I mentioned in my earlier blog, I tried a new exercise on Monday, January 7, 2013 known as Body Flow. It is a combination of Yoga, Pilates & Tai Chi. The class was from 10:15am - 11:15am and the instructor is Alisha.

Went for Body Flow again on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 10:15am -11:15am and the instructor is Teresa. Teresa told us that we burn 450 calories in this 60 minutes class. I think I know why I felt dizzy during the class. This is probably due to the fact that I only have light breakfast. I feel this class is too intense/aggressive for me.

I have decided to go for the 90 minutes Tai Chi class offered by our church which resumes this coming Wednesday, January 16, 2013. The church members who are in this Tai Chi class are senior citizens. Hence, I think I fit right in.

    Exercise like most everything else in life is NOT one size fits all. We are so very lucky that we have so very many choices/options to choose from.
I am proud of you... that you check out the new offerings.. very daring of you, very smart of you, & very lucky of you that you live where there are so many choices.

Just want to let everyone know...

... I woke up this morning feeling very sore all over. Yesterday, I felt dizzy half way through the class and I felt like giving up but did not. Also, I could not follow the steps 100% (I aim to be perfect and hence giving myself too much pressure at times) and lost my balance as it was my first time. The good thing was I slept like a baby.

I still did my walking and treadmill today. Tomorrow, I think I will go for the Body Flow class again.

  I tend to put too much pressure on myself to be perfect too, and am really working on this. I am my own worst enemy.........no one else expects me to be perfect so I need to stop stressing MYSELF!!! I wish you luck with this.
Do you eat a meal with both carbs and protein before you work out? If you are dizzy, it could be low blood sugar. It might be worth mentioning to your doctor.
The more you experience the Body Flow class, the better you will get at it, the less sore you will be, and the better your balance will be. You don't have to be perfect at it.........you just have to enjoy it. emoticon

    Please remember,
You do not need to be PERFECT,
only GOD is PERFECT
and too often we question HIS perfection.
You only need to strive to do the best you can at any moment in time. You do not need to keep up or be better than those around you.
Besides, I'll bet the class is supposed to be fun, not a contest.
Give yourself a break.
Enjoy the class.
Let your BODY enjoy the FLOW !!

Tried something new today

One of my friends, Tricia, introduced me to a new exercise known as Body Flow today. Body Flow is one of the group fitness class offered by Peak Sports Club. Body Flow is a combination of Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi. Class starts at 10:15am and ends at 11:15am. It was overwhelming for me as I have not tried Yoga or Pilates. I am feeling sore and tired now. Perhaps, I will be able to sleep soundly tonight.

Tai Chi

Today, I have the opportunity to try Tai Chi for 90 minutes for the first time! This class is made available at our church. I was very happy after a long absence from church, I finally managed to get my hubby back to church. Praise the Lord! It was double happiness for me because October 28, 2012 was our 13th wedding anniversary.

    God surely does love it when one of His prodigal children visit home.. We will have to pray that your husband continues his weekly visit to the Lord's house. And that hubby welcomes the Lord into all facets of his life. Loving God and faith in Him truly is a whole family endeavor (not the word I wanted, but the best that would pop into my mind at the moment -- maybe commitment is a better word?)
