Holy busy week/weekend. I am on day 23 (25 if you count load days) and have lost 16lbs, 4 inches off my waist and reduced my waist to hip ratio by 8%. My body is exhausted. Not sure if it is just stress or what but I have decided to stop taking the hcg (although it will still be a few days before it is out of my system) and move onto P3 (No sugar, No starch, normal calorie intake) for the next three weeks. After that I will go into maintenance. I might do another round at some point but I want to see how stabilizing goes first. I am eager to start exercising again too so we will see what happens...

    Good luck with P3!! Let me know if you need any help with anything.. P3 is a breeze! After doing P2 you think you are eating way to much, be sure not to eat to little or you will start to gain..

    It is definitely not intended for long term use and I highly doubt most people would be willing to put in the effort to follow the protocol but it works and I feel great!

With No sugar/No starch I still have lots of great things to eat that will be mostly protein, low GI fruit and veggies. Things I am most looking forward to.... avocado, cheese, bacon, coconut oil, creamer, eggs, melons, salads (was only allowed one type of veggie per meal on P2). I am pretty sure the next three weeks will be a breeze and then I will start adding health carbs back into my diet (hummus, sweet potatoes and I will never forget about tortilla chips!!!)

P3 is all about keeping your weight steady and letting your body rest. emoticon

    I am glad you are done with this. I can't believe it can be healthy (or even work on a long-term basis); if it did, EVERYONE would be on it! I can totally believe that your body is exhausted.

I'm a lot older than you so I lose weight much more slowly, but it would take me about 3 months to lose 16 pounds by reducing calories and exercising. So for that alone, if you can keep the weight off, it might have been worth it! What will you be eating if no sugar/starch? Protein and veggies?

I guess I'm just at the age where I've been on a zillion diets and I just am not willing to do anything that I can't keep up forever. Some women I know are on a program where they do cleanses and protein shakes and take a bunch of other supplements, but I enjoy eating FOOD and don't want to pay $300/month for nonfood!

VLCD Days 16&17 - good/bad

The past few days have been exhausting full of ups and downs. My boobs were KILLING me yesterday so I think I am ovulating which would explain the cravings that I had today. I did cheat for the first time too, but (in my opinion) it wasn't THAT bad. At dinner tonight I wasn't prepared and ended up eating a veggie patty, piece of cheese and a few flax seed tortilla chips. Err. O well, I know I am still at or under the 500 calorie mark. I need to get some more food prepared so that doesn't not happen again! Not sure what effect this is going to have on my losses but time will tell. Yesterday I dropped 1.4 and dropped .6 today. I am hoping that I won't see a gain in the morning.

I have been so tired the past couple of days, falling asleep by ten like clockwork. This is rare for me. I must be fighting the sickness floating around or maybe I am just getting a better sleep/wake cycle in place. Either way, I am enjoying the extra rest while my body/mind are wanting/needing it.

Alright, well... I lost a pound the day after doing the apple day and then gained it right back this morning. Weird. I have no idea why I am stalled (STILL) or how long this will last but I am feeling fine so I am just going to keep going. I heard somewhere that is can take up to 4 weeks for your body to get used to a new way of operating. We will see! Things are super busy this week and I hope I can make it through still standing, lol!

Woke up with another day of no movement on the scale so today I did the stall breaking "apple day" so we will see what happens in the morning!

On another note, I am losing inches! This makes the fact that the scale is not moving much easier. Since being on the diet I have also not had to take my acid reflex medication plus I have not gotten sick (with a sick toddler and others around). It is great to see all of the changes happening in my body. I am also falling asleep better, staying asleep longer and don't (always) feel the need for a nap during the day. On top of all of this I am really learning about how much sugar I really ate on a daily basis. Wow. No wonder I detoxed so bad the first week.

Well, hopefully my stall will be broken after today but if not I will just keep plugging along!
