A Monday Prayer and Message!

Monday, September 19, 2011

Greetings of Divine Blessings To Everyone! Arriving at one goal is the starting point to the next goal. Praise God.

PRAYER: " Merciful and Almighty God! These are taxing time. Women are preys for robbers; children are prey to perverts; workers are cheated and abused; viloence is everywhere, and all kinds of evil doings are constantly going on. There is no fear of the Lord. There is no justice and no peace in this world, but praise be to You our God, we can find peace in our life now and justice in the world to come. The corruption and fraudulent activities of this world that encroaches on our worship to You will not go unanswered, for You O Lord, are a Holy, Just and Righteous God. Life here is unfair, but in the end Jesus wins, for He is our advocate and King. Thank You Father for being with us at all times , for helping us through these difficult and challenging times. This we pray in Jesus' blessed name, Amen!"

1. John is now going to show in this next portrait, THE PERSONALITY OF HEAVEN'S BREAD!
a. In John 6:34-35, - HEAVEN'S BREAD IS A PERSON!
1. Jesus replied and said, "I am the Bread of Life".
2. Jesus is saying, " I am the Bread that gives Life".
3. The life of which He is speaking is "Spiritual and Eternal".
b. The Bread of Heaven is not a system or a denomination; IT IS THE PERSON JESUS CHRIST.
1. We cannot be saved by some religious system or manmade method.
2. Salvation comes through Christ Jesus and Him only (Acts 4:12).

2. PICTURE THIS! John uses the first of seven self-descriptions of Jesus, introducing each by the words "I AM" (Vs 35). Jesus is the Life Giving Bread that came down from heaven (vs 33). We will see the other six self-descriptions later on in other chapters. Notice that the crowd has tasted physical bread and were thinking in a physical sense rather than a spiritual sense. Jesus therefore, had to lead their thinking and understanding that He was speaking of spiritual bread. What about our thinking? And what about our unserstanding? When we pray, are we aking Jesus for physical bread or for spiritual bread? To be continued Tuesday.

May our lives be a home to God's harmony, love and understanding.
In His Care, Vic.

A Saturday Spiritual Hymn and Message!

Saturday, September 17, 2011

Greetings to Everyone! Not for one day can I discern my way, but this I surely know: He who gives us the day will show us the way....and Jesus is both the Giver and the Way. Praise God.

Here is another hymn inspired by John 6:35, "I am the Bread of Life", and different from mine. The words were ctreated by Mary Artemisia Lanbury in 1877, and the music by William F. Sherwin, also in 1877. This hymn has two verses and no refrain.

1. Break Thou the Bread of Life, Dear Lord to me,
As Thou did break the loaves, Beside the sea;
Beyond the sacred page, I seek Thee Lord,
My spirit pants for Thee, O Living Word!

2. Bless Thou the truth, dear Lord, To me, to me,
As Thou did bless the bread, By Galilee;
Then shall all bondage cease, All fetters fall,
And I shall find my peace, My All in All.

1. In today's portrait, Jesus does what only God can do (John 6:4-13).
a. Jesus took 5 small loaves and 2 small fish and fed 5,000 men ( not including women and children), which would have made it closer to 15,000 people.
b. After all were satified, 12 baskets filled with fragments of the bread and fish were picked up, one for each doubting disciple.

2. PICTURE THIS! Since bread is a known substance and used by every society on earth, it is comsumed by people everywhere. Bread is one of the few foods that can be tolerated by most digestive system. Bread is a food that most people need and enjoy. My dad was a bread baker and we had "HOT BREAD" on the table every morning. When we consider all of this, it becomes clear why John portrays Jesus as "THE BREAD OF LIFE". Jesus, The Bread of Life, is something we all need daily ( Matt 6:11). Are you receiving your daily bread from heaven? Do you fill your stomach but neglect your soul? Are you a doubting disciple? To be continued Monday.

May our daily bread make us feel beautiful and satisfied in Christ Jesus.
In His Care, Vic.

    When my second DD was 3 we were talking about Jesus feeding the 5000. I asked her how Jesus did that, her answer was one of pure childlike faith. "Jesus is magic he can do what ever he wants

A Friday Spiritual Hymn and Message!

Friday, September 16, 2011

Gooooooooooooooood Morning Everyone! Today, we will begin looking at the portraits of Jesus in Room 6 (John 6). John 6 holds special meaning to me for I created both the words and the music in 1985 to the hymn below. There are four verses with no refrain. The inspiration for this hymn came from John 6:35, "I am the Bread of Life".

1. Near the Sea of Galilee, a great crowd of people came,
To see the Son of God, and His glorious fame;
With thirsting hungering souls, in search of truth and life,
The people gathered round, Jesus the Bread of Life;
The people gathered round, Jesus the Bread of Life.

