A Sunday Spiritual Hymn!

Sunday, May 29, 2011

A B;lessed Sunday Morning To Everyone. Today's hymn is an oldie and a favorite of many souls. The words and music were written by Martin Luther in 1529. The inspiration for this hymn came from Ps 18:2, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom will I trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower".

TITLE: A MIGHTY FORTRESS

1. A mighty fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing,
Our helper He, amid the flood or mortal ills prevailing.
For still our ancient foe, Doth seek to work us woe, His craft and power are great,
And armed with cruel hate, On earth is is not his equal.

2. Did we in our strength confide, Our strife would be losing,
Were not the right One on our side, The Man of God's own choosing.
Dost ask who that may be? It is He, the Lord Sabbath, is His name,
From age to age, the same, And He must win the battle.

3. And tho this world, with evil filled, Should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph thru us,
Let goods and kindred go, This mortal life also; The body they may kill:
God's truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever.

Have a Blessed Weekend! In His Power and Love, Vic.

A Saturday Spiritual Hymn!

Saturday, May 28, 2011

Goooooooooooooood Morning Everyone! Today's hymn is a wonderful oldie hymn of praise and adoration. The music was created first by J. J. Husband in 1815, and the words was created by William P. MacKay later in 1863. The inspiration for this hymn came from Ps 85:6, "Will you not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?"

TITLE: We Praise Thee, O God

1. We praise Thee, O God, for the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus who died, and is now gone above. (REFRAIN).

2. We praise Thee, O God, for the Spirit of light,
Who has show us our Savior and scattered our night. (REFRAIN).

3. All glory and praise to the Lamb that was slain,
Who has borne all our sins, and has cleansed every stain. (REFRAIN).

4. All glory and praise to the God of all grace,
Who has bought us and sought us and guided our way. (REFRAIN).

5. Revive us again: fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled with fire from above. (REFRAIN).

REFRAIN:
Hallelujah! Thine the glory, Hallelujah Amen!
Hallelujah! Thine the glory; Revive us again.

Have a wonderful weekend and may God bless everyone. In His love, Vic.

A Friday Prayer and Message!

Friday, May 27, 2011

A Glorious Morning To Everyoone! Thank you for your comments and responses. Give God all the glory!

PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, Most High God! We pray today that we may receive the power to comprehend what is the breath and length and height and depth of your love, and that we may be filled with all the fullness of our loving God. Help us not to plan our own life because that would be small, but help us to allow You to be the Great planner for our life because that would be BIG. Enable us to take You at your Word today and everyday. Guide us as we go forward in faith, that love beyond our knowleadge or any measure in us may abound in Christ Jesus our Lord, because with Him all things are possible. His love for us is limitless; so let our faith in Him be limitless. This we ask and pray in His glorious name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Following Jesus!
1. Can you name some work that God has done for us?
a. Here is one of my favorite: Rom 8:28,
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose".
1. Do you believe what this verse says, "That all things work together for good to them that love God"? God has proven this to me time and time again.
2. Do you love God? How much do you love God? Has He proven to you what this verse says? Did something good come from what we thought was something bad?
3. Has He not called you according to His Eternal Purpose? What is his Eternal Purpose for you and me? Is it not to put off the old man, put on the new man, and give the new man complete control of our life so we can spend eternity with HIM?
2. Think about this! Is there not a condition on this work and promise? Is this condition not for those who love Him and have been called and answered that call according to His Eternal Purpose? To Be Continued Monday!

May we be blessed and our prayers answered today. In His Love, Vic.

A Thursday Prayer and Message!

Thursday, May 26, 2011

Goooooooooooooooooooood Morning Everyone! Destruction and death are tied together. When we pursue or find one, we will also find the other. So what is our alternatice?
JESUS! Praise God!

PRAYER: " Merciful Father, Redeeming God! You warned us that in faithfulness Jesus will bring forth justice. Like a lawn fill with weeds, He will destroy the weeds and save the grass that He might have a beautiful lawn. While destruction might seem like a strange place to find grace, God is there administering justice and offering mercy. Jesus is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat and uprooting the weeds that threaten a single green blade of righteousness. Create in us O God, a clean heart. Put a new spirit within us, an oobedient and loving spirit. Help us to repent of our sins and clear us from all hidden faults so we will not die spiritually, but rather live with You throughout all eternity. This we pray in Jesus' glorious name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Following Jesus!
1. God has given us His formula for what we need to do in order to change our life in accordance with His will.
a. The formula has three parts and is found in Eph 4:22-24.
1. We need to put off the old man.
2. We need to put on the new man.
3. We need to renew our minds by turning all power and control to the new man.
b. We have seen 4 STEPS out of 12 STEPS on how to change our mind.
1. Change our purpose in Life.
2. Believe we can change with the help of God.
3. Study the Bible about our habits.
4. Repent of our sins.
c. And now, STEP #5: Develop a Plan of Action!
1. What's the problem? Prov 14:22 says, "Do they not go astray that devise evil?"
2. Not willing to change our minds completely is the same as going astray.
3. In God's eyes this is evil.
4. God has developped and provided for us a plan of action.
5. We must therefore follow His Plan.
3. Think about this! Does the Bible give us anyone else to follow besides Jesus? "NO!"
Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life, and no man comes unto the Father except through me". Jesus brings us justice and offers mercy.....which one do you want?
To Be Continued Tomorroow!

May God Be Merciful unto us and bless uus by His Apponted One, Jesus Christ.
In His Mercy, Vic.
