A Tuesday Prayer and Message!

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

Greetings to Everyone! Thank you for your comments and responses. We are into August and moving right along. Give God all the glory.

PRAYER: "Beloved Father, Faithful God. The course of histoty is changing, and it appears to be for the worst and not the better. Stories of evil repeat itself by those who manipulate the poor and destitude, who take advantage for their own gain. Help us to learn from past history what not to do; to speak up for the rights of those who love and serve You. Use us to honor You in all situations. You place us in these situations to open the eyes of our hearts. Give us the courage to speak up for all who cannot speak for themselves. Give us the strength to stand up against all evil and injustices; to stand up for Your truth and righteousness. This we pray and ask in the blessed name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

1. In John 3:6-7, John shows us THE IMPERATIVE OF THE NEW BIRTH!
a. Vs 6, makes it clear that there is a difference in what is produced by the action of the NEW BIRTH.
1. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh".
2. "That which is born of the Spirit is spirit".
b. When a sinner is redeemed, he becomes a "NEW CREATION" in the Lord (2 Cor 5:17).
c. The "NEW CREATURE" is created by God and fitted for heaven.
d. The "NATURAL MAN" (in the flesh) is suited only for this world, for Hell, not heaven.
e. The "NEW CREATURE" (The Redeemed) is made ready for the glory to come.

2. PICTURE THIS! Jesus makes all the difference in our life. The redeemed are changes forever by the power of Almight God. But many wear the name "CHRISTIAN" (Christ-like) only as an outer garment, and have not the name in their heart. Do you just wear the name "CHRISTIAN"? Maybe on Sundays only? OR, do you live the name "CHRISTIAN" everyday? To be continued Wednesday.

May the Lord hear our prayers and bless us with His love and grace.

In His Teachings, Vic.

A Monday Prayer and Message!

Monday, August 01, 2011

A Glorious Monday Morning To Everyone! Staying in touch with each of you is a rewarding and challenging task. We hope everyone had a great weekend. Praise God!

PRAYER: " Heavenly Father, Adoring God! There is beauty all around us. Our beauty should not come from outward adornment, but from our inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in Your eyes. The outer beauty should never outshine the beauty of Jesus living in us.
Help us not to judge on the basis of outward appearances, as the world judges, but to glorify You through the beauty of the spiritual life we live in Christ Jesus, so others may see You through us. Physical charm and beauty is fleeting from us, but that which is spiritual is eternal. Deepen our beauty by the power of Your Word and Your Spirit. Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in us. This we pray in Jesus' name, Amen!"

1. John continues to amaze us with this 3rd portrait of Jesus, as he shows us THE CLARIFICATION BY JESUS (John 3:5-13).
a. Jesus reveals the two instruments of the new birth.
1. "Born of water and the Spirit" (vs 5).
2. The new birth is contrast between physical birth (water) and the spiritual birth (Spirit).
3. The new birth is being regenerated by the Spirit, signifying a rebirth by Christian baptism.
4. The water may also represent the cleansing action of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5).
b. Jesus is explaning the importance of the spiritual rebirth, that people do not enter the kingdom of God by living a better life, but by a spiritual rebirth that leads to spiritual living.

2. PICTURE THIS! When a sinner is quicken by God's truth and the Spirit, the sinner has a decision to make: To be united with Christ by baptism (Gal 2:20; Rom 6:3-11) (a re-enactment of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, according to scripture); OR, not to ber united with Christ. Are you "united with Christ according to scripture"? To Be Continued Tuesday.

May the union with Christ be the foindation of His love, grace, mercy, and eternal gift of life.

In His Teachings, Vic.

A Satuurday Spiritual Hymn!

Saturday, July 30, 2011

Goooooooood Morning Everyone! Those deers swimmimg in the lake reminded me of the beautiful hymn. It is not an oldie. The words and the music was created by Martin Nystrom in 1984. And the inspiration for this hymn came from Psalm 42:1-2, "As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after You".

1. As the deer pants for water, so my soul longs after You.
You alone are my heart's desire, and I long to worship You.

2. I want You more than gold or silver, only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy giver, and the apple of my eye.

