Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 (KJV)

Dear LORD,

In the face of death, you had me on your mind. Instead of worrying about the horrors that were about to take place and the suffering you were about to experience, you were kind-hearted and loving. You offered me peace. The peace you offered was loving and unselfish. The kind of peace men and women offer each other is for selfish gain. But you wanted me to be reconciled to God the Father. I can stand in the presence of God because you have prepared the way for me. I have direct access to your kingdom. You are preparing a place for me, a permanent place—a wonderful place. My heart is anxious about many things, but you offer me peace. I accept. Help me to overcome my fears and turn them over to you.
In your Last Will and Testament you said “…my peace I give unto you…”
Thank you.
In Jesus’ name,

Philippians 2:14-15
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.

Peggy kept looking at her daughter's trick-or-treat bag. Her daughter had made a grand haul of chocolates and sugary candies. It was all Peg could do to keep her hands off it. A little devil inside kept telling her that her daughter wouldn't miss a few pieces. Peggy wanted to dive in so badly it hurt. She walked over to the bag and looked in. On its own, her hand moved toward the sweets. She was about to grab a handful when a still small voice stopped her. What had she been trying to teach her daughter about honesty and respecting things that weren't hers? Now she was attempting to pilfer her daughter's trick-or-treat bag because she wanted candy. When would she ever learn some strength and self-restraint?

Today's thought: I will avoid things that make me less of a person, but more of a body!

Wow it is november already i have many goals for this month

1. Let’s look at Jesus’ Right Credentials (John 10”6-10).
A. In Vs 6-8, Jesus reveals HIS PERSONALITY.
1. In Vs 7 Jesus said, “I am the door of the sheep”.
2. Nothing could enter the fold or exit the fold except through the Door.
3. The shepherd was the door.
B. To enter the kingdom of God, there is but one door.
1. The Door to the kingdom of God is Jesus (John 14:6)
a. Jesus is the Way,
b. Jesus is the Truth,
c. Jesus is the Life,
d. No one comes unto the Father except by Him (Jesus).
2. Eph 2:18 tells us that “through Him (Jesus), we have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
3. Acts 4:12 tells us, “ neither is there salvation in any other”.
4. 1 John 5:12 tells us that, “He that has the Son has life, and he that has not the Son has not life”.
2. PICTURE THIS: This truth may seem “narrow minded”, but isn’t that what Jesus taught us in Matt 7:13-14, where he revealed that the way to life is through the strait gate and the narrow road, and few will find it. There are two ways and therefore two choices. But the direction and the rewards are totally different. We must enter through the narrow gate in order to reach the path that leads to eternal life. If we go the other way, the end is death and destruction. Have you entered through the RIGHT DOOR?

TODAY’S HYMN By S. F. Bennett & Joseph P. Webster (1868)
“ Sweet By and By”

1. There’s a land that fairer than day, And by faith we can see it afar;
For the Father waits over the way, To prepare us a dwelling place there. REFRAIN

2. We shall sing on that beautiful shore, The melodious sons of the blest;
And our spirits shall sorrow no more, Not a sigh for the blessing of rest. REFRAIN

3. To our bountiful Father above, we will offer our tribute of praise;
For the glorious gift of His love, And the blessings that hallow our days. REFRAIN

REFRAIN: In the sweet by and by, We shall meet on that beautiful shore;
In the sweet by and by, We shall meet on that beautiful shore.

May God Bless us and help us to hear His calling us to be one of His Saints.

Happy Halloween to all my spark friends. I have memories of dressing up and going trick or treating .

“Jesus, the Good Shepherd”

1. What make the shepherd’s call proper? (John 10:1-3).
A. While there may be several flocks in the sheepfold, the sheep will answer only to their Master because they recognize His voice.
B. We are given 3 clues in Vs 3:
1. They hear His voice.
2. He calls to them by name.
3. He leads them out.
C. So it is with our soul!
2. PICTURE THIS: Many voices (religions) compete for our attention in the world, but there is a special note to the voice of our Shepherd , Jesus Christ. When He calls us, we will respond to His voice because we recognize and know His voice. When He calls, everything changes for us (John 6:44). Lost sinners are added daily to the herd (the Church) by the Lord, such as should be saved (Acts 2:47). The voice of the GOOD SHEPHERD is the only one that can awaken a dead heart (Eph 2:1). Others will call but their sound is empty and deceiving. Jesus is calling! Are you hearing Him? Do you recognize His voice?
His voice is recorded in the scripture! Whom will you be following when He calls your name to lead you to glory?

