Rock On!!

Monday, June 11, 2012

So I've been really discouraged lately about the numbers on the scale. I've gained two pounds even though I am working out and eating pretty well. I work out with my trainer twice a week so I'm getting a heavy workout then and I also go to the gym at least two to three other days as well. I'm training for a 10k in September and so far I'm loving running again. Before I met my husband I used to run 8 miles per day! I'm back up to 1.5 per day so that makes me happy. Yesterday I tried on a shirt that used to be too small for me in the mid section and I was going to get rid of it, but much to my delight, when I put it on it fits great! I may not be seeing any improvement on the scale, but I am seeing an improvement in the fit of my clothes. Makes me want to work out harder so that I can see more results!!!

I find when clothes fit better, the ones the fit me now are getting bigger and the ones that are tight are loosening up, that is a better indicator than the scale that I'm going in the right direction. The scale just seems to jump around a lot. Good Going. emoticon emoticon

Personal Trainer- Part 2

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Met with the trainer and this is going to rock! She says it should be fairly easy (not painless) to lose the weight and tone up! I was correct in my earlier statement that having a trainer would brighten my attitude. I'm feeling great right now and all this was was an orientation. Can't wait to get in there and burn through the gym like I own the place! LOL My goals are finally seeming like they can be a reality now instead of just a dream or something to say when someone asks.

emoticon It is always easier to make yourself do something when someone is pushing you...at least it is for me. My daughter is my "trainer" and pushes me hard! Take this and run with it my friend! You will do awesome!

Personal Trainer

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Today I'm meeting with my new personal trainer. I took the Spark Quiz and it says I don't need to waste the money, but this is something that I want to do for me. I can't seem to get motivated lately and the scales are not tipping in my favor. So, here I go to get my butt kicked in shape and hopefully a new attitude of excitement toward the gym. I figure since I am shelling out so much money, I won't cancel on her or make excuses about going tomorrow. Sometimes spending money is the way to motivate yourself. :) I'll write again after my session and tell how it went.

First day of the rest of the days

Monday, May 21, 2012

Today is Monday and I'm starting another week off on the right foot. I've resolved to take things one day at a time and every week starts another opportunity to shed 2 or 3 lbs. Can't wait to get started! Slept really well last night (well, I sleep during the day) and the kids didn't wake me up too much. Now I'm home from work and ready to go to bed and sleep another 7 hours. I've found that if I sleep less than that I'm a zombie, but I just don't need 8 hours of sleep a night. I feel tired if I sleep too much as well. So, all in all a good start to the week. Slept well, ate pretty well and have a good attitude. Tonight is Zumba, my favorite, so I'm really looking forward to dancing my butt off (literally). I accredit about half of my weight loss to Zumba and definitely my good mood! I can't stop smiling for hours after all that great music!

Feeling Great!

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Today has not started like I had planned (but when does it ever). I haven't accomplished anything on my to do list, but I'm still having a fabulous day. It must be a good mirror day because when I was getting ready this morning I looked particularly thin and my husband made a comment that I looked terrific in my jeans today! Little compliments like that make my whole day go well even if it's not what I had planned. Tonight is Zumba so I'm excited to get to the gym; haven't been there in a while. Hope I can keep up with the class tonight, I am so uncoordinated it's funny. :)
