A Thursday Prayer and Message!

Thursday, August 11, 2011

Aloha Everyone! If the Son shines in your heart today, don't forget to give God all the praise.

PRAYER: "Most Holy Father, Almighty God! How powerful is Your love for us? You reached down into the pit of darkness and dispair, grabbed us and snatched us from the clutches of death and destruction. The undeniable fact is that one out of one is going to die once, but does not need to die twice.Thank You for loving us with a love that grabs us, even in death; for taking the "FINALITY" out of that moment and insuring our resurrection through the empty tomb of Jesus our Lord. We praise You, O God, and we Thank YOU! This we pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen!"

1. According John 3:36, the saints of God lives in a continual state of "eternal life"., while the sinner lives constantly under the wrath of God.
a. If we are saved, we have been granted "everlasting life".
b. Our soul will never die.
c. If we are lost, the wrath of God hangs over us like a giant wrecking ball.
d. Our soul will die: our soul will be separated from the spirit and sent into hell for all etenity.
e. The only thing that keeps us out of hell is the grace of God.

2. PICTURE THIS! It's plain that God loves sinners, hates sin, and has provided salvation for whosoever believes and obeys the gospel of Jesus Christ. God loves us and has done all that needs to be done to save us. Now it's up to each of us!
Where would we be without God's love, grace and mercy? What does your heart want...Heaven or Hell? Where will you spend eternity? To be continued Friday.

May we blessed by the Divine Teacher about the choices we have been granted.

A Wednesday Prayer and Message!

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Gooooooooooood Morning Everyone! Thoughtfulness reaches out to people we care about, so let's practice it. Give God all the glory.

PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, Loving God! May the soul-deep expressions of our hearts, even in trouble and grief, find comfort in Your nearness. We long for Your closeness each time we follow those plaintive times of dispair. Teach us to sing songs of hope to our Loving God. It is hope in our God that brings us back from misery and self pity. We thank You for understanding our moments of dispair and for reminding us of our blessed hope in Jesus our Lord. Help us to treassure, nuture, and strengthen our hope in Jesus. It is in His name we pray, Amen!"

1. In John 3:18-21, John having shown us THE CONVERSATION and THE COMMENTARY, now shows us THE CONDEMNATION:
a. Jesus shows us those who refuse to come to Him for salvation, where they are and what they can expect.
b. Vs 18 - The Present Stage!
1. Sinners are already condemned in the mind of God.
2. Those that refuse to come to Jesus for salvation will spend eternity in Hell (Ps 9:17) by their own choice.
3. There is no other recourse for them but to turn to Christ for their soul's salvation.
c. Vs 19-21 - The Persistent State!
1. Sinners have no one to blame but themselves (Rom 1:20).
2. God has already done all to provide for our salvation.
3. Jesus died for us; paid our sin debt; rose again to give us life.
4. Jesus prays for us and has sent His Spirit to bring us light and show us the way.

2. PICTURE THIS! If we are lost, either we haven't heard the gospel, or we have heard the gospel and turned away from Jesus. In either case, Rom 1:20 tells us, "men are without excuse". The day is coming when there will be no more time nor no more opportunities to be saved. The time for salvation is NOW! Where are you in your relationship with God and in His salvation? To be continued Thursday.

May our "THANKS", however small it seems when compared to all that Jesus has done for us, always come from the depth of our hearts.

In His Teachings, Vic.

A Tuesday Prayer and Message!

Tuesday, August 09, 2011

Greetings to Everyone In The Name Of Jesus! We will always be grateful for all of you who respond daily with your comments and statements. Give God all the glory!

PRAYER: "Holy Father, Redeeming God! The only path to repair is when we are broken. We are blessed because our transgressions are forgiven, and our sins are covered by the blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We confess before You that we were wrong, that we are guilty of transgressing Yout Law in this age where denial and coverup are prevalent, both by not keeping the "Letter of the Law" nor the "Spirit of the Law". We acknowledge our sins before You and throw ourselves upon Your mercy. Pardon us O Lord by Your geat love, grace and mercy, and grants us Your Divine Protection. Enable us to have the courage to trust Your forgiveness, and teach us to forgive others as we have been forgiven. This we pray and ask in Jesus' Holy name, Amen!"

