A Thursday Spiritual Hymn and Message!

Thursday, September 15, 2011

"BUENO DIA" Everyone! Peace on earth cannot be found until we meet on common ground, where every man becomes a brother, who worships God and who loves each other. PRAISE GOD!

HYMN: "MAKE ME NEW": The words and music to this wonderfdul hymn were created by Dan Burr in 1985. The scripture that inspired this hymn was Rom 7:6, "We should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter". Just one verse.

Make me new Lord Jesus, Make me new,
For it seems that in so many ways I'm not enough like You.
Take this weary vessel I am in and mold me once again,
Take my life, take my spirit, make me new.

1. John has shown us there was "AN OFFERING", also "AN ORDER", and now he shows us "AN OUTPOURING" (John 5:9).
a. The sick man responded to Jesus' command by faith and was immediately healed.
b. Proof of that is in the fact that he got up and walked.

2. Notice that this healing took place on a Sabbath.
a. In John 1:1 we learned that Jesus was the CONTROVERSAL WORD.
b. Jesus lived under the Old Testament Law where work on the Sabbath was forbidden.
c. Did He break the Law by healing this man on the Sabbath?
d. Which is higher and greater?
1. The Letter of the Law? Or,
2. The Spirit of the Law?

3. PICTURE THIS! Jesus has the power and authority to take any life that is broken and ruined by sin, and make it new again. It's a matter of doing good.
James 4:17 says, "to him who knows to do good and does it not, it is sin". Jesus was without sin. The works He did were good works. The healing of this man was a good work to teach you and me about faith and the power of His Word.
Your salvation and mine is good works. How good are your works? Do you need to be made new again? To be continued Friday!

May our life be a reflection of God's goodness and kindness.
In His Grace, Vic.

A Wednesday Prayer and Message!

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Greetings To Everyone! Someone had to teach us how to live, and that someone was Jesus Christ. Praise Him!

PRAYER: "Loving Father, God of Love! Teach us how to truly live. You do not ask us our race or creed, but You are always there in our hour of need. Let us know You love us, and that we are a part of You. Because You are the Creator, everything belongs to You, and that includes us. It doesn't matter if we are rich or poor, great or small; we are all one in Christ Jesus. Life is in Jesus our Lord, and He is our light and the Light of this World. Help us to live in Him and for Him; help us to shine for Him. You do not ask for perfection from us, only to believe and trust You and live a life that will bring praise, glory and honor to You. It is in Jesus' name that we pray and ask these things, Amen!"

1. Not only was there an OFFER, there was also an ORDER (John 5:8).
a. Jesus tells the man to get up and walk.
b. This man had not walked in 38 years.
c. Was this an impossible command? It might have been except for faith.
d. What was required of the man in order for him to get up and walk? Just two things:
1. Simple faith, a child-like faith.
2. Simple obedience, a child-like obedience.
e. Whether it is being healed or being saved, the same requiremnt applys to us.

2. PICTURE THIS! When Jesus calls us, the only response on our part is suppose to be FAITH and OBEDIENCE. But if we doubt, there will be no faith; where there is no faith, there will be no obedience; where there is no obedience, there will be no healing or salvation. If we refuse because it sounds too simple or too hard, then there is no opportunity for us, and we have no one to blame but ourselves. Jesus said in Mark 10:15, "Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein". Have you heard the call? Where is your faith? To be continued Thursday.

May God help us to realize that attitude, intelligence and detrmination will get us down life's road, but only true faith and obedience will get us into heaven.
Walking In His Light, Vic.

A Tuesday Spirtual Hymn and Message!

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

ALOHA Everyone! Yesterday is gone, tomorrow has not yet arrived, and we have only today to live.....so let's get started. Give God all the glory!

HYMN: "IT IS NO SECRET": The words and music were crteated by Stuart Hamblen in 1950. And the scripture that inspired this song was Acts 26:2, " None of this has escaped His notice".

1. The chimes of time ring out the news, another day is through.
Someone slipped and fell, Was that someone you?
You may have longed for added strength, your courage to renew;
Do not be dishearted, for I bring hope to you. REFRAIN.

2. There is no night, for in His light, You'll never walk alone.
Always feel at home wherever you may roam;
There's no power can conquer you, While God is on your side;
Just take Him at His promise, Don't runaway and hide. REFRAIN.

REFRAIN: It is no secret what God can do,
What He's done for others, He'll do for you,
With arms wide open, He'll welcome you,
It is no secret what God can do.

1. In John 5, John has shown us a "SICK MAN", a "SYMPATHIZING SAVIOR", and now a "STRIKING MIRACLE" (John 5:6-9).
a. Jesus asked the man one question: "Would you like to be healed"?
b. Was this a physical or spirtual offer? This was a physical offer from a spiritual source.
c. Obviously, the man understood it to be physical because he has had his eye on healing for a long time, but it always seem to elude him.

