A Wednesday Morning Prayer and Message:

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

Aloha Spark Members! What a glorious New Year this is going to be! Praise God!

PRAYER: " Heavenly Father, Glorious God! You formed us from the dust of the ground and breathed into our nostrils the breathe of life, and we became a LIVING BEING. Thank You for the Breath of Life and your creation. We pray You will breathe New Life into us everyday of this New Year. Just as You spoke and brought life in your magnificient creation, help us to speak Your Word of Life into our small world. How grateful and blessed we are to be closely connected to You everyday. Bless us and guide us through this New Year so we may walk according to your will and not our's. This we pray and ask this morning in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen!"

MESSAGE: Who else should we submit to?
1. Eph 5:22-24 - Wife, submit yourself to your husband as you submit to the Lord. Husband, love your wife even as Christ Loved the Church and gave himself for her. WHY?
a. Marriage is a symbol of a greater marriage: OF CHRIST and THE CHURCH!
b. Christians form the body of Christ.
c. The world needs to hear and see the nature of the Church and the love of God through us.
2. 1 Pet 3:1-6 - Wife, let your adorning not be just an outward adorning, but rather an inward adorning, (Your inner qualities) that manifest Christ living in you.
3. 1 Pet 3:7 - Husband, give honor to your wife, and together be joint heirs of the grace of life in Christ Jesus.
4. Gen 2:24 - Marriage is a symbol of unity, as the husband and wife is a symbol of ONE in Christ. Purpose: To Be One in everything.
5. What do you think" What does you life symbolize? To Be Continued!

May heaven's blessings of grace and unity be your connection everyday.
In Hid Love, Vic.

A Tuesday Morning Prayer and Message!

Tuesday, January 04, 2011

Greetings Spark Members! Thank you for all your responses and comments on the prayers and messages. Praise God!

PRAYER: "Loving Father, Awesome God! We're part of the family that's been born again...Your Family! Part of the family whose love knows no end; For Jesus has saved us , and made us his own; Now we're part of the family that's on its way home. And sometimes we laugh together, sometimes we cry; sometimes we share together heartaches and sighs; sometimes we dream together, of how it should be, When we all get to heaven, God's Family! Help us through the thorns and thistles of this life; help us to be free from those things which so easily ensnare us; Help us to get through the valleys of life; and help us to grow in your love and obedience to You. This we ask and pray in the precious name of Jesus our Lord, Amen!"

MESSAGE" Who else should we respect?
1. Eph 6:1-3 - "Children obey your parents". Why?
a. God has given them authority over them.
b. It is right!
c. It is the first commandment with a promise:
d. "That it may be well with us, and we may live long on earth".
2. Rom 2:30-32 - Lists "disobedient to parents" among the list of acts which we consider terrible.
3. Col 3:20 - Teaches children to obey their parents in all things. Why?
a. For this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
4. Are we not all children in God's Family? So this applies to us also!
5. What do you think? Are you setting the right example for your children?
To Be Continued! May God give us all Christian homes! In His Love, Vic.

Thank you Sweetie for your teaching today, but my thoughts are these, children can always listen to their parents, but they won't always obey what they've listened to.

I'd have to say obey, unless, their parents are teaching them things that is not according to God's law. There are so many exceptions, but to the general public, I'd have to say obey.

A Monday Morning Prayer and Mesage!

Monday, January 03, 2011

Goooooooooooooooooood Morning SparkPeople! How blessed we are! Let's thank God and give Him all the glory.

PRAYER: " Eternal Father, Loving God, we are indeed grateful for the New year, 2011, and for everyday you give us this year. Help us to make better choices in every area of our lives in 2011, then we did in 2010. Make us new each day, dear Lord, make us new. For in so many ways we are not enough like you. Take this weary vessel we are in and mold us once again. Take our life and take our spirit, make us new, make us new to Your Glory and Honor. This we pray this morning in the precious name of Jesus or Lord, Amen!"

MESSAGE: To Whom Are We Commanded To Submit?
1. Acts 5:29 - Teaches us we ought to obey God rather than man. Yet, God has ordained certain people and given them authority over us. We must obey these authorities unless they command us to sin. Who are these people?
a. Rom 13:1-7 - says, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers (those who govern over us)." Why? Because "higher powers" are established by God.
1. They are held accountable By God for the way in which they govern.
2. They are not a terror to good works, but to evil.
3. They are to minister the wrath of God to those who do evil.
4. Let us therefore render tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom is due; fear unto whom fear is due; honor unto whom honor is due.
b. But let us be aware of the dangers involved between politics and religion.
1. Politics is a system of compromise which often leads to corruption.
2. Politics often spill into religion and corrupts it.
3. Religion is a system of steadfastness, directing us to stand, to be unmovable, yet flexible enough to bend while standing firm.
2. What do you think about that? How steadfast are you? To be Continued!
May our loving God open up our hearts and minds to the dangers around us as we strive daily to serve and live for Jesus our Lord. In His Love, Vic.

2011, Making Better Choices!

Saturday, January 01, 2011

We know that using a Low Glysemic Index Chart to plan our meals is a better choice in healthy eating. But what about portions? Here is a simple rule we can follow: When we serve the food on our plate and we look at it from a top view, what should we see?
1. 60% of the plate is filled with Veggies and fruit; 40% is filled with either protein or starch, but not both. This portion is GOOD! OR!
2. 70% of the plate is filled with veggies and fruit; 30% is filled with either protein or starch, but not both. This portion is BETTER! OR!
3. 80% of the plate is filled with veggies and fruit; 20% is filled with either protein or strach, but not both. This portion is BEST!

What do YOU think? What choice will you make? God Bless, Vic.

My plan is to start with the 60 to 70%. It should not be too difficult for me for lunch and supper. I 'm not sure what I will be eating for breakfast though.
(Recent blood work showed my blood proteins to be a bit low --- and I do like my grains. Physician thought that I was going low protein to lose weight. Not true.
( Decisions, decisions, decisions)

And I know ice cream is none of the above foods allowed. emoticon

Sounds pretty good, Vic. I have read, though, that we need a small amount of the "good" fats. I don't seem to have any trouble getting some fat in my diet!! HAHA
I really like the 80% veggies and fruit. I have been trying new ones lately and have found some I really like.
Thanks for the blog and my best to you.

A Saturday Morning Hymn and Message!

Saturday, January 01, 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR SPARKPEOPLE! Let's show our gratitude by PRAISING GOD who has given us today, a new day, a new year, in which to make better choices. Amen!

HYMN TITLE: Instruments of Your Peace

Refrain:
Lord, make us instruments of Your peace, Where there is hatred let Your love increase, Lord make us instruments of Your peace, Walls of pride and prejudice shall cease, When we are Your instruments of peace.

1. Where there is hatred we will sow His love, Where there is injury we will never judge, Where there is striving we will speak His peace, To the people crying for release, We will be His instruments of peace.

Refrain:

2. Where there is blindness we will pray for sight, Where there is darkness we will shine His light, Where there is sadness we will bear their grief, To the millions crying for release, We will be His instruments of peace.

Refrain:

"Father, whatever this new year may bring, help us to remember day by day as we strive to serve others and share the Gospel of our Lord with them, that we are being renewed daily, each step of the way by our Loving Lord. We thank You and praise You in Jesus' name, Amen!"

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let's make it a GOOD ONE! In His Love, Vic.
