A Saturday Spiritual Hymn!

Saturday, August 20, 2011

Goooooood Morning Everyone! Today's hymn is not too old. It has two verses and a refrain, and it's a beautiful hymn about the Savior's sacrifice. The words and music were created by Dottie Rambo in 1969. The inspiration for this hymn came from 1 John 4:10-12, "....not that we loved God, but that He loves us".

TITLE: If That Isn't Love

1. He left the splendor of heaven, Knowing His destiny,
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha, There to lay down His life for me.

2. Even in death He remembered, The thieft hanging by His side,
He spoke with love and compassion, Then He took him to paradise.

If that isn't love, the ocean is dry,
There's no stars in the sky, and the sparrow can't fly;
If that's isn't love, then heaven's a myth,
There's no feeling like this, If that isn't love.

Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND! God Bless Everyone, Vic.

A Friday Prayer and Message!

Friday, August 19, 2011

Greetings of Grace To Everyone! YEP! It's Friday again. Give God the glory!

PRAYER: "Holy Father, Loving God! Help our perspective in life. Help us to see things with the right view, with a positive attitude, because nothing is too difficult nor impossible for You our God. We know that anywhere with Jesus, we can safely go; anywhere in this world below or in the world to come. Enable us to focus our God-given opportunities and not to worry about our human failures. Human failures are inevitable and are a learning and growing experience in life. Teach us to trust You always. This we pray in the beloved name of Jesus, Amen!"

1. Not only did Jesus and the woman TALKED of WELLS, they TALKED OF WICKEDNESS (John 4:16-19).
a. Jesus, in an effort to awaken her spiritual need, touches plainly on what must had been the sorest spot in the woman's life (Vs 16).
b. He pointed out her sinfulness (Vs 17-18).
1. Her sinful life had made her a social outcast.
2. Her sinful life had also made her a spiritual outcast.
c. Coming to Jesus for salvation will never occur until we are first awakened to our own spiritual need for salvation.
d. Was Jesus able to get the woman's attention? (Read Vs 19).

2. PICTURE THIS! Until sinners know they are lost, they will never desire to be found. Conviction is vital to salvation (John 6:44 and 65). Jesus is not afraid of revealing our sins as we are of having them revealed. Jesus will do whatever He has to do in order to bring us to repentance. The woman recognized that Jesus was special. Can you? Do you desire to be found? Are you aware that you are sinful and lost without Jesus? To be continued Monday.

May God look kindly on us who love Him, and may He bestow on us special blessings as we join out hearts in Jesus.
In His Teachings, Vic.

Jesus loves me so much that he went to hell to get me rather then go to heaven without me.

A Thursday Prayer and Message!

Thursday, August 18, 2011

Greetings of Love To Everyone! Thank you for all your responses and comments. Give God the glory!

PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, Almighty God! Life is like a declining village where the "grinders cease" and the "windows grow dim". Some of us will die young with many unfulfilled plans and dreams. Some of us will live beyond our ability to act because of a stroke or a disease. Help us then to remember our Creator and Savior SOONER rather than LATER. Difficult days will come when we will not be able to act on what we know to be truth. You have given us TODAY to live and fulfill our plans and dreams. Help us to make the right decisions and to make the most of each day. Enable us to surrender to Jesus Christ as our Lord and King. This prayer we pray in His name, Amen!"

1. In the next portrait of Jesus, John paints for us the conversation of Jesus with the sinful woman (John 4:9-12).
a. Jesus is seen patiently leading this woman to salvation as they talk about several things.
b. They TALK of WELLS!
1. Apparently, Jesus had no means with which to draw water (Vs 11).
2. She responds with amazement that a Jew would ask for a drink from a woman, much less a Samaritan.
3. Jesus offers her a drink of "LIVING WATER".
4. Like many of us, she confuses the physical with that which is spitiual.
5. Salvation is explained in human terms by faith and obedience to God's Word, but it is a spiritual tranaction where the sinner comes into contact with the blood of Jesus, and two things happen (Rom 6:3-4):
a. Sins are washed away.
b. A new being is created.
6. At this point, the woman is not ready for salvation, and is a bit sarcastic.

