A Friday Morning Thought!

Friday, July 09, 2010

An enemy takes up more space in your head than a friend in the heart! Prov 18:24 says, "There is a friend that stickes closer than a brother". Prov 27:6 teaches us, "Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses". A friend has your best interest in mind. An enemy will lead you to distruction with sweet words. God seek those who would be his friend so that the heart may rejoice. Jesus said in John 15:14, "You are my friends if you do what I command". We sing, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", but are we a friend to him, not just in words but in deeds? God Bless, Vic.

A Thursday Morning Thought!

Thursday, July 08, 2010

Are you a player or just a spectator? Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God", say Rom 10:17. But what good does it do us just to hear and never put into practice what Jesus teaches us. James 1:22 teaches us, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. DO WHAT IT SAYS". Following Christ Jesus is not a spectator event. You need to hear and do, not what you want to do but what he says we must do. Jesus said in Matt 7:21, "Not everyone that says to me, "Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ONLY he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven". Following Christ is not a SPECTATOR activity; Following Christ is a PLAYER activity. Jesus said in Luke 9:23, "If anyone would come after me, he MUST deny himself, and TAKE UP his cross daily and FOLLOW me". Are you following Christ Jesus, or are you just watching? May God Bless Each and Everyone of you today, Vic.

Amen! These thoughts on Biblical success have been very helpful for me.

Twenty Cans Of Success

By: Neil Anderson
1. Why should I say I can't when the Bible says I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13)?

2. Why should I lack when I know that God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)?

3. Why should I fear when the Bible says God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)?

4. Why should I lack faith to fulfill my calling knowing that God as allotted to me a measure of faith (Romans 12:3)?

5. Why should I be weak when the Bible says that the Lord is the strength of my life and that I will display strength and take action because I know God (Psalm 27:1; Daniel 11:32)?

6. Why should I allow Satan supremacy over my life when He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)?

7. Why should I accept defeat when the Bible says that God always leads me in triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14)?

8. Why should I lack wisdom when Christ became wisdom to me from God and God gives wisdom to me generously when I ask Him for it (1 Corinthians 1:30; James 1:5)?

9. Why should I be depressed when I can recall to mind God's lovingkindness, compassion, and faithfulness and have hope (Lamentations 3:21-23)?

10. Why should I worry and fret when I can cast all my anxiety on Christ who cares for me (1 Peter 5:7)?

11. Why should I ever be in bondage knowing that there is liberty where the Spirit of the Lord is (2 Corinthians 3:17)?

12. Why should I feel condemned when the Bible says I am not condemned because I am in Christ (Romans 8:1)?

13. Why should I feel alone when Jesus said He is with me always and He will never leave me nor forsake me (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5)?

14. Why should I feel accursed or that I am the victim of bad luck when the Bible says that Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law that I might receive His Spirit (Galatians 3:13-14)?

15. Why should I be discontented when I, like Paul, can learn to be content in all my circumstances (Philippians 4:11)?

16. Why should I feel worthless when Christ became sin on my behalf that I might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21)?

17. Why should I have a persecution complex knowing that nobody can be against me when God is for me (Romans 8:31)?

18. Why should I be confused when God is the author of peace and He gives me knowledge through His indwelling Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:33; 2:12)?

19. Why should I feel like a failure when I am a conqueror in all things through Christ (Romans 8:37)?

20. Why should I let the pressures of life bother me when I can take courage knowing that Jesus has overcome the world and its tribulations (John 16:33)?

A Wednesday Morning Prayer!

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

Heavenly Father, help us to pray always from a right heart. Let us not cherish sin in our hearts for then you will not listen to our voice; but let us come to you with repentence seeking your forgiveness so that you hear our voice. We want our hearts to be right with You. We know that we do not do all things perfectly, so enable us by the power of your Holy Spirit to have a pure heart and clean hands. Thank you for loving us, forgiving us, and helping us to walk and do those things which are right and acceptable in your sight. These things we pray and ask in the precious name of Jesus our Lord, Amen. May God Bless each and everyone of you, Vic.

A Tuesday Morning Thought!

Tuesday, July 06, 2010

How shall we grow if our faith is not tested? Often, it is not announced like on the radio, "This is a test!" It just happens! Other times it is announced, or we know that it's coming. Sometimes we passed the test; sometimes we fail. Growing faith is not always predictable, but it needs to happen. So God test us from time to time, so we may grow; so we may move up to the next level of faith. You see , God doesn't want our death, but he wants our hearts and for us to move in closer to him. This often requires a full surrender to the Lord. We have to let go of those earthly things we hold more dear and precious. Listen to what Jesus said in Mark 8:34-35, "For those who want to save their own life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the gospel, will save it". Faith reguires trust in God in order to grow and draw neaer to him. Are you letting go of earthly possessions in order to grow in your faith? Earthly things will weigh you down. May God Bless Everyone with His Wisdom Today, Vic.

A Monday Afternoon Prayer!

Monday, July 05, 2010

Heavenly Father, we are indeed grateful for the freedom we enjoy here in this nation, a nation which you established. We thank you for this freedom knowing that you have given us a greater freedom than that. You teach us that your truth will set us free from sin and death and the grave. That truth is in our Lord, for all who believe and follow him. You assure us that if jesus sets us free, we are free indeed. Father, thank you for the blessings we enjoy in living in this free county, but thank you most of all for the freedom we enjoy now, and for the freedom we will enjoy even more in the life to come in our Lord, Jesus Christ. Father, continue to bless this country and let your hand of love, grace and mercy be upon it to turn it back to you. In His name we pray, Amen!
May God Bless Everyone, Vic.
