A Friday Morning Prayer and Message!

Friday, January 21, 2011

Aloha SP Members! It's been a wonderful week! Thank You Lord!

PRAYER: "Merciful Father, Almight God! We thank You for Jesus! He paid the price for our sins, a debt we can never repay. Because of Him, we have been reconciled to You our God, so we can spend eternity with You. Help us to extend to others the love and forgiveness You have given us. Teach us ways we can showYou our gratitude for all You have done. Cleanse us from all our sinful ways and guide us in the way of salvation and righteousness. This we pray in the name of Jesus, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Will we be doing now the things we would be doing when Jesus returns?
1. 1 Thes 5:1-6 - Answers the question, "When will Jesus Return?"
a. We know the signs of seasons and time, but the time Jesus will return," the day of the Lord" will come as a thief in the night (unexpectedly).
b. Many will be caught doing acts that are contrary to what we should be doing.
c. How should we be acting?
1. As children of light and of Day, so we do not have to face the wrath of God, but will be saved.
2. Not as children of night and of darkness who will have to face the wrath of God and be lost forever.
d. Let us watch and be sober (self-control) in doing what we have been taught and commanded to do.
2. What do you think about this? Will we hear Jesus say when he returns, "And why call me Lord, Lord, and do not the things I say"? (Luke 6:46) To Be Continued!
May heaven help us to get right with God today and not wait until tomorrow.
In His Love, Vic.

Thank you for your daily blogs! Each one speaks directly to ME. Today, I've made a renewed commitment to self-control and restraint in those things that are not glorifying to The Lord - especially consumption of alcohol and 'bad' food.

Self-control is one of those things we have to keep working on. I know that I am more self-controlled than a number of years ago. It comes down to daily asking God to control me!

A Thursday Morning Prayer and Message!

Thursday, January 20, 2011

Greetings SP Members, from God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit! Give God all the praise and glory and honor He deserves!

PRAYER: "Holy Father, Eternal God! Help us never to be careless about Your ways or Your Word. Enable us to not allow anything that has to do with my worship and service to you to become lifeless or just a ritual that has no depth of meaning, no purpose, no sincerity, no love. Keep the discipline of prayer, praise, studying your Word, and living your Word, fresh and alive within our hearts so that we will always have the passionate hunger and living thirst to be in your presence and in your care. This we pray and ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Do we sincerely act for the well-being of others, or do we act in our own interest?
1. 1 Cor 13:1-8 - Reveals the way of true love:
a. Let us love others as Christ loved us, for our well-being, not his. He died for us.
b. It's possible to have faith, and yet not loved. We are nothing without love.
c. What good is our actions for others if it is not motivated by love. It profit us nothing.
d. What are the qualities of love:
1. It suffers long.
2. It is kind.
3. It envies not.
4. it does not brag.
5. It is not arrogant.
6. It does not behave itself unseemly.
7. It seeks not it's own interest.
8. It is not easily provoked.
9. It thinks no evil.
10. It rejoices not in inquity but in God's truth.
11. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things.
12. It never fails.
2. What do you think about this? What does your love say about you? To Be Continued!
May the love of God show us how to overcome our human weaknesses.

While we may think we are loving, when we check out our quality of loving against that list, we may find we need to work on something -- or maybe a lot of things!

A Wednesday Morning Prayer and Message!

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Gooooooooooooood Morning SP Members! For those of you who respond daily with your input....Thanks! Give God the glory!

