TODAY'S PRAYER AND BLESSING 11/15/2011

SPREAD THE SPARK OF GLORIFYING GOD TODAY!

SCRIPTURE:
1 Peter 4:16 - “Yet, if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf”.

TODAY’S PRAYER:

Most Holy Father, Eternal God! You have taught us to be faithful in an unfaithful world. We make right choices and yet we suffer because of it. Help us to understand the significance of suffering. In spite of appearances, we know that You are in control and have called us to be faithful; to trust You in all matters; to humble ourselves before You and place our life and our soul in your saving hands. Father, we live in a world where fire burns and nails pierce; agony and pain are distressing. Give us the courage to be faithful to You in all things, at all times, and in all circumstances. Remind us of the hope You have established for us, the home You have prepared for us, and the reward of eternal life that is ours in Christ Jesus. Thank You, Father, for the assurance that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ and Your love. Enable us to live that life of faithfulness to Your glory and praise. And when our life has ended, take us home to glory. These things we pray and ask in Jesus glorious name, Amen!

TODAY’S BLESSING:
May God bless us and strengthen us with the comfort of His Word and Truth.
Give God all the glory and praise!

SPREAD THE SPARK OF BEARING TODAY!

SCRITPTURE:
Heb 12:2 - “Looking unto Jesus the author (originator) and finisher (perfector) of our faith;…….”

TODAY’S HYMN:
History: Words by Ray Palmer (1830) and Music by Lowell Mason (1830). Inspiration came from Heb 12:2 . Four verses with no refrain.

“ MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE”

1. My faith looks up to Thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine;
Now hear me while I pray; Take all my guilt away;
And let me from this day Be wholly Thine.

2. May Thy rich grace impart Strength to my fainting heart, My zeal inspired;
As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee
Pure, warm and changeless be, A living fire.

3. When life’s dark maze I tread, And griefs around me spread, Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day, Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray From Thee aside.

4. When ends life transient dream, When death cold , sullen stream, Shall O’er me roll;
Blest Savior then in love, Fear and distrust remove,
O bear me safe above, A ransomed soul.

TODAY’S BLESSING:
“May God bless us and help us to give willingly and to receive your truth joyfully.
Sing Praises To His Glorious Name!

SPREAD THE SPARK OF SHARING TODAY!

SCRIPTURE:
Titus 2:13 - “Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ”.

TODAY’S HYMN:
History: Words by Alice Hawthorne in 1868, and music by Septimus Winner, also 1868. Inspiration from Titus 2:13. Three verses with refrain.

WHISPERING HOPE

1. Soft as the voice of an angel, Breathing a lesson unheard,
Hope with a gentle persuasion, Whispering her comforting word;
Wait till the darkness is over, Wait till life’s tempest is done,
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow, After the shower is gone. REFRAIN

2. If in the dusk of the twilight, Dim be the region afar,
Will not the deepening darkness, Brighten the glimmering star?
Then when the night is upon us, Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over, Watching the breaking of day. REFRAIN

3. Hope as anchor so steadfast, Rends the dark veil for the soul,
Whither the Master has entered, Robbing the grave of its goal;
Come then, O come fruition, Come to my sad weary heart,
Come, O Thou Blest hope of glory, Never, O never depart. REFRAIN

REFRAIN: Whispering hope, O how welcome Thy voice,
Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice.

TODAY’S BLESSING:
“May God bless us and help us to be aware of those around us whose loads are too heavy to bear alone.
Praise God! Praise His Name!