You alone are my stength, my shield;
To You alone will my spirit yield.
You alone are my heart's desire, and I long to worship You.

Have a wonderful weekend! God Bless Everyone, Vic.

A Friday Prayer and Message!

Friday, July 29, 2011

A Happy Friday Morning To Everyone! These Fridays come so fast as one gets older......Wooooooosh, and and here it's Friday again...LOL. Praise God for every Friday in our life.

PRAYER: Good Morning Father, Good Morning Jesus, Good Morning Holy Spirit! We are in deed glad that our prayers always rise up to You, like smoke from incense, that You hear our prayers and respond to them with blessings of love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, joy and peace. You hear even the quiet prayer of our hearts born out of faith. How blessed we are to have You as the center of our lives. Let us therefore rejoice and be glad and give You all praise. You are our God: our past, our present, and our future. We look forward to the day when we can worship You face-to-face. This we pray in the blessed name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

1. John now clarifies a common mistake that many of us are guilty of doing:
a. In John 3:4, Nicodemus confuses the things of God with the things of the flesh.
b. He though that Jesus was telling him to return to his mother's womb (to be born again).
2. Like Nicodemus, many do not understand God's plan for salvation.
a. To think of God's plan of salvation in human terms, makes no sense.
b. How can we be born again physically? It is impossible! But spiritually, well, that's something we have to learn to consider.
c. Yet, unless the Holy Spirit awakens the mind in us to the truth of God, there can be no understanding, and consequently, no salvation.
3. PICTURE THIS! Jesus stresses the need for the Father to draw men to the truth in John 6:44, and 65. God, not man, plays the most active role in the plan of salvation. Someone who chooses to believe in Jesus, does so only in response to the urging of God's Holy Spirit. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Rom 10:17). And we know from chapter 1 that Jesus is the Word of God. Did you think you had the most active role in God's plan of salvation? We need to learn to think in spiritual terms, not physical terms. To be continued Monday.

May we have everything we need together in Christ Jesus.

Great reminder. It can be hard to think spiritually because we are physical beings. Dear Holy Spirit, help us understand the spiritual way so that we may be able share it with all!

Thank you, Vic. Have a wonderful weekend!

A Thursday Prayer and Message!

Thursday, July 28, 2011

Aloha Everyone! Mahalo (thank you) for all your comments and responses. Give God all the glory!

PRAYER: " Glorious Father, Almight God! There are times we feel like we are the ONLY ONES who are trying to do Your will, but that is not true.....it only seems that way because we have such limited vision. Like Elijah, we want to go hide some place or just quit. Allow us to experience Your Holy presence just like him; a gentle whisper of encouragment from Your word; and to know that You are always with us no matter when or where we are. Forgive us when we feel alone. Help us to remember that You are always with those who do Your will. Strengthen our faith when we are weak, and are tempted to go hide or quit. Give us a heart that cares and the courage to keep-on-keeping-on; to serve the God we love, the God who loved us so much that He gave Himself for us. This we pray in the name of Jesus, our Lord, Amen!"

1. John turns our attention now in this portrait of Jesus, to THE CHALLENGE from Jesus.
a. Jesus ignors the compliments and the pious platitudes of Nicodemus, and addresses the need in Nicodemus's heart (John 3:3).
1. We need to understand that religion alone is not enough to save a soul.
2. To be saved, one must experience the NEW BIRTH.
b. What's the NATURE of the NEW BIRTH?
1. "Except a man be born again".
2. The word "again" means "from a higher place".
3. It refers to things which come from God only.
4. Man cannot accomplish it.
5. It is the work of God and none other.
c. What is the NECESSITY of the NEW BIRTH?
1. "Except......he cannot see the kingdom of God".
2. The word "except" means literally "a person has no other choice".
3. We either come to God and do it His way, or there will be no salvation for those that don't.
4. It's either Jesus or Nothing!
2. PICTURE THIS: Acts 4:12 tell us, "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name given under heaven among men, whereby we must be saved". FOLK! This is not something a church decided; it is something God decided. If God designated Jesus to be the only Savior (and He did), no one else can be His equal. Are these words speaking to the needs of your heart? To be continued!

May hope and faith bring you blessings and peace during your search for truth.
