Greetings of joy to EVERYONE! A wise man will hear, and will increase learning (Prov 1:5). Praise God!

HYMN: "JESUS PAID IT ALL". The words to this hymn were written by Elvina M. Hall in 1865, and the music by John T. Grape in 1868. The inspiration for this hymn came from 1 John 3:16, "Jesus laid down His life for us". This hymn has 3 verses with a refrain.

1. I hear the Savior say, "Thy strength indeed is small,
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me, thine all in all". REFRAIN!

2. Lord, now indeed I find, Thy power, and Thine alone,
Can change a lepper's spot,
And melt a heart of stone. REFRAIN!

3. And when before Thy throne, I stand in Him complete,
I'll lay my throphies down,
All down at Jesus' feet. REFRAIN!

REFRAIN: Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe,
Sin has left a crinsom stain,
He washed it white as snow.

1. John shows us now a portait, HEAVEN'S BREAD HAS A PRICE (John 6:53-58).
a. Before HEAVEN'S BREAD can be enjoyed by a sinner, it must first be received by the sinner as a partaker of what Jesus did.
b. What did Jesus do? He died on the cross, was buried and arose again on the third day. He did this for us.
c. To make His sacrifice and our salvation a realty in our life, we must come to Him by faith, and take part in His death, burial and resurrection.
d. Those that eat of HEAVEN'S BREAD shall live forever ( Vs 58).
e. Those that do not eat of HEAVEN'S BREAD shall die forever (Implied, Vs 58).

2. PICTURE THIS: Imagaine that I have invited you for dinner at our house. I pass a plate of "hot buttermilk biscuits" to you and say, "Have a buscuit". To which you reply, YES", but you just sit there and smile in stead of reaching for one. I say to you, "I thought you wanted a biscuit?" You reply, "I do!" Then I say to you, "If you want a biscuit, you are going to have to reach out for it". Salvation works in the same way. Jesus offers us HEAVEN'S BREAD and we must reach out for it and partake of it. Have you partaken of HEAVEN'S BREAD? Your soul's life or death depends on it. To be conntinued Friday.

May God help us to understand that the fear (reverence) of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. In His Word, Vic.

    I heard a story of a man in England that was coming home from a soccer game and sat on the steps of a church. When they sang this hymn, he heard "melt the heart of stone" and his last name was Stone. The Lord saved him and called him into the ministry.

Jesus paid it all and I am forgiven of all that I could not pay. We cannot pay for even one sin.

I noticed your blog title in the updates.

GREETINGS OF LOVE TO EVERYONE! In all your ways acknowledge God, and He will direct your path". PRAISE GOD!

PRAYER: " Heavenly Father, Glorious God! Beyond that which words can interpret, ot theology explain, our souls feel a shower of refreshment that falls down like the gentle rain; refreshing our hearts that are parched with troubles and problems; searching to find the way to attract Your attention through a few poor chosen words. Sometines, not knowing or remembering that You in all Your wisdom can sense all our worries and woes. There is nothing we can conceal from You, O God, that You do not already know. So we kneel in prayer in Your presence, and we find no need to speak, for softly in silent communion, You grant us the peace we seek. Thank You for hearing our silent prayers and for answering them. This we pray in Jesus' Holy name, Amen!"

1. John now turns our attention to the the fact that HEAVEN'S BREAD HAS A PROMISE! (John 6:47-51).
a. The whole purpose of HEAVRN'S BREAD is to give life to man (Vs 47-48).
b. Again Jesus says, "I am the BREAD of LIFE". (Vs 48)
c. The whole reason why we need HEAVEN'S BREAD is so we will not die spiritually. (Vs 50).
d. THE PROMISE: (Vs 51), "I am the Living Bread which came down from heaven: if any man eats of this BREAD, he shall live forever.....". That's a GREAT PROMISE!
e. The BREAD is His flesh and He offers it for the life of the world (Vs 51). We partake of this BREAD the first day of each week to remember Him in the Lord's Supper.

1. PICTURE THIS: Physical bread will sustain life for a long time, but even if the body is well fed, it will die. Jesus, on the other hand, offers us BREAD that is everlasting. It is everlasting because He is everlasting. Do we want to die or to live? The choice is ours! To be continued Thursday.

May we be in Christ Jesus ( like milk and cookies, toast and jam, ham and eggs) for some things are better together. Have a blessed day, Vic.

A Tuesday Spiritual Hymn and Message!

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Aloha Everyone! A perfect statue never comes from a bad mold. Give God all the glory!

HYMN: "WONDERFUL WORDS OF LIFE": The words and music to this hymn was created by Philip P. Bliss in 1874, and arranged by Pam Stephenson in 1993.
The inspiration for this hymn came from John 6:63, "The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life". This hymn has 3 verses with a refrain.

1. Sing them over again to me, Wonderful words of life;
Let me more of their beauty see, Wonderful words of life;
Words of life and beauty, Teach me faith and duty; REFRAIN.

2. Christ, the blessed One gives to all, Wonderful words of life;
Sinner, list to the loving call, Wonderful words of life;
All so freely given, Wooing us to heaven; REFRAIN.

3. Sweetly echo the gospel call, Wonderful words of life;
Offer pardon and peace to all, Wonderful words of life;
Jesus, only Savior, Sanctify forever; REFRAIN.

REFRAIN: Beautiful words, wonderful words, Wonderful words of life;
Beautiful words, wonderful words, Wonderful words of life.