1. In John 3:16, John's next detail in this portrait of Jesus is, "A SURE AND SOLEMN PROMISE".
a. "Whosoever" - When God made His plan of salvation, he determined to not exculde anyone who would believe in Jesus Christ and obey Him.
1. He flung wide the door of grace.
2. He beckoned all to come unto Him, not wishing that any should perish (2 Pet 3:9).
3. He wants all to be saved, knowing that many would reject Him and be cast into hell for all eternity.
4. Salvation is a "WHOSOEVER" deal.
5. The choice is yours and mine.
b. "Shall not perish, but have everlasting life" - When God makes a promise, He means it and He keeps it.
1. Those who believe in Jesus have a promise that they will not die, but instead will be saved and have eternal life.
2. Those who do not believe in Jesus also have a promise, that they will die (be separated from God), through all eternity and spend eternity in Hell.

2. PICTURE THIS! Apart from Jesus, we can expect nothing less than eternal separation from God's presence ( 1 Thes 1:8-9). The saints have a deep assurance that God will save them, preserve them, and take them home to heaven. What kind of hope do you have today? Where will you spend etenity? To be continued Wednesday.

May we be blessed and know the experience of the love and joy that awaits us in heaven forever. In His Teachings, Vic.

A Monday Prayer and Message!

Monday, August 08, 2011

God Bless Everyone! A new week; a new day; a new start; a new life! Give God all the praise and glory!

PRAYER: " Merciful and Loving Father, Gracious God! How can we ever thank You for our salvation? You have shown us two ways unto salvation. One is the Old Way: it is impossible for us to keep, because there is no way we can keep the "Letter of the Law" and also the "Spirit of the Law" by our own efforts. Only You, O God, can do this. So You gave us the New Way, through the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. You made salvation possible and simple for us to follow Your scheme of redemption. We are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because it is Your power unto our salvation. Help us therefore, to show respect and our gratitude by faith in You and in Your Word, and by obedience to the New Law of Liberty in Jesus. It is in His name that we pray, Amen!"

1. In John 3:16, John has shown us thusfar a portrait of, "A Shadow From The Past", and "A Sacrifice For Sin", as he now turns our attention to "A SIMPLE PLAN OF SALVATION".
a. Some religions "over-simplify" salvation by omitting biblical rules to follow and steps to complete in order to be saved.
b. Other religions make it "Difficult" by adding man-made rules to follow and steps to complete in oder to be saved.
c. Rev 22:18-19; Deu 4:2; Deu 12:32; and Prov 30:6, all warn us not to add or take away from the word of God.
d. We are to do what God says and do it the way He says.
e. We cannot be saved through religion; only God makes it simple and possible through Jesus for us to be saved.
f. We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus and by obedience to Jesus.
g. God has already done all the work needed for salvation:
1. We need to believe Jesus is the Son of God.
2. And believing, we must do what the scriptures say we need to do.

2. PICTURE THIS! In thousands of years, nothing has changed the way we are to be saved. While we have the opportunity to become a child of God, Christ has always been the Son of God. Therefore, as children of God we must seek to be obedient by faith just like Jesus. You see, He is the only one who has kept the "Letter of the Law and the Spirit of the Law". The way for us to be saved, according to scripture, is to hear the word (Rom 10:17); to be believe in Jesus (Mark 16:16); to repent of our sins (Luke 13:13); to confess Jesus as the Son of God (Rom 10:9); and to be baptized into Jesus (Acts 2:38). Jesus is our righteousness and our Savior. Without Him we will be lost. How were you saved? To be continued Tuesday,

May we be blessed by the Love, Grace and Mercy God has given us in Christ Jesus.

A Sunday Spiritual Hymn!

Sunday, August 07, 2011

Hello Everyone! Today's hymn is an oldie. It's a four verse hymn with a refrain. The words were created by William R. Newell in 1895, and the music by D. B. Towner, also in 1895. The scripture that inspired them to write this hymn is Luke 15:18, the Parable of the Lost Son, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and you".

THE TITLE: Years I Spent In Vanity

1. Years I spent in vanity and pride, Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died at Calvary.

2. By God's Word at last my sin I learned; Then I trembled at the law I spurned,
Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary.

3. Now I've giv'n to Jesus everything; Now I gladly own Him as my King;
Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary.

4. Oh, the love that drew salvation plan! Oh, the grace that bro't it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span, at Calvary.

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty,
At Calvary.

In His mercy and grace, Vic.

    "Spirit of Life" is one of the most beloved songs written by Carolyn McDade in our Unitarian Universalist faith. It is sung to open our church service every week by our congregation. Here are the simple lyrics. The lyrics sum up our UU faith.

Spirit of Life, come unto me.
Sing in my heart all the stirrings of compassion.
Blow in the wind, rise in the sea;
Move in the hand, giving life the shape of justice.
Roots hold me close; wings set me free;
Spirit of Life, come to me, come to me.