TODAY’S HYMN By Gloria Gaither & William J. Gaither (1974)
“Gentle Shepherd”

Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, For we need You to help us find our way.
Gentle Shepherd, come and feed us, For we need Your strength from day to day.
There’s no other we can turn to, Who can help us face another day;
Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, For we need You to help us find the our way.

Show me Thy ways, O LORD ; teach me Thy paths. Lead me in Thy truth, and teach me: for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all day. Psalm 24:4-5 {KJVB}

Psalm 37:39
But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

Bob had a terrible dream. Food kept coming at him from every direction. Wherever it touched him, it stuck to him. Before long he couldn't move. He had trouble breathing. He had trouble seeing. He was hot and slimy. He kept trying to reach out for help, but no help came. He was buried under a mountain of food. As he lay awake thinking of the dream, he realized that it wasn't far from the truth. He was buried by a mountain of food become flesh. He did have trouble breathing and moving. It wasn't worth it. Silently, he reached out for help in a meek and humble prayer. God, the Source of salvation, reached back.

Today's thought: God, save me from an appetite seldom satisfied!

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

Who is this King of glory? Then LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Life up your heads, O ye gates; even life them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is Kingof glory. Selah. Psalm 24 8-10 {KJVB}

Well Steen is home from the hospital since yesterday (friday) and this time to stay because enough is enough. I am getting home care to come in and help me an hour in the morning to start and then more later as he needs help 24/7 with everything. My mom who is in a care home and in the final stages of alziemers is not doing good. Sleeping all the time and refusing to eat or drink or take her medications. I will be going to see her as much as I can. She may be ok again suddenly for a while but I believe the Lord is getting ready to take her home. I am now at 139.4 lbs so i have made it into the 130's. I was at 142 the 141 for a long time then i just jumped to 139.4. I am aiming for 135 and with spark i have no doubt i will do it, Thank you Jesus and thank you spark friends.

I can talk about fitness and making healthy choices,
because I am getting fit and drinking plenty of water
and getting good sleep in;
and tracking good calories and foods:
eating salad veg and fruit;
studying and choosing on the new healthy things I've learned.
I can encourage people around me because this is me that it's happening to.
I'm leaving behind the struggling inconfident, morbidly obese, inactive person that had given up on feeling healthy and getting active.
Now it's easier to do 30 minutes walk, swim, clean, and dance.
It's easier to drink loads of lovely water,
and it's easier to share with you and talk,
because I know some of what your going through and experiencing like me.
Life change takes determination and effort: pressing through on difficult days; not giving in on bad days, but getting back up and going in the right direction.
TY all, love you all so much for being here. Keep going! you're all amazing.

May God bless us and help us daily to be someone He can count on to show mercy and compassion to one another!

A. What credentials did Jesus have to prove He was The GOOD SHEPHERD and that He came into the world in the right manner.
1. He had been virgin born (Isa 7:14; Matt 1:21-23).
2. He had been born in Bethlehem ( Micah 5:2; Matt 2:4-6).
3. He had come in the fullness of time (Gen 49:10; Gal 4:4).
4. He had been brought out of Egypt (Hos11:1; Matt 2:14-15).
5. His arrival had provoked the rage of the enemy (Jer 31:15; Matt 2:16-18).
B. Jesus uses the imagery of the “sheepfold” to illustrate His message.
1. A “sheepfold” was a circular wall, about 10 feet tall, with a single opening that served as a door.
2. Several flocks might be placed into the sheepfold at night, with one shepherd placed in the opening to serve as a door.
3. Nothing could get in or out without having to go through the shepherd.
4. Jesus is telling his audience that thieves and robbers enter the sheepfold by another means besides the door, but the SHEPHERD always comes in the right way….through the door.
5. The sheep also comes in and out through the door.
2. PICTURE THIS: CATTLE ARE DRIVEN, BUT SHEEP ARE LED! Jesus was GOD during His earthly life and ministry. His dependence and relationship upon the power of the Holy Spirit was evident in his humiliation in the incarnation and in the crucifixion. Still, He possessed all the credentials to prove He was THE GOOD SHEPHERD (Luke 4:18-19). John the Baptist revealed Jesus in John 1:29, “Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world”. The Lamb of God was used for sacrifice in the Passover. What credentials have you as a Christians? Are you in the fold of His sheep? Have you entered through the right door?

TODAY’S HYMN By Dorothy Thrupp (1836) and William B. Bradbury (1859)
“Savior, Like A Shepherd Lead Us”

1. Savior, like a shepherd lead us : Much we need Thy tenderest care;
In Thy pleasant pasture feed us, For our use Thy fold prepare;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us Thine we are;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us Thine we are.

