OK...so it was the cardio video today...I'm pretty sure it will be a while longer before I can do everything in this video. Arthritis in my knees does not like the up and down on the floor stuff.

I liked the core work today...awesome!

for my 30 minutes I did Leslie Sansone 2 miles of Intervals. There are 3 segments where the speed is bumped up into a 90 second jog. I really really like this walk! it's AWESOME!! I checked it out from the library, so I guess I better check ebay for a copy =)

Better late than never...LOL

I was having a rough day today, so my workout almost didn't happen. But I sucked it up, warmed up and did today's video. It was a good one and I look forward to doing it again when I am in a better mood and can put more into it.

Now I think I will go get on my bike for a little while.

I haven't successfully tracked food since I joined SparkPeople...I have tried a few times but I never got past breakfast. I have just been watching my portions and drinking my water. The water I HAVE been tracking.

Since being diagnosed diabetic a couple days ago I have been tracking my food and watching those bad carbs. and I have to say... O...M...G! this is HARD!!! Especially since alot of the food I have been using to keep the fat and calories down (mainly the FiberOne bars (♥) Special K meal bars and Weight Watchers frozen entrees) are HIGH carb. I have been trying really hard to get in more fruits and veggies. But still not getting enough.

So here is where I am having a problem. This week the fitness tracker has been yelling at me that I'm not getting enough calories for what I'm burning. Then add to it that I'm now having to watch the carb number too. For a long time I have been trying eat "low fat" because of my cholesterol (thankfully those numbers are alot closer to where they should be). And like I said I have only tracked my food for 2 full days so far. But on both of those days I have struggled to eat even up to the low end of the range, ended up UNDER even tho I was so full I couldn't bear to eat another bite. I have input an average number of calories I burn and guess what!! It raised my calorie intake!! OMG! I'm already sooooo full at the end of the day and not even getting to the low end...how in the world am I going to eat MORE!?!?

Right now I am at a loss as to how to get all the calories I need and keep it lower fat and lower carb. Since apparently I'm not getting enough calories.

GAH! I'm so frustrated and I just wanna curl up and cry. I know that I can do this, but right now my confidence is waning.

    my mom when she was first told she was a few years ago.. she was going nuts...and she was depressed...but she has found a happy place now..a lot of it is cause she drinks water more now..plus she lifts weights and walks...she is 56! her A1C test was 5.0 which is great for a diabetic... she does have to depend on insulin..yet before even with the insulin she was doing real bad....but with her watching her carbs and eating good ones she is doing way better...also since i have been on my "journey" she has to eat what i cook...lol! so it has helped her also! there is plenty of books for diabetic cooking...and let me stress she does have her days when she goes batty and eats something shes not suppose to...but i only let her have one thing...lol since i know what it feels like...to crave and go nuts...we try to get sugar free low carb stuff...and she found a soda she can drink that hits the spot and thats the diet dr. pepper...and flavor! those are little things here and there that has helped..blended grain breads and portion control if she ears white rice its half a cup and so on...she hates brown rice..lol but thats when i cook rice..just little adjustments that have helped her..if you have a question about a specific thing let me kno and i can ask her about it...

oh p.s. she just told me to check your blood before you eat and then check it 2 hours after you eat to figure out what foods you eat that cause your blood sugar to spike...and she says to do that for awhile so you can figure what foods to modify...and if it is high to take a 30 min walk and it will go back to normal...trust me i have seen that work..lol shes experimented for some time now..lol emoticon emoticon

    I know you must be sooo frustrated right now. My parents have hit this wall a few years ago and spent months trying to get a good combination going for them so I know how frustrating it can be. I use beachbody protein powders and have been using shakeology too. They allow you to get the proper nutrition without adding a ton of carbs to your diet. Also if you follow some of their recipes you can use milk and fruits, etc to make them higher calorie and low carb. You don't have to use any specific brand of protein powder, but try it and see if it works for you. There are so many different things to try I'll get a list of them for you if you want and send them to your inbox. Just don't give up! You're doing so great and we're all here to help you! emoticon

    Excellent post and questions... easy answers are just around the corner, but not know all your dietary needs, some of this advice might not work.

Tracking IS A PAIN - especially if you vary your diet alot. That is where using a consistant diet helps with copying from day to day.

Skim milk with protein powders can increase your caloric intake and is great for you. I recommend Braum's skim milk. Research it - best around and is all skim milk. Not skim with rest being water. The protein powder will increase your protein intake without increasing your carbs, etc. Of course you can add to it, fruit. Some folks add in spinach and alot of other veggies. I also add in egg whites with mine but I am a body builder.

I suppose your eating 6 mini meals throughout the day? Honestly, if you aren't starving, I wouldn't worry too much about the count deficit at first... your body will tell you when to eat!

    I'm in the same boat. I hope someone has good suggestions for this dilemma.

I've added more fruit and veggies, but sometimes I still don't hit the mark.

Don't get discouraged. Just keep trying to figure out the right combination.

I really like today's Bootcamp workout! I love doing leg work on the floor!

I did a 2 mile WATP, but split it up again. 1st mile...Bootcamp video...2nd mile
I really like doing the workout that way.
