A couple of updates

Thursday, April 11, 2013

Hubby's spine surgery on Feb 27 went very well. Two weeks after surgery, he had to go for physical therapy. He is healing very well. On Tues, Apr 9, 2013, Dr Roh, neuro surgeon, has given him medical clearance to go back to work on Mon, Apr 15, 2013. Praise the Lord!

My daughter just passed her Tae Kwon Do last Fri, Apr 5, 2013. She is now blue belt.

Our church is having the Annual Attic Treasure Sale from Apr 11 - 13. I volunteered to help in this event today and tomorrow.

Also, this evening was Fine Arts Night at my daughter's school. They have art display, art hunt, face painting, take home craft and book fair. We bought six books for her and one for her teacher.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day! emoticon

  What wonderful news all the way around. Your husband is very fortunate that his back healed so quickly. If he is like my husband, he is probably anxious to get back to work and into his normal routine.
Congratulations to your daughter..........she has moved along so quickly and must be very talented.
Have a great weekend.

A psalm of David
Confidence in God’s grace
THE LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the
days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the
LORD for ever.

    Yes, we are so fortunate. Such a wonderful "Heavenly Father" is our God.
Last fall our prayer group read/discussed 'A Shepard Looks At The 23rd Psalm' by Phillip Keller. You too might enjoy reading that book.

Peace be with you

Just want to share what I have just read in the bible.

Jesus appears to his disciples

John 20:19–20

19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.

Peace, Love & Joy To All

Quick Update

Monday, February 18, 2013

Just a quick update to my blog on the Preparation before spine surgery

Feb 18 2:30pm Rockford Memorial Hospital for Dobutamine Stress Ecoh test

Hubby passed this test today. It was a good thing I contacted our insurance carrier this morning regarding pre-certification of the spine surgery scheduled for Feb 27 because nobody has initiated it even though they said they would.

That's all for now. Take care! emoticon

  Sadly, we really do have to assume that things ARE NOT taken care of and advocate for ourselves. I am glad that you were able to take care of this ahead of time.
I wish all of you the emoticon

Today is...

Sunday, February 17, 2013

... a very busy day for us. It is the seventh day of Chinese New Year (CNY) which is known as "Yan Yat." "Yan Yat" means everyone's birthday. In Malaysia, we have a special dish called "Yee Sang" during CNY and today is the day to have it. "Yee Sang" is a salad dish with raw fish in it. This dish is eaten with anticipation that the coming year will be joyous, in good health, good luck and prosperous. By the way, this is the year of the water snake.

Here I would like to share a link to another CNY song :

We had to run errands before we left for the sub-urbs of Chicago to have some Malaysian food like Nasi Lemak, Loh Shee Fun, Char Kway Teow and Hainamese Chicken Rice. I forgot to take pictures. After that, we went to Mitsuwa to get some groceries. We went back to Asian Noodle House to get Yong Tau Foo to go (Malay word for to go is bungkus.) Hubby got some White Castle to go as well.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! emoticon

    This is the first time I heard about Yan Yat. Usually, I linked CNY with Chap Goh Meh coz the stories that I heard is usually quite romantic, what with single ladies throw oranges into rivers and wish to meet someone :)

  emoticon for informing me of your customs. I find it VERY interesting to know how others differ, especially in their food habits. The closest we are to an area that offers the foods of different nationalities is about 45 miles away.
