SPREAD THE SPARK OF JOY TODAY!

TODAY'S PRAYER By MIDORITHIMAS
Dear LORD,

All of our life we have battled with fear. We have watched the crippling effects of fear in the lives of others, and we have allowed fear to prevent mus from receiving your blessings. It is not enough to say that we will not be afraid. It is up to us to walk out our faith. We confess our fear and we stretch our hand out so that you can grasp onto it with your firm grip. We choose to trust you and believe in you. Still we pray, “Help our unbelief.” Help us to overcome the urge to say “No” when we really want to say “Yes.” Likewise, help us to say “No” even when we are afraid to say “No.” Give us the courage to reach for goals that appear to be out of our grasp. Help us not to be afraid of those who are against us. The thing we fear is powerless if you are on my side—like a lion with no teeth. The toothless lion may roar, but his strength is in his intimidation. Help us to see through your eyes the strength that we have because you are our LORD.

Thank you for a new brave heart.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

TODAY'S PSALM By RSSSLHB
For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; His countenance doth behold the upright. Psalm 11:7 {KJVB}.

TODAY'S MESSAGE By MJRVIC2000
JESUS, THE SYMPATHETIC SAVIOR

1. Let's take a look now at THE SCHEMING CRITICS (John 8:3-9).
a. Their plan was to create a dilemma for Jesus to discredit Him.
1. If Jesus let's the woman go, then He would be seen as being easy on sin and could have been arrested for violation of the Law.
2. If He gave permission for the woman to be likked, then He would have been accused before Roman authority as a seditionist, and would destroy his reputation as being a "friend of publicans and sinners".
3. Their intent was to leave no room for Jesus to escape this dilemma.
b. Their plan would have worked with an ordinary man.
1. Jesus was not an ordinary man....HE WAS THE SON OF GOD!
2. Jesus doesn't play by man's rules...HE PLAYS BY GOD'S RULES.
3. In Vs 5, they wanted to quote the commandments of God to the finger that wrote it(Ex 32:16).
4. In Vs 6, they were ignored.
c. When Jesus did speak (Vs 7), THEY WERE EXPOSED.
1. "He who is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her".
2. There were some there that may never had committed adultery physically, but had in their head and in their heart.
3. The shouting stopped and the only sounds was the dropping of stones and the shuffles of feets as they quietly stole away.
2. PICTURE THIS: One of the most difficult things we ever have to do is to face ourself, to see ourself as sinful as we are, to see ourself as we realy are, and to be able to see ourself as we can be in Jesus Christ. Paul would have gone to hell had he not come face to face with himself on the road to Damascus (Acts 9), and changed his life. Are you ready to face yourself and see what you really are? Are you ready to change your life?

TODAY'S BLESSING By MJRVIC2000

    I liked this blog. Perfect love casts out fear: it really does!! A person always wonders how he or she would react when confronted with the same decision the "stoners" faced. Would they come face to face with themselves or would they keep up the facade of righteous indignation?

SPREAD THE SARK OF ENCOURAGEMENT TODAY!

TODAY'S PRAYER, By MIDORITHOMAS
"Dear LORD,

There is no one like you, never has been, and never will be. You are the God of heaven, Creator of all the earth. We are thankful that you never get tired or weak. Sometimes we work really hard to please you, but it’s not our hard work or the pride in which we accomplish a thing that pleases you. You are interested in a heart that is humble before you. You give us strength when we need it. You are pleased with a humble heart. Help us to turn away from the things that break your heart. Give us courage to do the things that are required of us, and help us to be mindful of whom we are in Christ. Take our broken heart and make us like new. Help us to honor you in all that we do.

Walk with us today and rule in our heart. Let us sense your presence as we go about the things that are required of us and strengthen us. Help us to be mindful of the needs of others so that we will support them in prayer and allow you to lead us.

In Jesus’ name we pray, AMEN!"

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT By DIDMIS
James 4:7
Sumbit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

"Grace was surprised. The hostess had offered her dessert and she had declined without even the slightest pang of remorse. Dessert had always been Grace's favorite type of food. Giving up dessert had been the worst part of her diet. Now, though, she found that she had declined without really caring. What a breakthrough! She felt she had a fighting chance. She had resisted temptation so long that it wasn't tempting any longer. Grace felt stronger than at any other point in her diet. Thank God. She was going to make it, after all!

Today's thought: The more I turn down, the more my weight goes down!"

TODAY'S HYMN By Helen H. Lemmel (1922)

"TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS"

1. O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see?
There's light for a look at the Savior, And Life more abundant and free. REFRAIN.
2. Thru death into life everlasting, He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion, For more than conq'rors we are! REFRAIN.
3. His word shall not fail you, He promised; Believe Him, and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!
REFRAIN.

REFRAIN: Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace.

TODAY'S PSALM By RSSSLHB
But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Thy salvation. Psalm 13:5 { KJVB}

TODAY'S READING By PASTORMIKE7
THE JUDGEMENT OF GOD
Scripture Reading: Romans 2:1-6

In our Scripture passage under consideration this day, Paul is not overlooking the great doctrine of salvation by grace as found in Ephesians. He is, however, stressing that believers ought to act like believers-that every person, believer and unbeliever, Jew and Gentile-is going to have to give an account of himself or herself before God. God’s judgment is a subject that certainly is not exhausted in our text, for obviously only certain facets of the whole truth are brought to light here. Among these facets are the following: (READ MORE)

TODAY'S HYMN: Prepare To Meet Thy God
By J H Stanley
1. Careless soul, why will you linger, Wand'ring from the fold of God?
Hear ye not the invitation? O prepare to meet thy God. CHORUS
2. Why so tho'tless are you standing, While the fleeting years go by;
And your life is spent in folly? O prepare to meet thy God. CHORUS
3. If you spurn the invitation Till the Spirit shall depart,
Then you'll see your sad condition, Unprepared to meet thy God. CHORUS
CHORUS: Careless soul...O heed the warning...., For your life will soon be gone;
.......O how sad..... to face the judgment....Unprepared......To meet thy God.

