A Wednesday Prayer and Message!

Wednesday, May 04, 2011

A Glorious Morning To Everyone! Thank you for your wonderful comments and redponses. I read them all and appreciate them. Give God all the praise!

PRAYER: "Holy Father, Glorious God! Help us not to neglect our walk with You. Show us how not to be concerned with outward appearances which often are deceiving, with selfish pursuits which gain us nothing eternal, and with the condition of our own house while we neglect Your house. Teach us to be concerned with spiritual growth which enable us to draw closer to You through our Lord. Teach us to be concerned with unselfish serve which makes us more like Jesus. Teach us to take better care of Your house than we do our own house. Show us how to set our prioroties in order so we may walk with You daily and lift Jesus up to a world lost in sin. This we pray and ask in the Blessed name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Following Jesus!
1. In STEP ! We learned there are three things we can do that help us to change our purpose in life:
a. We must change our love and dedication to God.
b. We must imitate Christ in our daily living.
c. We must desire eternal life and not eternal punishment.
2. NOW STEP 2: We must believe we can change with God's help.
a. Prov 4:23 gives us the key for doing this: "Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are all the issues of life".
b. Jesus said in Matt 15:18, that those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and these are the things which defiles us.
c. The word "heart" as used often in scripture is translated "mind" because the Hebrews had no separate word for "mind".
d. The word "heart" served to represent the seat of intellect.
e. The key to the whole man is the "mind", that which defines man.
f. Whatever captures the mind, captures the man.
3. What do you think about this? Sin is the chief weapon Satan uses to capture man. Jesus said we are to "put off the old man' by "renewing our mind" and "put on the new man" which is created in the likeness of Christ in order to change. What is the condition of your heart? Who has captured your heart? To Be Continued Tomorrow!

May God bless and help everyone to purify the heart (mind) with his teaching and training.
In His Heart, Vic.

A Tuesday Prayer and Message!

Tuesday, May 03, 2011

Goooooooooooood Morning Everyone! Thank you for your wonderful comments and responses. Give God the glory!

PRAYER: "Holy Father, Amighty God! Thank You for your great love! You are with us always and mighty to save. We take great delight in You, in serving You and in worshipping You. You quiet us with your wonderful love, grace and mercy. We rejoice over You with singing and gladness. Your love covers us and protects us from our enemies. Help us to always remember this, even when we go through difficuly times that shake our very foundation, a foundation which is established on our Lord Jesus Christ. Our security is sustained by Your Great Love. Thank You Father, for Jesus and His love for us. This we pray this morning in His glorious name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Following Jesus!
1. The scripture tells us in many verses that "the crown of life" is a glorious crown.
a. Compare the crown faithful Christians will receive with the one that was placed on Jesus' head at Calvary ( Matt 27:29; Rev 2:10).
b. 2 Pet 1:11 - tells us, "For so an entrance shall be ministered (supplied) unto you (HOW?) abundantly, (WHERE?) into the everlasting kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ".
1. The "everlasting kingdom" is the eternal home of Jesus Christ where He is the undisputed ruler.
2. The "everlasting kingdom" is synonmynous with " heaven", the rich inheritance and resting place for the saints of God.
2. When we lack motivation to change our life, consider:
a. God's great love for us.
b. The importance of being like Christ.
c. The reward, the everlasting kingdom (heaven), that is our destiny.
3. What do you think about this? What on earth can compare with the riches and blessings that awaits true believers? Consider the consequences if we choose now the riches of this earth over the riches of heaven later. To Be Continued Tomorrow!

May our hearts burn with desire for eternal life in Christ Jesus and to live with Him forever.
In His Marvelous Love, Vic.

    Just what I needed to read just now. I especially liked being reminded to consider God's great love when I lack the motivation to change. Turning to God for strength and motivation beats turning to myself. He is all in all.

A Monday Prayer and Message!

Monday, May 02, 2011

A Blessed Morning To Everyone! We trust everyone had a terrific weekend and now ready for the weekdays. Praise God and give Him all the glory!

PRAYER; "Heavenly Father, Loving God! We call upon you majestic name! Help us to have the understanding and faith to keep on praying and not give up if we do not receive an answer right away. Your way and Your decision is always perfect and best for us; so let us wait with pataince for the right answer to our request and need for Your reply, direction, guidance, and will for us. Put the desire in our hearts to always keep praying and to seek your kingdom and righteousness. This we pray in the blessed name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!".

MESSAGE: Following Jesus!
1. We have seen sofar, in STEP ONE: Changing our Purpose In Life:
a. We must change our love and dedication to God.
b. We must imitate Christ in the life we live.
2. Now, lets look at at third requirement: We must desire eternal life and not eternal punishment.
a. 1 Cor 9:24-25 - tells us we must run the race of life so we may obtain the price that has been offered.
1. Atheltes run a race to obtain a corruptable (perishable) prize.
2. Christiams run a race to obtain an incorruptable (imperishable) prize.
b. What is this prize? James 1:12 says,
1. "Blessed is the man that endures temptation; for when he is tried (proven), he shall receive the "Crown of Life", which the Lord has promised to them that love Him".
2. What is this "Crown of Life"?
3. To Be Continued Tomorrow!
3. What do you think about this? Do you see yourself running in the race of life? What is the prize that is promised to winners? What is the prize for those who do not run and /or those that run but do not complete the race?

May God's blessings from heaven reach our hearts, minds and souls, and illuminate the truth and the way for God's children. In His Love, Vic.

A Sunday Spiritual Hymn!

Sunday, May 01, 2011

Goooooooooood Morning Everyone! Today's lyrics were written by Jessie Brown Pounds in 1887, and the music by Helen Alexander Dixon in 1915. The inspiration for this hymn came from Matthew 8:23-26, "Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a greart calm".

TITLE: Anywhere With Jesus

1. Anywhere with Jesus, I can safely go, Anywhere He leads in this world below;
Antwhere without Him dearest joys would fade, Anywhere with Jesus I am not afraid.

2. Anywhere with Jesus , I am not alone; Other friends may fail me, He is still my own;
Tho his hands may lead me over dreaest ways, Anywhere with Jesus is a house of praise.

3. Anywhere with Jesus, over land and sea, Telling souls in darkness of salvation free;
Ready as He summons me to go or stay, Anywhere with Jesus when He points the way.

4. Anywhere with Jesus, I can go to sleep, When the darking shadows round about me creep,
Knowing I shall waken nevermore to roam; Anywhere with Jesus will be home, sweet home.

Anywhere, anywhere! Fear I cannot know;
Anywhere with Jesus I can safely go.

Have a wonderful day of worship and praise! In His Care, Vic.

A Saturday Spiritual Hymn!

Saturday, April 30, 2011

Gooooooooooooooooooooood Morning Everyone! Yesterday we spoke about our God who is illuminating. Today's hymn follows that theme. The words and the music were created by Graham Kendrick in 1988, and rearranged by Ken Young in 1993. The inspiration for this hymn came from John 12:46, where Jesus said, "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes in me should not abide in darkness".

TITLE" Shine, Jesus Shine

1. Lord, the light of Your love is shining.
In the midst of the darkness, shining,
Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us,
Set us free by the truth You now bring us;
Shine on me, shine on me.

2. Lord, I come to Your awesome presence,
From the shadows into Your radiance,
By the blood I may enter Your brightness,
Search me, try me, consume all my darkness,
Shine on me, shine on me.

Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father's glory.
Blaze, Spirit , blaze, set out hearts on fire,
Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy,
Send forth Your Word, Lord, and let there be light!

Thank You all for your wonderful and inspiring comments!
In His Light, Vic.
