A Sunday Spiritual Hymn!

Sunday, May 15, 2011

A Blessed Sunday Morning To Everyone! Here a beautiful hymn created just a few years ago about one of the things Christians do . The words and the music were written by Twila Paris in 1991, The music was re- arranged later by Ken Young in 1993. The inspiration for this lovely hymn came from Ps 107:31-32, "...let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people".

TITLE: We Shall Assemble

We shall assemble on the moutain,

We shall assemb;le at the throne.

With humble hearts into His presence,

We bring an offering of song.

Glory and honor and dominion

Unto the Lamb, unto the King,

Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah,

We sing the song of the redeemed.

Meditate on these words as you go to your assembly to worship our God. Have a wonderful worship service. In His Grace, Vic.

The homily today was on the Good Shepard and how important it is that we gather together with our flock (and of course to go through the gate!).

A Saturday Spiritual Hymn!

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Goooooooooooooooooood Morning Everyone! Here is an oldie that was written by Priscila J. Owens back in 1874, and the music by William J. Kirkpatrick in 1882. The inspiration for this hymn came from Heb 6:18-19 - "...who fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope....which hope we have as an anchor of the soul....".

TITLE: We Have An Anchor

1. Will your anchor hold in the storms of life, When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tide lift, and the cable strain, Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?
(REFRAIN)

2. It is safely moored, twill the storm withstand, For tis well secured by the Saviors hands;
And the cable passed from His heart to mine, Can defy the blast, thru strength divine.
(REFRAIN)

3. When our eyes behold thru the gathering night, The city of gold, our habor bright.
We shall anchor fast by the heavenly shore, With the storm all past forevermore.
(REFRAIN)

REFRAIIN:
We have an anchor that keeps the soul,
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love.

Have a Safe and Wonderful Weekend! In His Love, Vic.

A Friday Prayer and Message!

Friday, May 13, 2011

We had a wonderful cooling rain yesterday.....it made the gardens happy. Praise God!

PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, God of All Creation! Reveal to us any place in our heart where we have not forgiven someone. We have made this request before, and we do not desire to be trapped by resentment , even though we struggle not to allow it to happen. Enable us with the power of forgiveness. We do not want to forfeit your forgiveness to us because we failed to forgive someone else. Strengthen our faith and help us to grow in the spiritual graces. This we pray in the Blessed name of Jesus our Savior and Friend, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Following Jesus!
1. The call to follow Jesus is not just about manly courage, but about courages faith.
a. God told Joshua in Jos 1:6: "Be strong and of good courage". WHY?
1. That he might inherit the promised land (for us, heaven) (vs 6).
2, That he may prosper (have success) wherever he goes (vs 7).
3. So that God's Law will not depart from him (vs 8).
4. That God will be with him wherver he goes (vs 9).
b. The promise was not just for Joshua, but also for every Christian throughout the ages.
c. The command is still: "BE STRONG and of GOOD COURAGE".
2. Think about this! If we want God to be with us wherever we go, doesn't it make sense that we must also do His will and make the changes He has commanded us to make? To Be Continued Monday!

May God Bless each one of you today with the spiritual and physical blessings from heaven.
In His Mercy, Vic.

A Thursday Prayer and Message!

Thursday, May 12, 2011

It was good to have a little rain last night after almost 60 days without rain. Praise the Lord! Let's remember all the folk who have had their homes flooded.

PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, Beloved God! Help us to find freedom from those things in life that keeps us bounded. Your Word teaches us that PRAYER is the key to being set free. Prayer with fasting is even more powerful. Help us to understand the authority You have given us in prayer to release Your Power from heaven in order to see freedom become a reality in our life, and in the lives of those for whom we pray. Father, teach us how to pray with such power that loosen us from our bonds. We thank You and we PRAISE Your Name for the Awesome God that You are. These things we ask in the name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Following Jesus!
1. How else is God willing to help us change?
a. 2 Cor 9:8 - tells us the following:
1. "God is able to make all grace abound towards us". In other words, God will not hold back anything from us to help us change, but will make everytrhing available so that we can change. This He has done through His Beloved Son, our Lord, and through His Word and Spirit.
2. "That we, always having all sufficiency IN ALL THINGS, may abound to every good work". In other words, we lack nothing except our own desire to believe, obey and follow Jesus. That's our part. God has done and is doing His.
b. Eph 3:20-21 - tells us that God can do exceeding abundantly more than we can ever ask or think, according to His power that works in us, and unto Him be the glory in the church by Jesus Christ forever. Notive that the "GLORY' comes through the CHURCH, Jesus is the HEAD of the CHURCH and we are the BODY. This is God's glory!
2. Think abou this! If God is not holding back anything that keeps us from changing according to His will, who is it that is holding us back? To Be Continued Tomorrow!

May God's blessings from heaven flow down to us as our prayers rise up to Him.
In His Grace, Vic.

A Wednesday Prayer and Message!

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Let The Son Shine In! Everyday Jesus is in our life is a beautiful day, no matter what happens...and it's always exciting. Give God the glory!

PRAYER: "Loving Father, Glorious God! We lift our faces towards heaven as we seek You, Your Love, Your Grace and Your Mercy. Then we lower our heads with a humble spirit and a grateful heart as we enter your throne of grace. We just want to thank You today, thank you for Jesus, for your Scheme of Redemption, for your Word which is Truth, for your Truth which sets us free, for the gosel of Jesus which is our salvation, for Jesus' atoning sacrifice which made all things possible, for His example on how to live, and for for his invitation to follow Him. For all these things and many more, we thank YOU! This we pray in Jesus' blessed name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Following Jesus!
1. How much is God willing to help us change?
a. Eph 6:10-18 - tells us He is willing to give us His armor to protect us.
1. The Christian battle is from now until Jesus returns.
2. The 'putting on" OF THE WHOLE ARMOR of God demands immediate action on our part.
3. This is a fierce battle against all evil, with even hand-to-hand combat, and our souls at stake.
4. The Whole Armor of God consist of six pieces: 1. Truth, 2. The Breastplate of Righteousness, 3. Preparation for the Gospel of Peace, 4. The Shield of Faith, 5. The Helmet of Salvation, and 6. The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
b. How shall we stans against all evil if we are not prepared and totally equiped?
c. How shall we be equiped if we do not obey?
d. How shall we obey unless we hear and understand?
e. How shall we hear and understand unless we believe we can change with the help of God?
2. Think about this! Satan lies at our door and desires us; and the only thing that can save us from him is Christ, if we put on the WHOLE ARMOR of God. Anything less is meaningless. To Be Continued Tomorrow!

May heaven help us to see and understand with our hearts the message of salvation according to His WORD. In His Love, Vic.