TODAY'S MESSAGE: By MJRVIC2000
JESUS, THE SYMPATHETIC SAVIOR!
1. John has shown us thusfar about the sinful woman: HER SIN AND HER SHAME.
2. Now, John is going to show us HER SENTENCE (John 8:5).
a. The quote: "Now Moses in the law commanded us":
1. Her accusers were absolutely correct (Lev 20:10; and Deu 22:22-24).
2. The law said she deserved to die for that sin.
3. There was one small problem here: Where was her partner?
4. The law said both shall die for that sin (Lev 20:10).
b. God's Law is judgment; and the sentence for adultery is death.
1. What is death? Death is eternal separation from God!
a. In the first death, the soul and the spirit are separated from the body.
b. In the second death, the spirit is is separated from the soul.
c. The spirit returns to God and the soul is sent to hell.
d. Christians will not have to face the second death.
2. Nobody get away with sin!
a. Rom 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".
b. A day of sentencing is coming for all who sin and who are not in Christ Jesus our Lord.
3. PICTURE THIS: In an effort to humiliate the woman and discredit the Lord, they brought the woman to the best possible place and person.....JESUS! They brought her to the very man that knew her sin, her past, and her problem, and could make it all right. We are like this woman when we live in sin. We have the same sentence of death unless we come to Christ Jesus, believing and obeying. Jesus is the sinner's best FRIEND! He isn't concerned about His reputation ; he is concerned about your eternal soul. Are you prepared to meet your God?

TODAY'S PRAYER: By MJRVIC2000
"Most Holy Father, Redeeming God! Are we pointing people to Jesus when the judgment and sentencing of God demand death for sins? We parise You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, in whom we have mercy and forgiveness of sins. For in Him we find mercy instead of justice as demanded by the law. In him we find Life instead of Death as demanded by the law. Let's all look to Jesus, BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY OUR SINS. Help us to show our appreciation for the gift of Jesus and eternal life by living a life that brings praise, glory and honor to You. Grant us the right words and boldness to point others to Jesus. And Father, we thank You! In Jesus' precious name we pray, Amen!"

TODAY'S BLESSING:
When everything seems to be more of the same, surprise us with Your blessings of amazing grace with each sunrise that You offer us.

Once again, we thank each of you for your responses and input to this blog.
IN HIS GRACE, The God's Family Team.

SPREAD THE SPARK OF HOPE TO EVERYONE!

TODAY'S DAILY REQUEST: By DIANESLONE
Today marks the beginning of my second week back on the SparkPeople website. 2011 has been a dificult year for me..............my beloved father passed away after a short battle with brain cancer, my daughter had a miscarriage and I have struggled with my health all year. I tried to work with a friend everyday and that hasn't ended well. I'm now switching to being a home based travel agent so I will need to find a way to advertise myself. My life is completely in an uproar so prayers are greatly appreciatted. SparkPeople friends are so encouraging so I knew this was the place for me to come back to so I can work on getting myself back together.

TODAY'S DAILY DEVO: By DIDMIS
1 Peter 3:13
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

Kim's mother felt so sorry for her. She remembered what it was like to be overweight. All the other children were so cruel. She could still feel the sting of all the nicknames people had put on her. Now, Kim was suffering the same indignities. Her mother hoped she could get Kim on a diet, if for no other reason than to keep Kim's classmates from taunting her so mercilessly. Just taking steps to correct the problem made it easier to take. The insults didn't hurt so much after the problem was taken care of. Together, they would lose the weight. With God's help, time would heal the wounds of unkind words.

Today's thought: I will put all my excess weight behind me!

TODAY'S DAILY READING: By PASTORMIKE 7, "CLIMB THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN"

Scripture Reading: 1 John 2:12-14

In the lives of our young people we have the hope of our tomorrows. Youth is that which spells out hope, strength and zeal for the future. In John’s first letter he expresses so beautifully the faith that he has in youth: “I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one” (1 John 2:14).
John wrote to the young men of his day because: (READ MORE).

TODAY'S DAILY PSALM: By RSSSLHB
THe LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men. Psalm 11:4 {KJVB}

TODAY'S DAILY MESSAGE: JESUS, THE SYMPATHETIC SAVIOR, By MJRVIC2000
1. Yesterday John show us HER SIN: TODAY HE SHOW US HER SHAME!
a. The woman was certainly humiliated by the public accusation and disclosure of her sin (John 8:4).
b. Normally, she would not have been brought before Jesus.
c. The Pharisees and scribes were seeking to trick Jesus to see if He would:
1. Uphold the Jewish law, or
2. Defend the sinner.
d. Sin is a shameful thing, and no matter how skillfully it is hidden from men's eyes, Jesus knows all about it (Luke 12:3).
e. Saddest of all, the TRUTH of OUR PROFESSION will be made public one day (Matt 7:21-23).
f. There is a day of judgment and full disclosure coming and we need to get everything RIGHT with God NOW!
2. PICTURE THIS: In Joshua 2: 1-21, RAHAB, a harlot of Jericho, gave aid and hid the spies from the king, and sought to be saved for she had heard what the Lord had done, is listed in Heb 11:31 as one of faith, and in Matt 1:5 as in the lineage of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. There is HOPE for everyone of us. But have you made your life right with God?

TODAY'S DAILY BLESSING: "May God help us to appreciate all the heavenly host who are always with us as we go about our daily routine of serving the God of Hope.

IN HIS HOPE, THE GOD'S FAMILY TEAM!
