SPREAD THE SARK OF ENCOURAGEMENT TODAY!

TODAY'S PRAYER, By MIDORITHOMAS
"Dear LORD,

There is no one like you, never has been, and never will be. You are the God of heaven, Creator of all the earth. We are thankful that you never get tired or weak. Sometimes we work really hard to please you, but itís not our hard work or the pride in which we accomplish a thing that pleases you. You are interested in a heart that is humble before you. You give us strength when we need it. You are pleased with a humble heart. Help us to turn away from the things that break your heart. Give us courage to do the things that are required of us, and help us to be mindful of whom we are in Christ. Take our broken heart and make us like new. Help us to honor you in all that we do.

Walk with us today and rule in our heart. Let us sense your presence as we go about the things that are required of us and strengthen us. Help us to be mindful of the needs of others so that we will support them in prayer and allow you to lead us.

In Jesusí name we pray, AMEN!"

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT By DIDMIS
James 4:7
Sumbit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

"Grace was surprised. The hostess had offered her dessert and she had declined without even the slightest pang of remorse. Dessert had always been Grace's favorite type of food. Giving up dessert had been the worst part of her diet. Now, though, she found that she had declined without really caring. What a breakthrough! She felt she had a fighting chance. She had resisted temptation so long that it wasn't tempting any longer. Grace felt stronger than at any other point in her diet. Thank God. She was going to make it, after all!

Today's thought: The more I turn down, the more my weight goes down!"

TODAY'S PSALM SCRIPTURE by RSSSLHB
"He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 15:2 {KJVB".

TODAY'S HYMN By Helen H. Lemmel (1922)

"TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS"

1. O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see?
There's light for a look at the Savior, And Life more abundant and free. REFRAIN.
2. Thru death into life everlasting, He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion, For more than conq'rors we are! REFRAIN.
3. His word shall not fail you, He promised; Believe Him, and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!
REFRAIN.

REFRAIN: Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace.

TODAY'S PSALM By RSSSLHB
But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Thy salvation. Psalm 13:5 { KJVB}

TODAY'S READING By PASTORMIKE7
THE JUDGEMENT OF GOD
Scripture Reading: Romans 2:1-6

In our Scripture passage under consideration this day, Paul is not overlooking the great doctrine of salvation by grace as found in Ephesians. He is, however, stressing that believers ought to act like believers-that every person, believer and unbeliever, Jew and Gentile-is going to have to give an account of himself or herself before God. Godís judgment is a subject that certainly is not exhausted in our text, for obviously only certain facets of the whole truth are brought to light here. Among these facets are the following: (READ MORE)

TODAY'S HYMN: Prepare To Meet Thy God
By J H Stanley
1. Careless soul, why will you linger, Wand'ring from the fold of God?
Hear ye not the invitation? O prepare to meet thy God. CHORUS
2. Why so tho'tless are you standing, While the fleeting years go by;
And your life is spent in folly? O prepare to meet thy God. CHORUS
3. If you spurn the invitation Till the Spirit shall depart,
Then you'll see your sad condition, Unprepared to meet thy God. CHORUS
CHORUS: Careless soul...O heed the warning...., For your life will soon be gone;
.......O how sad..... to face the judgment....Unprepared......To meet thy God.

TODAY'S MESSAGE: By MJRVIC2000
JESUS, THE SYMPATHETIC SAVIOR!
1. John has shown us thusfar about the sinful woman: HER SIN AND HER SHAME.
2. Now, John is going to show us HER SENTENCE (John 8:5).
a. The quote: "Now Moses in the law commanded us":
1. Her accusers were absolutely correct (Lev 20:10; and Deu 22:22-24).
2. The law said she deserved to die for that sin.
3. There was one small problem here: Where was her partner?
4. The law said both shall die for that sin (Lev 20:10).
b. God's Law is judgment; and the sentence for adultery is death.
1. What is death? Death is eternal separation from God!
a. In the first death, the soul and the spirit are separated from the body.
b. In the second death, the spirit is is separated from the soul.
c. The spirit returns to God and the soul is sent to hell.
d. Christians will not have to face the second death.
2. Nobody get away with sin!
a. Rom 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".
b. A day of sentencing is coming for all who sin and who are not in Christ Jesus our Lord.
3. PICTURE THIS: In an effort to humiliate the woman and discredit the Lord, they brought the woman to the best possible place and person.....JESUS! They brought her to the very man that knew her sin, her past, and her problem, and could make it all right. We are like this woman when we live in sin. We have the same sentence of death unless we come to Christ Jesus, believing and obeying. Jesus is the sinner's best FRIEND! He isn't concerned about His reputation ; he is concerned about your eternal soul. Are you prepared to meet your God?