1. John is showing us the PERSONALITY of HEAVEN'S BREAD, and has shown us that HEAVEN'S BREAD IS A PERSON.....JESUS CHRIST!
2. Now, John shows us that HEAVEN'S BREAD HAS POWER! (Vs 35).
a. The heavenly BREAD (Jesus) has the power to save, secure, and satisfy every sinner who comes to Him by faith.
1. "He that comes to me shall never hunger".
2. "He that believes on me shall never thirst".
b. What separates Jesus from all the religions and self-proclaimed messaiah?
1. While they promise great things, they can deliver only death.
2. Jesus promises life, salvation, security, satisfaction and abosolute safety for the soul of man.....and HE CAN DELIVER!

3. PICTURE THIS! There is a correlation between that which is physical and that which is spiritual. People eat bread to satisfy physical hunger and to sustain physical life. We satisfy spiritual hunger and sustain spiritual life by having the right relationship with Jesus and by the power of His WORD. Bread has to be eaten in order to sustain life. Jesus is our Spiritual Bread and we have to partake of Him daily in order to sustain spiritual life. Are we starving? Do we thirst for Jesus and His Word? Have we put Jesus and His word on a diet? To be continued Wednesday.

May God enlighten us and guide us through our spirit and His WORD.
In His Blessed Word, Vic.

    My youngest DD when she was learning to pray would say "Give us this day our daily breath" I got to thinking we can control how much bread we eat but we have to rely on God for breathing

A Monday Prayer and Message!

Monday, September 19, 2011

Greetings of Divine Blessings To Everyone! Arriving at one goal is the starting point to the next goal. Praise God.

PRAYER: " Merciful and Almighty God! These are taxing time. Women are preys for robbers; children are prey to perverts; workers are cheated and abused; viloence is everywhere, and all kinds of evil doings are constantly going on. There is no fear of the Lord. There is no justice and no peace in this world, but praise be to You our God, we can find peace in our life now and justice in the world to come. The corruption and fraudulent activities of this world that encroaches on our worship to You will not go unanswered, for You O Lord, are a Holy, Just and Righteous God. Life here is unfair, but in the end Jesus wins, for He is our advocate and King. Thank You Father for being with us at all times , for helping us through these difficult and challenging times. This we pray in Jesus' blessed name, Amen!"

1. John is now going to show in this next portrait, THE PERSONALITY OF HEAVEN'S BREAD!
a. In John 6:34-35, - HEAVEN'S BREAD IS A PERSON!
1. Jesus replied and said, "I am the Bread of Life".
2. Jesus is saying, " I am the Bread that gives Life".
3. The life of which He is speaking is "Spiritual and Eternal".
b. The Bread of Heaven is not a system or a denomination; IT IS THE PERSON JESUS CHRIST.
1. We cannot be saved by some religious system or manmade method.
2. Salvation comes through Christ Jesus and Him only (Acts 4:12).

2. PICTURE THIS! John uses the first of seven self-descriptions of Jesus, introducing each by the words "I AM" (Vs 35). Jesus is the Life Giving Bread that came down from heaven (vs 33). We will see the other six self-descriptions later on in other chapters. Notice that the crowd has tasted physical bread and were thinking in a physical sense rather than a spiritual sense. Jesus therefore, had to lead their thinking and understanding that He was speaking of spiritual bread. What about our thinking? And what about our unserstanding? When we pray, are we aking Jesus for physical bread or for spiritual bread? To be continued Tuesday.

May our lives be a home to God's harmony, love and understanding.
In His Care, Vic.

A Saturday Spiritual Hymn and Message!

Saturday, September 17, 2011

Greetings to Everyone! Not for one day can I discern my way, but this I surely know: He who gives us the day will show us the way....and Jesus is both the Giver and the Way. Praise God.

Here is another hymn inspired by John 6:35, "I am the Bread of Life", and different from mine. The words were ctreated by Mary Artemisia Lanbury in 1877, and the music by William F. Sherwin, also in 1877. This hymn has two verses and no refrain.

1. Break Thou the Bread of Life, Dear Lord to me,
As Thou did break the loaves, Beside the sea;
Beyond the sacred page, I seek Thee Lord,
My spirit pants for Thee, O Living Word!

2. Bless Thou the truth, dear Lord, To me, to me,
As Thou did bless the bread, By Galilee;
Then shall all bondage cease, All fetters fall,
And I shall find my peace, My All in All.

1. In today's portrait, Jesus does what only God can do (John 6:4-13).
a. Jesus took 5 small loaves and 2 small fish and fed 5,000 men ( not including women and children), which would have made it closer to 15,000 people.
b. After all were satified, 12 baskets filled with fragments of the bread and fish were picked up, one for each doubting disciple.

2. PICTURE THIS! Since bread is a known substance and used by every society on earth, it is comsumed by people everywhere. Bread is one of the few foods that can be tolerated by most digestive system. Bread is a food that most people need and enjoy. My dad was a bread baker and we had "HOT BREAD" on the table every morning. When we consider all of this, it becomes clear why John portrays Jesus as "THE BREAD OF LIFE". Jesus, The Bread of Life, is something we all need daily ( Matt 6:11). Are you receiving your daily bread from heaven? Do you fill your stomach but neglect your soul? Are you a doubting disciple? To be continued Monday.

May our daily bread make us feel beautiful and satisfied in Christ Jesus.
In His Care, Vic.
