A Sunday Spiritual Hymn!

Sunday, July 17, 2011

A Blessed Sunday Morning To Everyone! Our spiritual hymn for today is an oldie. It's a four verse hymn of our Savior's leadership. The words were created by Cecil F. Alexander in 1852; and the music was created later by William H. Jude in 1887. The inspiration for this wonderful hymn came from John 12:26, "If any man serve me, let him follow me".

TITLE: JESUS CALLS US

1. Jesus call us, o'er the tumult Of our life's wild restless sea,
Day by day His sweet voice soundeth, Saying, "Christian follow me".

2. Jesus calls us from the worship Of the vain world's golden store;
From each idol that would keep us, Saying, "Christian, love me more".

3. In our joy and in our sorrows, Days of toil, and hours of ease,
Still He calls us, in cares and pleasures, "Christian, love me more than these".

4. Jesus call us, by Thy mercies, Savior make us hear Thy call,
Give our hearts to Thine obedience, Serve and Love Thee best of all.

PS: We trust your weekend was GREAT!
In His Love and Grace, Vic.

A Saturday Spiritual Hymn!

Saturday, July 16, 2011

Goooooooood Morning Everyone! Today's hymn is not too old. It's a hymn of praise and adoration. William J. and Gloria Gaither wrote both the words and the music in 1970. It's a one verse hymn. The inspiration for this hymn came from Acts 4:12, "Salvation is found in no one else".

TITLE: There's Something About That Name

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; There's just something about that name.

Master, Savior, Jesus, Like the fragrance after the rain;

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Let all heaven and earth proclaim;

Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,

But there something about that name.

PS: Have a great weekend! In His Love, Vic.

Yes, there really is Something about His Name!
"For Scriptures say: 'As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess and give praise to God.'" Rom 14:11

Have a blessed day!

A Friday Prayer and Message!

Friday, July 15, 2011

A Special Friday B lessing To Everyone! Everyone of you is a success looking for a chance to happen. Praise God!

PRAYER: "Merciful and Loving Father, God of Peace! You have given each one of us ONE LIFE to live, and You have blessed us with time, talent and resources. Whether we are rich or poor, we must use what You have given us to your glory and honor. Either we use them to your service or we lose them. What we have will be given to another who will use them in Your service. Help us to dedicate everyday and all that is in it to serve the Lord our God, Jesus Christ. Everything we have belongs to Him, the Creator of everything. Enable us to invest it wisely for Jesus' name sake. Deliver us from all fears, greed, and selfish ambitions, and grant us a long life in Your service. This we pray and ask in Jesus' glorious name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: JESUS, SON OF MAN!
1. As we continue to peruse the 2nd portrait, we know that here is a Jewish wedding taking place, and a little about the CIRCUMSTANCES surrounding the wedding.
a. Now we notice "THE CALL" (John 2:2).
1. Jesus is at the wedding by invitation.
2. Someone possessed the forethought and thoughfulness to call and invite Him to this event.
b. We should learn to call and invite Jesus into our life.
1. Never exclude Jesus from any area in your life.
2. 1 Cor 6:10 reminds us that we are not our own. We have been bought at a price (Jesus died for us), so we need to honor God with all what we have and do everyday.
3. Jesus has ACCESS RIGHTS to everything we are and do.
4. We need to stop holding back and give Him FULL ACCESS.
2. PICTURE THIS! In too many lives, Jesus is left outside looking in (Rev 3:20). There are many times when Jesus has the solution to our problems, and He waits patiently for us to invite Him in. Why not make that happen today? To be continued Monday!

May God help us to realize the rare treasures we have in Jesus Christ.
In the Son of Man, Vic.

A Thursday Prayer and Message!

Thursday, July 14, 2011

A Blessed Thursday Morning To Everyone. Take care of yourself and let God do all the rest. Give God all the glory and praise.