2. With just five barley loaves and only two small fish,
And a great love for them, He served a wondrous dish;
Five thousand ate that day, till all had their fill,
Fed by the Bread of God, and His amazing will.
Fed by the Bread of God, and His amazing will.

3. A bread more precious than silver and gold,
Is the gracious gift of God to all hungering souls;
For the True Bread of God, to all was heaven sent,
To give life to all men, who would eat and repent.
To give life to all men, who would eat and repent.

4. Across the Sea of Galilee, they followed Him to learn,
About the Bread of Life, to have their fill they yearned;
"I am the Bread of Life, come down to you on earth,
Believe in me and see, what eternal life is worth;
Believe in me and see, what eternal life is worth".

1. In this first portrait, John shows Jesus providing to a hungry multitude, not only food for the body, but also foods for the soul ( John 6:1-3).

2. PICTURE THIS! Place yourself in this scene as we go from portrait to portrait and learn what it means to feed on the word of JESUS, THE BREAD OF LIFE. To be continued Saturday.

May joy and excitement fill our hearts and minds as we walk and follow the Master. In His Presence, Vic.

A Thursday Spiritual Hymn and Message!

Thursday, September 15, 2011

"BUENO DIA" Everyone! Peace on earth cannot be found until we meet on common ground, where every man becomes a brother, who worships God and who loves each other. PRAISE GOD!

HYMN: "MAKE ME NEW": The words and music to this wonderfdul hymn were created by Dan Burr in 1985. The scripture that inspired this hymn was Rom 7:6, "We should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter". Just one verse.

Make me new Lord Jesus, Make me new,
For it seems that in so many ways I'm not enough like You.
Take this weary vessel I am in and mold me once again,
Take my life, take my spirit, make me new.

1. John has shown us there was "AN OFFERING", also "AN ORDER", and now he shows us "AN OUTPOURING" (John 5:9).
a. The sick man responded to Jesus' command by faith and was immediately healed.
b. Proof of that is in the fact that he got up and walked.

2. Notice that this healing took place on a Sabbath.
a. In John 1:1 we learned that Jesus was the CONTROVERSAL WORD.
b. Jesus lived under the Old Testament Law where work on the Sabbath was forbidden.
c. Did He break the Law by healing this man on the Sabbath?
d. Which is higher and greater?
1. The Letter of the Law? Or,
2. The Spirit of the Law?

3. PICTURE THIS! Jesus has the power and authority to take any life that is broken and ruined by sin, and make it new again. It's a matter of doing good.
James 4:17 says, "to him who knows to do good and does it not, it is sin". Jesus was without sin. The works He did were good works. The healing of this man was a good work to teach you and me about faith and the power of His Word.
Your salvation and mine is good works. How good are your works? Do you need to be made new again? To be continued Friday!

May our life be a reflection of God's goodness and kindness.
In His Grace, Vic.

A Wednesday Prayer and Message!

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Greetings To Everyone! Someone had to teach us how to live, and that someone was Jesus Christ. Praise Him!

PRAYER: "Loving Father, God of Love! Teach us how to truly live. You do not ask us our race or creed, but You are always there in our hour of need. Let us know You love us, and that we are a part of You. Because You are the Creator, everything belongs to You, and that includes us. It doesn't matter if we are rich or poor, great or small; we are all one in Christ Jesus. Life is in Jesus our Lord, and He is our light and the Light of this World. Help us to live in Him and for Him; help us to shine for Him. You do not ask for perfection from us, only to believe and trust You and live a life that will bring praise, glory and honor to You. It is in Jesus' name that we pray and ask these things, Amen!"

1. Not only was there an OFFER, there was also an ORDER (John 5:8).
a. Jesus tells the man to get up and walk.
b. This man had not walked in 38 years.
c. Was this an impossible command? It might have been except for faith.
d. What was required of the man in order for him to get up and walk? Just two things:
1. Simple faith, a child-like faith.
2. Simple obedience, a child-like obedience.
e. Whether it is being healed or being saved, the same requiremnt applys to us.

2. PICTURE THIS! When Jesus calls us, the only response on our part is suppose to be FAITH and OBEDIENCE. But if we doubt, there will be no faith; where there is no faith, there will be no obedience; where there is no obedience, there will be no healing or salvation. If we refuse because it sounds too simple or too hard, then there is no opportunity for us, and we have no one to blame but ourselves. Jesus said in Mark 10:15, "Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein". Have you heard the call? Where is your faith? To be continued Thursday.

May God help us to realize that attitude, intelligence and detrmination will get us down life's road, but only true faith and obedience will get us into heaven.
Walking In His Light, Vic.