2. We are Thine; do Thou befriend us, Be the Guardian of our way;
Keep thy flock, from sin defend us, Seek us when we go astray;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, Hear, O hear us when we pray;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, Hear, O hear us when we pray.

3. Thou has promised to receive us, Poor and sinful tho we be;
Thou has mercy to relieve us, Grace to cleanse, and power to free;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, Early let us come to Thee;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, Early let us come to Thee.

4. Early let us seek Thy favor, Early let us do Thy will;
Blessed Lord and only Savior, With Thy love our bosoms fill;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still.

For the kingdom is the LORD'S and He is the Governor among the nations. Psalm 22:28 {KJVB}

Most Holy Father! What a wondrous God You are to love us and to show us how to love one another. Enable us to have no unfinished business when we approach Your throne of grace. Let Your word fill us with Your goodness and bring us ultimate joy. Help us to love family, friends, co-workers, fellow Christians, neighbors, strangers and even our enemy. As You have loved us, let us also love in the same way and with the same measure. May we love and live our lives in such a way that we will be fruitful and bring glory and honor and praise to You our God. This we pray and ask in Jesus' glorious name, Amen!

May God bless us and help us to bring all our doubts to Him, so He can renew our faith in return and help us grow in our love.

Dear LORD,

we're not feeling very “holy” this morning and we're glad that our feelings have nothing to do with Your faithfulness. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Please do a work in us that goes beyond our feelings. Make us whole again and help us to be without blame in Your eyes. You alone can make this happen. Heal our heart and protect us in the decisions that we must make. Protect the relationships that are in our life. Hold us up because we need Your strength. Help us not to cave in to destructive thinking or behaviors. No matter what comes our way, life goes on and we pray that You will help us to live a life that is abundant in Your mercies and grace. Give us wisdom for today. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

Ye that fear the LORD, praise Him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him, all ye the seed of Israel. Psalm 22:23 {KJVB}

Hebrews 12:12
Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees.

Monica hated evenings that she had to spend alone. When she was with friends, she felt so much stronger. She put forth all her energy to have a good time when she went out. On the nights she stayed home, however, she just didn't have the strength to put on a happy front. Dieting was so much more difficult without help from friends. It is good to know that God is ever with us. On those occasions when there is no one around to help us, we can turn to God for strength and endurance. He helps us pick ourselves up and con-tinue on our way. He strengthens feeble knees and lifts hands that hang down.

Today's thought: My energy comes from a source other than food!

1. We now move into Room #10 in John’s Gallery, and the center portrait depicts JESUS, THE GOOD SHEPHERD (John 10:1-16).
A. Two men, who were friends, we called to recite the Twenty-third Psalm.
1. The first man was a published orator, trained in speech and drama.
a. He spoke the psalm in a powerful way.
b. When he finished, the audience cheered him and wanted to hear his voice again.
2. The other man, who was much older, spoke the Psalm also.
a. When he finished no sound came from the audience.
b. People sat quietly in a deep mood of devotion and prayer.
3. The first man stood up and spoke, “The difference between what you have just heard from my old friend and me is: “I know the Psalm; My friend knows THE SHEPHERD”.
B. Of all the portraits John paints in his wonderful gospel, the most descriptive image of Jesus is that of THE GOOD SHEPHERD.
2. PICTURE THIS: In the near East, several flocks of sheep may be pasturing in one field at any given time. Only a shepherd’s own sheep know the shepherd’s voice and will follow him out of that fold. Cattle can be driven , but sheep are led. Jesus reveals in this chapter, His love for sinners and His plan for dealing with sin. The question is: Do I really know the GOOD SHEPHERD?

TODAY’S HYMN: By Dennis L. Jernigan (1988)

1. I am a sheep and the Lord is my Shepherd, Watching over my soul!
My soul to keep guarding over me ever, Watching wherever I go! REFRAIN

2. We are His children and He is our Father, Watching over our soul!
Great is His love for His sons and his daughters, Watching wherever we go. REFRAIN

REFRAIN: And when the winds blow, He is my shelter!
And when I’m lost and alone, He rescue me!
And when the Lion comes, He is my victory!
Constantly watching over me!
He is constantly watching over me!

May God bless us and help us to know where He needs us, and has already counted us in, for the work ahead.

    Thank you for this message and devotion. So often we look to people for affirmation and approval instead of God, I know sometimes I feel lonely by myself
but I'm not really alone when God is there all the time. And like the song says He is watching over me.