TODAY'S PRAYER: By MJRVIC2000
"Most Holy Father, Redeeming God! Are we pointing people to Jesus when the judgment and sentencing of God demand death for sins? We parise You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, in whom we have mercy and forgiveness of sins. For in Him we find mercy instead of justice as demanded by the law. In him we find Life instead of Death as demanded by the law. Let's all look to Jesus, BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY OUR SINS. Help us to show our appreciation for the gift of Jesus and eternal life by living a life that brings praise, glory and honor to You. Grant us the right words and boldness to point others to Jesus. And Father, we thank You! In Jesus' precious name we pray, Amen!"

TODAY'S BLESSING:
When everything seems to be more of the same, surprise us with Your blessings of amazing grace with each sunrise that You offer us.

Once again, we thank each of you for your responses and input to this blog.
IN HIS GRACE, The God's Family Team.

TODAY'S DAILY REQUEST: By DIANESLONE
Today marks the beginning of my second week back on the SparkPeople website. 2011 has been a dificult year for me..............my beloved father passed away after a short battle with brain cancer, my daughter had a miscarriage and I have struggled with my health all year. I tried to work with a friend everyday and that hasn't ended well. I'm now switching to being a home based travel agent so I will need to find a way to advertise myself. My life is completely in an uproar so prayers are greatly appreciatted. SparkPeople friends are so encouraging so I knew this was the place for me to come back to so I can work on getting myself back together.

TODAY'S DAILY DEVO: By DIDMIS
1 Peter 3:13
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

Kim's mother felt so sorry for her. She remembered what it was like to be overweight. All the other children were so cruel. She could still feel the sting of all the nicknames people had put on her. Now, Kim was suffering the same indignities. Her mother hoped she could get Kim on a diet, if for no other reason than to keep Kim's classmates from taunting her so mercilessly. Just taking steps to correct the problem made it easier to take. The insults didn't hurt so much after the problem was taken care of. Together, they would lose the weight. With God's help, time would heal the wounds of unkind words.

Today's thought: I will put all my excess weight behind me!

TODAY'S DAILY READING: By PASTORMIKE 7, "CLIMB THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN"

Scripture Reading: 1 John 2:12-14

In the lives of our young people we have the hope of our tomorrows. Youth is that which spells out hope, strength and zeal for the future. In Johnís first letter he expresses so beautifully the faith that he has in youth: ďI have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked oneĒ (1 John 2:14).
John wrote to the young men of his day because: (READ MORE).

TODAY'S DAILY PSALM: By RSSSLHB
THe LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men. Psalm 11:4 {KJVB}

TODAY'S DAILY MESSAGE: JESUS, THE SYMPATHETIC SAVIOR, By MJRVIC2000
1. Yesterday John show us HER SIN: TODAY HE SHOW US HER SHAME!
a. The woman was certainly humiliated by the public accusation and disclosure of her sin (John 8:4).
b. Normally, she would not have been brought before Jesus.
c. The Pharisees and scribes were seeking to trick Jesus to see if He would:
1. Uphold the Jewish law, or
2. Defend the sinner.
d. Sin is a shameful thing, and no matter how skillfully it is hidden from men's eyes, Jesus knows all about it (Luke 12:3).
e. Saddest of all, the TRUTH of OUR PROFESSION will be made public one day (Matt 7:21-23).
f. There is a day of judgment and full disclosure coming and we need to get everything RIGHT with God NOW!
2. PICTURE THIS: In Joshua 2: 1-21, RAHAB, a harlot of Jericho, gave aid and hid the spies from the king, and sought to be saved for she had heard what the Lord had done, is listed in Heb 11:31 as one of faith, and in Matt 1:5 as in the lineage of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. There is HOPE for everyone of us. But have you made your life right with God?

TODAY'S DAILY BLESSING: "May God help us to appreciate all the heavenly host who are always with us as we go about our daily routine of serving the God of Hope.

IN HIS HOPE, THE GOD'S FAMILY TEAM!

OUR DAILY NREMINDER: (By SPARKEDFRIEND). October is pastor apprecation month. I would like to say THANKS!

