACLES.
a. This feast ocurred during the first part of October.
b. During this seven day feast, the Jews lived in booths made of tree branches to commemorate thier forefather's pilgrimage through the wilderness.
c. Each day, the High Priest would draw water out of the Pool of Siloam and pour it over the sacrifice parts while the people sang to the Lord.
d. On the eighth day, there was no singing and no water poured.
e. The eight day was a solemn day of repentance.
f. Against this backdrop of solemn and symbolism, Jesus stood up and proclaimed Himself to be the "FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER".
2. PICTURE THIS: The pouring of water on the seven days was thought to have physical and spiritual significance. Water was not poured on the eighth day. It was then that Jesus stood up and spoke of "RIVERS OF LIVING WATER", signifying or making reference to the Holy Spirit. Do you sing to the Lord ? Do you gather together with the saints to worship the Lord? To be continued tomorrow.

TODAY'S CLOING: (By MJRVIC) -
May God help us to rejoice in Him as our CREATOR and SUSTAINER of all life.
In His Fountain, Vic.
