A Tuesday Prayer and Message!

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Greetings of Love To Everyone! There is no limit to what we can do when we have Jesus in our corner. Give God all praise and glory.

PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, Gracious God! You are powerful and You exist! Your power is evident in Your creation and in Your Word. Your existence is evident in Your creation and in Your Word. Let us praise You for Your acts of power and Your surpassing greatness. Your Word is quick and powerful, sharper than any twoedged sword, able to pierce and divide asunder the soul and spirit, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of our hearts. Creation reveals You as a POWERFUL GOD. You exist because we have the written Word of eyewitness that recorded Your might works of love that You have done. Your love and Your wrath are revealed in your power and existence and we are without excuse. Let us choose this day whom we will serve. We choose to serve the God of heaven and earth. This we pray rejoicing in the name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

MESSAGE: JESUS, THE GREAT SOUL WINNER!
1. Starting with John 4:7, John introduces us to the SINFUL WOMAN.
a. Every sinful person is in need of salvation, and salvation is found only in Christ Jesus.
1. Vs 6 says it was about the sixth hour (That's about 12 noon).
2. Jacob's well was about 1/2 mile from the village.
3. The woman was alone and came to the well during the hottest time of the day, which indicates she was a social outcast.
4. In the eyes of Jesus, the woman was no different than any other sinner (Rom 3:23).

2. PICTURE THIS! THe problem we sinner face is that we are estranged (made hostile) from God (Ps 58:3). Our sins is what stand between us and our relationship with God (Ps 59:2). It's bad to be a social outcast, and even worst to be a spiritual outcast. And until we come to Jesus for salvation, we are a spiritual outcast. Jesus is our "DAYSMAN" (Job 9:33), who takes us, the sinner, on one hand, and God the Father, on the other hand, and brings us together in Himself. Are you a spiritual outcast? Jesus can fix both. To be continued Wednesday.

May we come to know and experience the power and blessings of our Almighty God, now and forever more. In His Compassion and Humanity, Vic.

A Monday Prayer and Message!

Monday, August 15, 2011

Gooooooood Morning Everyone! Attitude, intelligence, determination, and God's help will get us through any situation. Give God all the glory!

PRAYER: "Most Holy Father, Awesome God! The heavens and the earth declare Your splendor and glory as they praise You in the heights. The sun and moon praise You. The waters above the heavens praise You. The angels praise You. The mountains, hills, the fruitful trees, the beast, the fowl of the air, are all the poetic splendor of Your mighty works. Let kings and people, princes and judges, young men and maidens, and children bow down and praise You, for Your name is excellent and Your glory is above all else. To these we add the jubilant praises of our hearts and our voices. Praise the Lord all ye people. Praise His Holy name. This we pray in Jesus' glorious name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: JESUS, THE GREAT SOUL WINNER!
1. In this portrait of Jesus, we see the CONFRONTATION WITH A SINFUL WOMAN ( John 4:1-8).
a. We see Jesus' compassion and humanity in four ways in vs 3 thru 6.
1. Jesus is seen WALKING! This is not the way a king would travel, but Jesus chose to live like the common man. He knew what we face in life (Heb 4:15), and thus had such compassion for us .
2. Jesus is seen WILLING! Verse 4 declares that Jesus "must needs go through Samaria". Most Jews woukd have gone miles out of their way to avoid going through Samaria. Prejudices and hatred filled their hearts, but not Jesus. A sinful woman was going to be called to salvation and He was determined to offer her the opportunity to be saved.
3. Jesus is seen WEARY! As God, He never tired, but as man, He was prone to the same physical weaknesses we face. Weary as He was,His mission "to seek and save the lost" (Luke 19:10), fueled his compassion and humanity.
4. Jesus is seen WAITING! He was waiting for this sinful woman to come to Him for salvation. He had a wonderful gift to give to her as He does for us. He waited patiently to recue the one lost sheep.

2. PICTURE THIS! Jesus always positions Himself directly in our path, even though we cruise through life without much thought of God's plan and gift. He establishes these crossroads to bring us to salvation. There is no person beyond the reach of God's grace. If Jesus could reach out to the most hated people of His day, what do you think He would do for you today? Set your prejudices and hatred aside and come to Jesus....He is waiting for you. To be continued Tuesday.

May the salve of His grace reach each heart with the blessings of heaven.
In His Compassion and Humanity, Vic.

A Sunday Morning Spiritual Hymn!

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Goooooood Morning Everyone! Today's hymn is a prayerful praise of the Savior's sacrifice. It's an oldie with 3 verses and a refrain. The words were created by Fanny J. Crosby in 1869, and the music by William H. Doane, also in 1869. The inspiration for this hymn came from John 19:25-26, " Near the cross of Jesus stood His mother".

THE TITLE: Jesus, Keep Me Near The Cross

1. Jesus, keep me near the cross, There a precious fountain,
Free to all a healing stream, flows from Calvary's mountain.
REFRAIN

2. Near the cross a trembling soul, love and mercy found me;
There the Bright and Morning Satr, Shines its beams around me.
REFRAIN

3. Near the cross, O Lamb of God, Bring its scene before me;
Help me walk from day to day, with its shadow o'er me.
REFRAIN

REFRAIN:
In the cross, in the cross, Be my glory ever,
Till my raptured soul shall find, Rest beyond the river.

Worship the Lord today in Spirit and in truth.
God Bless Everyone, Vic.

A Saturday Spiritual Hymn!

Saturday, August 13, 2011

ALOHA Everyone! Since we will be looking at John 4 this coming week, today's hymn was in spired by John 4:35, "Lift up your eyes and look at the field, for they are white already for harvest". This hymn is an oldie. The words were created by Elizabeth Mills in 1836 ( 101 years before I was born), and the music by William Miller in 1859. The hymn has 3 verses with a refrain.

THE TITLE: Well Work Till Jesus Comes

1. O land of rest, for thee I sigh! When will the moment come,
When shall I lay my armor by, and dwell in peace at home?
REFRAIN

2. To Jesus Christ I fled for rest; He bade me cease to roam,
And lean for succor on His breast, Till He conduct me home.
REFRAIN

3. I sought at once my Savior's side; No more my steps shall raom,
With Him I'll brave death's chil-ing tide, And reach my heav'n-ly home.

REFRAIN:
We'll work (we'll work) till Jesus comes.
We'll work (we'll work) till Jesus comes,
We'll work (we'll work) till Jesus comes,
And we'll be gathered home.

God Bless Everyone and have a GREAT WEEKEND! In His Love, Vic.

I belong to a fundamental/traditional (bad word these days, I know) church, this sounds like a hymn we've sung before. An oldie, but a goodie! You must be holding up well if you were born in 1837, still sharp enough to operate a computer;)