PRAYER: "Merciful and Loving Father, God of all Creation! Thank You for revealing to us so many example of faith in scripture and in life. May our faith be a heritage to our love ones and to others. You have shown us Your love and Your commandments so we may walk in them. Help us to have a heart like David. Although he made aweful mistakes in his life, he is known as "a man after Your heart". Enable us to keep the faith now, and for the future generations to come, that they may follow our examples as we follow Jesus, our Lord. This we pray and ask in His blessed name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: JESUS, THE SON OF MAN!
1. The second portrait of Jesus show us Jesus at a Jewish wedding feast (John 2:1-2).
a. The CIRCUMSTANCES surrounding the wedding feast are as follows:
1. Jewish marriage customs, the BETROTHAL, lasted about a year.
2. In the evening, the bride was led to the bridegroom's home.
3. The ceremony included a supper that was followed by festivities which often lasted more than a day.
4. Mary is never mentioned by name in the Gospel of John; only as the "mother of Jesus".
5. We do not know who is getting married, but we believe it was a kinsman of Jesus: perhaps a brother, a sister or a cousin.
6. Mary is involved with and in the festivity arrangments.
7. Jesus is at the wedding along with Andrew, Simon, Philip, John and Nathanael, some of His disciples.
2. PICTURE THIS! If we learn anything from this portrait, it is that Jesus chooses to participate in everyday, common routine events in people's life. Jesus isn't just for Sundays and Wednesdays, but for everyday. Jesus is either Lord of all, or He isn't Lord of all in our life (Acts 10:36). Is Jesus Lord of your life? Or, are you holding back on Him? To be continued Friday!

May the happiness In Jesus, the Son of Man, we feel today go on and on and on forever.
In His Marvelous Grace, Vic.

I love what you said, " Is Jesus Lord of your life? Or, are you holding back on Him?" Sometimes I feel like I am holding back on Him! Thanks for making me aware of the times when I am "holding back". I pray I will be aware of those times, and not hold back anything, anymore!

A Wednesday Prayer and Message!

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Aloha Everyone! Stay committed to your faith and it will become a reality. Give God all the praise and glory.

PRAYER: "Holy Father, Loving God! Help us to remember our life before we trusted You and obeyed Jesus; how we lived in hopelessness; how we dwelt in self, pride and negative thoughts; how Jesus tranformed us by the power of His WORD; but You had plans for us and now we live in HOPE; hope in Your promises, hope in Your WORD, hope for the future; hope of a resurrection, and hope of eternal life. You are indeed the One and only One True God who cares about us. You renew our strength daily. We soar on wings like eagles. We run and not grow weary. We walk and not faint. Thank You Father! Thank You Jesus! Thank You Holy Spirit! These things we pray in Jesus' name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: A Portrait of Jesus in John's Gallery!
1. As we move on from the first portrait and approach the second portrait, we notice immediately that Jesus is not only God, but He is also SON OF MAN!
a. The second portrait deals with the life of Jesus.
b. There is a scene of a wedding taking place in Cana of Galilee (John 2:1-11).
c. We see Jesus, the Son of Man, in all His humanity.
d. We see Jesus getting involed in the problems and situations of ordinary everyday life.
2. Cana of Galilee is a village on the west side of the Sea of Galilee.
a. "Cana" is mentioned only three times in scripture, and only in the Gospel of John.
1. John 2:1 and 11, where Jesus performed His first recorded miracle.
2. John 4:46, where Jesus healed a nobleman's son.
3. John 21:2, as Nathanael's hometown.
b. Two sites are given today as possible sites for Cana:
1. One is about four miles northeast of Nazarath.
2. The other site is about nine miles north of Nazarath.
3. PICTURE THIS! We have been invited to attend a wedding. Did you know that Jesus has a bride and that preparation for His wedding is being made even as we speak (Rev 19:6-10). Have you received your invittation? To be continued Thursday!

May today be the beginning of a lifetime of beautiful days! In His Love, Vic.