2. PICTURE THIS! Jesus is not afraid of social stigmas, nor did He care for common religious practices, especially "INCLUSION or EXCLUSION". Jesus was willing to reach out to her in an effort to win her despite the personal cost to Himself. What a lesson for Christians! How long-reaching is your compassion and humanity? To be continued Friday.

May new friends await us wherever we roam, so we may share the blessings and Word of salvation in Jesus.

In His Teachings, Vic.

Amen! Brings to mind the song "Fill My Cup, Lord"

"Like the woman at the well, I was sinking
For thing that would not satisfy;
And then I heard my Savior speaking
Draw from my well that never shall run dry.

Fill my cup, Lord
I lift it up Lord
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven
Feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup
Fill it up and make me whole.

There are millions in this world who are craving
The pleasures earthly things afford;
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord"

A Wednesday Prayer and Message!

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

ALOHA Everyone! We want to thank all oof you who prayed for Ron and his wife; please continue to pray for them. Praise God!

PRAYER: "Loving Father, Caring God! Help us to apply our hearts to what You teach us. Help us to keep in our hearts the teachings from Your Word, and to be ready to trust them and use them to Your glory. Help us not to just keep the teachings in our mind, but to get in the habit of speaking them and using them. Thank You for so many wonderfull promises of blessings in Christ Jesus, our Savior. Deliver us from doubt and unbelief, and enable us to guard Your Word in our heart, and share that Word with others. Change us O God, from the inside out. This we pray in the blessed name of Jesus, Amen!"

1. As we continue to look at this portrait, notice the absence of all distractions.
a. It is just Jesus and the woman (John 4:7).
b. Her five ex-husbands were not there.
c. The man she is living with is not there.
d. The towns ppeople were not there.
e. Even the disciples were not there (John 4:8).
f. It was just Jesus and the woman.

2. PICTURE THIS! Ultimately, our meeting will always be between each of us and Jesus (one-on-one). And the question will be: "What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he"? (Matt 22:42-46). If we do not take the opportunity to allow Jesus to save us when it is offered, nothing else we do matters. Will you accept His invitation to be saved, or will you plead for Him to depart....."Come back some other time". There will come a day when He will stop calling you to be saved. To be continued Thursday.

May God bless us, and may we be a blessing to Him and other by adding more love to this world.
In His love and Grace, Vic.

A Tuesday Prayer and Message!

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Greetings of Love To Everyone! There is no limit to what we can do when we have Jesus in our corner. Give God all praise and glory.

PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, Gracious God! You are powerful and You exist! Your power is evident in Your creation and in Your Word. Your existence is evident in Your creation and in Your Word. Let us praise You for Your acts of power and Your surpassing greatness. Your Word is quick and powerful, sharper than any twoedged sword, able to pierce and divide asunder the soul and spirit, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of our hearts. Creation reveals You as a POWERFUL GOD. You exist because we have the written Word of eyewitness that recorded Your might works of love that You have done. Your love and Your wrath are revealed in your power and existence and we are without excuse. Let us choose this day whom we will serve. We choose to serve the God of heaven and earth. This we pray rejoicing in the name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

1. Starting with John 4:7, John introduces us to the SINFUL WOMAN.
a. Every sinful person is in need of salvation, and salvation is found only in Christ Jesus.
1. Vs 6 says it was about the sixth hour (That's about 12 noon).
2. Jacob's well was about 1/2 mile from the village.
3. The woman was alone and came to the well during the hottest time of the day, which indicates she was a social outcast.
4. In the eyes of Jesus, the woman was no different than any other sinner (Rom 3:23).

2. PICTURE THIS! THe problem we sinner face is that we are estranged (made hostile) from God (Ps 58:3). Our sins is what stand between us and our relationship with God (Ps 59:2). It's bad to be a social outcast, and even worst to be a spiritual outcast. And until we come to Jesus for salvation, we are a spiritual outcast. Jesus is our "DAYSMAN" (Job 9:33), who takes us, the sinner, on one hand, and God the Father, on the other hand, and brings us together in Himself. Are you a spiritual outcast? Jesus can fix both. To be continued Wednesday.

May we come to know and experience the power and blessings of our Almighty God, now and forever more. In His Compassion and Humanity, Vic.