OUR DAILY PSALM: (By RSSSLHB).
The LORD looked down from heaven unon the chilred of men, to see if there were any that did understand and seek God. Psalm 14:2 { KJVB .

OUR DAILY PRAYER TODAY IS FOR MIDORITHOMAS AND FAMILY!
My dear, sweet mama passed away on Thursday, October 6. I never dreamed the end could be so difficult. There was not a day that we did not hope or pray for God's healing. I did not know that dying would be such hard work. However, we were committed to our faith in Christ, and we committed to trusting in Him. I'm trying not to get hung up on the "Why" questions, but the questions are there just the same.

I'm having a little motivation challenge right now--feeling totally unenthusiastic about most everything.

I'm picking up mom and dad's ashes tomorrow and delivering them to their final resting place. It is not something I would have chosen and the expectation came to me as something of a surprise. I don't know if this will bring the closure I need, but I am glad that this season has come to an end. There are many details that need attending. One of those details is the setting of some new goals and looking for something that brings delight.

If you've climbed out of the darkness and made some great discoveries lately, please share them with me. I know I need to start, but I'm honestly not sure I'm ready to try.

Let's all read Psalm 23 today, and pray on behalf of MIDORITHOMAS!

OUR DAILY DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: (By DIDMIS) !
James 5:13
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

Bill kept telling June to ask God for help. June couldn't quite bring herself to do it. Prayer was for weaklings. Only people who couldn't handle life prayed. June would rather struggle by on her own than rely on a crutch. False pride is a sad affliction. People who feel that they are strong enough to handle every situation of life only fool themselves. Everyone is weak at some point in her life. The truly strong person is the one who acknowledges her weakness and has the wisdom to turn to God for help.

Today's thought: More time in prayer means less time to eat!

Have a bleesed day, from God's Family Team.

A DAILY SPIRITUAL OASIS (10/10/2011) PART1!

OUR DAILY READING: (By PASTORMIKE7) "A STERN SCOOLHMASTER" Scripture Reading: Ps. 119:65-72

Life is not always a bed of roses; in fact, it seldom is. But life has a way of molding us into creatures who are either spiritually mellow and golden, or else hardened and bitter. I like to think that life is a schoolmaster that brings out the best in people, especially Christians.

OUR MESSAGE TODAY: JESUS, THE SYMPATHETIC SAVIOR (By MJRVIC2000)
1. As we look at the portrait John has painted for us in John 8:1-11, we see a painting of a Sympathetic Savior.
a. Jesus is not one who is soft on sin.
b. Jesus is one who loves sinners and reaches out to them in grace, forgiveness and love.
c. Are you ready to meet such a SYMPATHETIC SAVIOR?
2. PICTURE THIS: In John 8:3, a sinful woman is brought before Jesus.
a. She was caught in the very act of adultery.
b. She was guilty before the face of the Lord.
c. She was guilty even by the world's standard.
d. Adultery is and will always be a vile sin. because it breaks the law of faithfulness.
e. James 2:10 teaches us that if we keep the whole law and stumble in one point, we are guilty of breaking the whole law.
f. Rom 3:23 tells us that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
g. We are as guilty of sinning as the woman.
h. The problem is we won't admit it (Prov 28:13).
i. We might be able to hide our sin from some people for a time, but we won't be able to hide it from God.
3. What is sin doing to your life?
a. Hide it and you will not prosper.
b. Confess it and turn from it and you will receive mercy from the Lord.
g. Gal 3:22 concludes that we are all under sin and the promise by faith in Jesus Christ is given to them that believe in Him.
OUR DAILY HYMN: "fATHER OF MERCIES" By Frederick w. Faber (1849).
1. Father of mercies, day by day, My love to Thee grows more and more;
Thy gifts are strewn upon my way, Like sand upon the great seashore,
Like sand upon the great seashore.
2. Father of mercies, God of love, Whose gentle gifts all creartures share;
The rolling seasons as they move, Proclaim to all Thy constant care,
Proclaim to all Thy constant care.
3. Father of mercies, may our hearts, Ne'er overlook Thy bountiful care;
But what our Father's hand impart, Still own in grateful praise and prayer,
Still own in grateful praise and prayer.
OUR DAILY BLESSING: "May God help us to keep watch with those who work, watch and weep for all who sin". IN HIS MERCY, The God's Family Team.