PRAYER: "Holy Father, Caring God! Show us the power of "Little-by-Little".
Grant us the patience to wait on You for an answer to our prayers. We confess we want all answers to appear now, but we know Your timing is perfect, and You will answer our prayers in a way and in a time that is best for us. Help us to understand the things that are happening around us in response to our prayers, answers we may not see. Enable us to envision the step-by-step, little-by-little, process that is being made as You mold us into the image of our Lord. This we pray in the name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

MESSAGE: How does love relate to actions?
1. 1 John 3:16-18 - Jesus demonstrates and explain how love relates to actions:
a. The way to perceive love, that is the Love of God, is:
1. He (Jesus) laid down his life for us.
2. To follow his example, we must be willing to lay down our life for the brethren.
b. To have this world's goods and see a brethren in need and shut up our hearts to him/her, how can we say the love of God dwells in us?
c. The commandment is: "Let us not just love in words and tongue, but with deeds and truth that prove that love.
2. What do you think about this? Love that observes a need and does not minister to it is no love at all. To Be Continued!
May our hearts never condem us, but bless us, as we grow "Little-by-little" each day and become more like Jesus. In His Magnificent Love, Vic.

Thank you so very much........ there are times when we are so hurt that the idea of loving another is very hard to comprehend , but than as we turn to God for help when our foundations are shaken we only come to learn that it is God shaking them.

A Tuesday Morning Prayer and Message!

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Greeting SP Members! It was time to mow the yard yesterday. Praise God!

PRAYER: " Heavenly Father, the God who lives in heaven and dwells in our hearts. Help us to learn to pray in power and with power. Increase our faith to believe for the answers to our prayers. Enable us to become an intercessor for others, especially for those who do not know You, but also for those that do know You. We pray this morning that everyone around us will be able to recognize by the life we live that we are Christians of great faith and power in prayer. Increase our trust in You to whom we pray and our dependance on Your power.
This we pray this morning in Jesus' precious name, Amen!"

MESSAGE: How are we to treat others if we love them?
1. Matt 7:12 - The Golden Rule given for us to follow:
a. "In all things" tells us not to put boundaries or borders on our activities to which we are called.
b. What we would like others to do good unto us, let us likewise do good unto them.
c. This Rule is derived from the second commadment: Matt 22:39, "Love thy neighbor as thyself".
d. If we receive a negative stroke, we are to return a positive stroke for in doing so we are fulfilling God's Law.
2. Rom 13:8-10 - Sets our social responsibility for loving others.
a. Not to owe anyone anything but love; this fulfills the Law.
b. Love works no ill to his neighbors, but works good towards all men, thereby fulfilling God'a Law.
c. The Law points the way and Jesus came to fulfill and die for that Law.
3. What do you think about this? Are you doing what the Law requires and for which Jesus died? To Be Continued!
May God's blessings of love and righteousness be poured out on us today. In His Love, Vic.

A Monday Morning Prayer and Message!

Monday, January 17, 2011

Goooooooooooooooood Morning SP Members! We had a wet but lovely weekend. Praise God!

PRAYER: "Our Father who art in heaven, God of the universe! We live in a land where freedom is granted like no other country in this world; and yet, we cry out to You for deliverance from all those things that keeps us from being all You want us to be. Set us free from the temptations and from everything that separates us from You. We know that even in the midst of what seems a hopeless case, You hear our cry and deliver us from all things that would cause us to become slaves to this world. Your greatest works has always been manifested in your love and care for your people. Thank You for being our God of Deliverance, the God of Miracles. Bless us today with your love, mercy and grace. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior, Amen!"

MESSAGE: What should our motive be for our actions?
1. Matt 22:37-40 - Jesus lays down a principle for us to follow:
a. "Love the Lord thy God". HOW?
1. With all thy heart.
2. With all thy soul.
3. With all thy mind.
4. Mark 12:30 adds, "With all thy strength".
b. We are given not one but two commandments:
1. "a" above is the first commandment.
2. The second is like unto the first: "Love thy neighbor as thyself".
c. All other commandments are derived from these two commandments.
d. Notice what it really says:
1. We cannot love God until we learn to love others.
2. We cannot love others until we learn to love ourselves.
2. What do you think about this? What motivation is reflected in your actions and behavior? To Be Continued!

May God help us by showing us the true meaning of love and how to apply it in our lives. In His Love, Vic.

I think that to love ourselves -- in spite of all of our failings -- we do have to begin with realizing that God loves each one of us and created us for a purpose.
