I am finding determination again! I am so thankful for that. My son has been encouraging me to walk every day and even going with me if I didn't go before dark so I don't have to go out alone. What a wonderful guy! He's really trying to be an encouragement to me.

Tonight my oldest son walked with me. It was nice to have him along.

I am gaining that place of determination. It feels good. My weight is starting to come off more. The encouragement from my family is so great also!

That's wonderful that your son went on the walk with you. You'll gain a better relationship as you lose the pounds. It's a win/win situation! Keep up the good work.

Gardening, Walking, etc.

Monday, June 02, 2014

Today was a busy day, but it felt so good to be busy. We had to shop for a lawn mower and weed eater today. The shopping with my husband was nice, but I left my fit bit at home. emoticon I still got in lots of steps today without counting 3 hours of shopping steps.

We did some gardening and yard work this afternoon. It feels good to get some things accomplished that have been lagging behind.

I also did about a 20 minute walk tonight. I was sooooo tired, but I walked anyway. I'm glad. More of the same tomorrow!

Even though your fitbit didn't get to count your steps, you still did them!

I did that a while ago, I walked it seemed for miles and when I checked my pedometer
I realized I had left it on my kitchen table,so I have no idea how many steps I had racked up that day.. I bet you did 10,000 today...

I can do it!

Sunday, June 01, 2014

I was just watching the "You can do it!" video, plus reading some articles. One of them talked about successful spark people blog, so I am going to be more careful to blog. The other thing is to get involved in Teams, and forums. We'll see. I feel pretty determined.

Today I drank a small portion of a diet pop. I am trying to quit drinking pop.

I recently got a fitbit zip. I love it. I am a pretty competitive person and so it is helping me to challenge myself. That is really good. I have some chronic illness issues, one being fatigue, and I have a hard time getting up and getting going. The fitbit is helping.

So far the scale isn't doing much. I got discouraged about that and I didn't watch as carefully today. I made myself track everything so I have a good idea the calories I ate. It's time to get more serious about watching my food intake so I don't waste all this exercise! :)

I know it's hard to find that balance of calories in, calories out. When you exercise, you might want more food. It tastes better, and seems healthier. Good luck with that struggle. Glenn

Bountiful Baskets

Monday, January 09, 2012

Hey, I don't know if anyone out there is interested, but have you heard of Bountiful Baskets? It's a fruit and veggie co-op. Their website is Bountifulbaskets.org. Click on locations and see if they are in your area. If they aren't, you can start an area! It's a great deal. I went once to Denver from Cheyenne to see how it worked and if I wanted to start a co-op here in Cheyenne. It didn't seem like the produce was good for the amount I paid. Now there is a group in Laramie, and I have been going there. It has been really good, and the best thing is someone is trying to get one started here in Cheyenne! Hooray. Try it, you'll love it!

Food co-ops sound great! Thanks for sharing. I will try oranges in water. Thanks for the idea!

Many years ago, I belonged to a fruit and veggie co-op when I lived in RI. Nowadays, I get a fair amount from our local food bank.