2. PICTURE THIS! Jesus comes to all sinners and makes us an offer of salvation. Which is better: HEALING or SALVATION? The problem is that sinners are looking for a physical solution from a physical source when they should be looking for a physical solution from a spiritual source. There are things that man cannot do for himself because he lacks spirtual power. It takes the power of God, the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and the blood of Jesus to accomplish salvation for a sinner. Would you like to be healed or saved? Is salvation eluding you? For healing and salvation, come to the spiritual source, JESUS CHRIST. To be continued Wednesday.

May God teach us to show endless expressions of love and gratitude for what He has done and is doing for us. In His Healing and Word, Vic.

A Monday Prayer and Message!

Monday, September 12, 2011

Goooooooooooood Morning Everyone! People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those who are doing it. Praise God!

PRAYER: Holy Father, Divine God! You have given each one of us a life to live. When You look upon us You see those that have needs. Everyone of us has needs, both physical needs and spiritual needs. You have compassion for us and bless us each with time, talent and resources according to our needs. Everything we have belongs to You and we are to use these gifts to Your glory. Help us to invest these blessings and gifts for Your name sake. Keep us from fear, greed and selfish ambitions, and grant us a spirit of love and grace. This we pray and ask in the blessed name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

1. John is showing us in John 5:6, three great works of grace that Jesus is doing:
a. The first one was: Jesus Choosing The Man.
b. The second one was: Jesus Caring For The Man.
c. The third one is: Jesus Coming To The Man.
1. Jesus comes to where the disabled man is lying.
2. Jesus reaches out to the man in genuine grace and love.
3. It isn't until Jesus actually comes to the man that the man has opportunity for healing and salvation.

2. PICTURE THIS! There are three ways in which Jesus comes to the sinner.
a. He comes as a SACRIFICE! He came the first time to die for us (2 Cor 5:21).
b. He comes as the SAVIOR! He comes as the One offering eternal life (John 6:37).
c. He comes as SOVEREIGN! The sinner who doesn't respond to the Gospel of Jesus, will find himself facing Jesus as his/her JUDGE (Rev 20:11-15).
How much do you appreciate His SACRIFICE? Have you accepted Him as Your SAVIOR? In one way or another, He is SOVEREIGN over your life. Jesus will either be your SAVIOR or your JUDGE. To be continued Tuesday.

May God help us to be wise and invest our time and blessings to His glory.
In His Grace and Healing, Vic.

We sang this yesterday in church
Depth of mercy! can there be Mercy still reserved for me? can my God his wrath forbear Me the chief of sinners spare?

I my Master have denied I a fresh have crucified. Oft profaned his hallowed name, put him to open shame.

Now incline me to repent; let me now my sins lament; now my foul revolt deplore, weep, believe, and sin no more.

There for me the Savior stands, holding forth his wounded hands; God is love I know I feel Jesus weeps and loves me still.

I thought this was a fairly new hymn until I looked and saw thatit was written in the 18th century

A Saturday Spritual Hymn and Message!

Saturday, September 10, 2011

Greetings of Peace To Everyone! The trouble with a lot of people is that their God is too small. Our God is larger than life if we could measure him. Praise God.

HYMN: "DOES JESUS CARE?" The words to this hymn was created by Frank E, Graeff in 1901, and the music by J. Lincoln Hall, also in 1901. The scripture that inspired this hymn is Matt 11:28-30, "Come to me and I will give you rest".

1. Does Jesus care when my heart is pained, Too deeply for myrth and song;
As the burdens press, and the cares distress, and the way grows weary and long? REFRAIN.

2. Does Jesus care when my way is dark, With a nameless dread and fear?
As the day light fade into deep night shades, Does He care enough to be near? REFRAIN.

3. Does Jesus care when I've said "good-by", to the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks, Is it aught to Him? Does He see?

REFRAIN: O yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary and the long night dreary, I know my Savior cares.

1. John shows us in John 5:6, Jesus doing three great works of grace:
a. The first one was: Jesus is shown choosing the man.
b. The second one is: Jesus is shown caring for the man.
1. Jesus knew all there is to know about this man.
2. He knew the man had been crippled for a long time, unable to walk, unable to stand, unable to carry his bed.
3. He knew the man was totally dependent upon others for everything.
4. Jesus reaches out to the man because He cared.....THAT'S GRACE.

2. PICTURE THIS! Jesus refuses to look at us as we are, and chooses rather to see us as we can become through the power of His grace. Jesus looks beyond our faults and failures, and cares for us in spite of our sins. He loves us even though He knows our evil thoughts and deeds. He loves us even though we will fail Him again and again. Jesus said in Mark 2:17, "They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance". Do you care? Have you heard the call? Have you repented and turned to Jesus? He loves you and doesn't want you to perish. To be continued Monday.

May God help our vision to become clear when we look into our own heart: for he who looks outside of himself, dreams; and he who looks inside of himself, will be awaken. In His Grace and Healing, Vic.
